Contracted with Restored Roofing to replace rotting facia board and install gutter guards on club house in Indian Hills subdivision near Cuba MO on lake side of house. Company did some repair work on opposite side of house stating that lake side did not need repair. Did not install gutter guards on lake side of house like requested. When asked to come back to do the lake side all they did was send a higher bid since it was higher up from the ground. Tried to contact company in October to setup meeting to resolve issue at club house, but they would never return calls. When I was there in October I noticed that they never installed the gutter guards on the lake house as per the contract. I guess that I never should have paid them before inspecting the work.

When I received the call from Mr. ***** I sent my crew to the location he requested. After looking at the photos my crew had taken, I had a conversation with Mr. ***** about the materials that would be needed to complete the job, and I sent him an estimate. After reviewing the estimate Mr. ***** called asked me to put in on my schedule to be completed. I had paint color matched and purchased everything for my crew need to complete the job. After completion I sent photos to Mr. ***** and he was satisfied with the work, and paid his invoice with a credit card. Several weeks later he inquired about having the same work done to the opposite side of the building. I sent him another estimate that was slightly more expensive because of the height difference on the opposite side, and I never heard anything back from him after that. Throughout the process of completing the work I had several phone calls and emails with Mr. ***** before the work was finished. I have not received any calls or emails from him since early September.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

After he sent the second bid, I was confused because the second bid also included another 72 feet of gutter guards that would have covered the whole house. So I called and told him that I wanted to meet with him at the property before proceeding to review what still needed to be finished.

I called the business on October 15th and left a message. I did received a text message on October 15th stating that they would call me back. I responded to the message with when I would be available that day. I also responded on Monday, October 18th requesting to meet on October 22nd. I never did hear from the company and no one showed up on October 22nd.

When I was at the property on on October 22nd I noticed that he had only installed the gutter guard on the front side (about 24 feet) of the house and not the lake side.

At this point, I not interested in contracting the company, but would like the rest of the gutter guard installed per the contract.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****

Attached you will find several photos pertaining to this complaint. The photo labeled ‘lake side photo” clearly shows the lake in the top of the photo and gutter guards in the gutters. Also, you can see the dormer has a little discoloration on the trim but no holes or any place pests could get in.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.

The one photo only shows a portion of the lake side gutter. It doesn't show the other half the gutter from the dormer to the end of the house where I don't recall seeing gutter guard installed since it is 22 feet up from the ground.

Unfortunately, I don't plan on going to the property anytime soon to verify that the gutter guards were installed all the way across. So I'll accept his response and move on to another contractor.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****
