Guardian Protection Group Home home warranty scammers are just like, and live and work right next to, the previous complaint about scamming auto warranty. The letter they sent is the same threatening language; "Important Notice", "It is important that you contact our office at..", "This notice is to inform you..", "..as this will be our final attempt.." (we have 3 such notices from them in 2025), "Failure to call..", "Respond immediately.."Signed by fake-named-dude "**** ******", program director.Customer Answer

The car, 2018 Kia ******* that was covered by them has been totaled out but they were still going into my account taking out money. I emailed them on Oct. 18th and the car was totaled out Oct. 4th and everything was finalized. I have a new car and I don**;t have this car anymore. They are still calling me about this. They said I still owe them $50 to cancel the service. I would like a refund.Business Response

Per this complaint, we've searched our records extensively and have been able to confirm Galator Green is not a customer of our company. We did however reach out to our finance partners in order to attempt to provide some additional information to help with assisting Galator Green and was advised this individual does have a service contract with Guardian Protection Group.
We are **************** Auto Protection, not Guardian Protection Group. The phone # for Guardian Protection Group when Googled, *************) brings up two additional business names. Those two business names are Vehicle Protection Group and Automotive Protection Group- Neither of which are our companyWe recommend reaching out to the phone # listed for further assistance as this is not our customer
*********************- We feel this complaint should be removed from our records as this was not a customer of ours and the complaint was directed toward the wrong company. Thank you

On 12/4/2024, we received a call from Ms. ***** to set up her vehicle service contract on her 2025 Buick Envista. I have searched our records and we have never had coverage on her 2018 Kia ****** and have not charged anything for that vehicle. I believe there may be some confusion, which happens. We use a common payment processing company called *****, she may have another account with them with another company. We apologize for her frustration.
We spoke with Ms. ***** on 4/28/2025 and she made her monthly payment over the phone.
We apologize for the inconvenience to your office and our mutual customer. Thank you again for your time and consideration in this matter.Initial Complaint

I received a deceptive and unsolicited letter at my new home address shortly after closing on a home using a VA loan. The letter was made to look like an urgent, official notice, implying it was sent in coordination with my lender, ********* whose name was prominently displayed without their consent or involvement. The letter falsely suggested that a Home Warranty was expiring or needed to be activated immediately to avoid coverage gaps. It included phrases like RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED, Final attempt, and listed a fabricated customer ID and expiration date to induce urgency and fear. Nowhere did I ever express interest in a home warranty, and I was never told one was required especially not for a VA loan. When I called the number listed ***************), I was connected with a man identifying himself as ***** ****** from Guardian Protection Group. He gave no clear company credentials, and I later found this companys name on the BBB, where theyre listed but not accredited and have a history of similar complaints. Other consumers have also reported identical tactics: using public home records to target new homeowners with misleading or fear-based mailings. This practice is misleading, unethical, and possibly illegal. It is especially upsetting to me as a veteran who assumed the communication might be legitimate due to how my lenders name was used. I consider this a form of predatory marketing and misrepresentation, particularly disturbing when directed at veterans and first-time homeowners.I am requesting the following:Immediate removal of my name and address from all marketing and mailing lists used by Guardian Protection Group or any third-party vendors associated with them.A formal investigation by the BBB into this companys advertising and mail practices A written explanation of how my name and lender information were obtained and how they justify this type of misleading correspondence Attached is a photo of the letter I receivedBusiness Response

Every 2 months, I get a scam letter from them saving my home warranty has expired. I never had a home warranty on this house and I've lived here 30 years. Plus, if I wanted one, I'd use the company affiliated with my employer! I've written to them asking to stop the letters, no reply and didnt stop!I've written twice to the St. *****, MO postmaster to see if he can do anything, no reply,HELP!Business Response

Received yet another fraudulent solicitation from these criminals. Probably the 5th one in the past few years. The scammy mailings contain illegally deceptive wording claiming "Official business only" and "Penalty for private use" and wrongly claim my car warranty is expired. These lowlife thieves buy up vehicle information to create mailing lists to mass mail their fraudulently deception solicitations for their scam car warranties. The company serves ZERO legitimate purpose. They do not include a return address on the mailings, trying to hide who they are.Business Response

************************** (listed in the bottom right corner) collects and sells consumer data to scam car warranty companies. I call them whenever I get this exact same car template and the person usually is respectful and removes me from their mailing list. This one from Guardian Protection hung up on me twice and the other time kept saying to think again. Please report this company.Business Response

Keep getting these mailers for fake car warranty scams. I call them and request to be removed from their mailing list, most oblige and don't push back. This one I called today and he said why, and when I said because this is a scam and you're taking advantage of people who don't know it's a scam, he hung up on me, so I called again and requested to be removed, only to be put on hold and hung up on again, so I called again and said I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB and the ********'s office, again to be hung up on. Requesting my personal data be removed from all ************************** lists and more so, would like government regulation on these car warranty scamsBusiness Response

Guardian Protection Group takes consumer concerns seriously and adheres to all applicable regulations regarding marketing communications. We strive to provide a positive experience when addressing inquiries about our marketing materials.
After reviewing our records, we confirm that we had only one file associated with this individual. When they initially contacted us, we attempted to process their removal request immediately. However, they declined to provide the Approval Number listed on their notice, which is necessary to accurately locate and remove recipients from our marketing list.
Despite this, we have proactively removed their information from all future mailings. We regret any frustration this may have caused and want to assure the complainant that they will not receive further communications from us. If they have any additional concerns, they are welcome to contact us directly for further assistance.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:Although I thank the company for removing me from their mailing lists, I reject their narration of events and the fact this was only accomplished through a lengthy process involving the BBB. When I called, I immediately stated can you remove me from all lists with my corresponding ID number. The person on the phone then asked why I would do so and I said Im not interested, this is a grift, and he proceeded to condescend and talk over me when this could have been easily resolved by taking my ID number. Again, thanks for finally doing what I initially requested to do, but also, rather frustrating it took this escalation to receive what I needed accomplished. Hopefully Guardian can improve both their services and customers representative trainings in the future
Sincerely,
