This is the first time in my life I had to seek outside help to resolve an issue. We contracted *** to handle our exterior redo of our house that including New siding, storm door, soffit and gutters. Total project cost was $34,000. We have had numerous issues with completion of work and communication that have gone un completed our or not responded to. Currently the punch list includes:*Missing downspout/Scupper *Lights hung upside down *Storm door that does not open all the way due to soffit ***** wires *Gutter incorrectly placed *Water erosion due to missing downspout *Poor installation of garage weather stripping *Patio door base installed backwards The last time we had someone on property was on 10/10/23. So in the last 48 days I have had over 11 email inquires, 4 phone calls and 5 text to different team members at *** and have yet to see anyone come out to my property to address all of these issues with the project. Now we have new issues because of the long delay of remedying these issues. The missing downspout that was creating an erosion issue when it rains is now creating an ice issue when it snows. This is and will make it unsafe for my mother in law to move into you ADU which was supposed to happen this upcoming weekend. This has turned into the never ending stressful project when it should have been the complete opposite. You would think for $34,000 you would get better communication. Just want this project to be completed.

We have had trouble with Minnesota Exteriors finishing the work they started last August. There was a hail storm that went through our area damaging our roof. After the insurance company estimated the damage we had *** come out and submit an estimate to complete the work. We paid the company $13,000 to begin the work with the agreement we would pay them the remaining balance, $17,000 once the work was finished. They replaced the roof but also the installers damaged the trim on the underside of the house and did not replace the roof trim as described by the insurance company, they also did not replace the chimney caps and flashing as required by the bid as well. When speaking with the insurance company they indicated *** **** them a detailed bill, which included replacing all the trim and chimney caps, the work was not done, this is to me insurance fraud. They billed the insurance company but did not finish the work. When confronted with this information *** stated they would make it right and fix the problems. A crew came for an hour and fixed a few pieces of the trim but left off the chimney caps and flashings. It is now the end of the year and the problems have not been resolved. The trim on the entire roof needs to be replaced, the chimney caps need to be replaced and the flashing needs to be replaced as well. We have withheld payment and another repre****ative from *** came out two weeks ago, promising to fix all the issues. In the meantime we continue to get bills from *** with late fees for non payment. I want the issues fixed and the harassing bills to stop.

Good afternoon *****, the team at Minnesota Exteriors would like to apologize for your frustrations. We understand, that during installation, there was some damage done to your dormer flashing. Our team did come out and fix some of the areas, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to set up a time, weather permitting, for us to repair or replace the other damaged areas. The roof trim was replaced per your contract; our project supervisor went out to your home to assure that this was done. The chimney cap was excluded on your contract, as were the down spouts, so these items were not completed by ***. We did make a mistake in not excluding the furnace flue, and this was accidentally billed to your insurance. We guarantee that this was a complete oversight on our part and not insurance fraud. We will be issuing you a credit for this, referring to line item 12 on the detailed bill. *** is unable to do any work that involves HVAC, as we are not licensed to do so,which is why the chimney cap was excluded from your contract, and the furnace flue should have been. Again, we apologize for this mix up and any frustration it has caused. Our team will be in contact with you regarding the damage that was done to your dormer flashing during installation of your new roof, as well as to clear up any issues with billing. Please reach out to our team if you have any further questions or concerns.

I am rejecting this response because: I have a detailed bill by *** sent to **************************** They have billed and the insurance company paid for the following unfinished items:

      Line 18. R&R Chimney flashing-$581.89

      Line 20: R&R Flue cap-$185.28

Line 21: R&R Wrap wood window frame and trim with aluminum-$346.51 (all that was done was one piece of aluminum was overlayed on the current piece of aluminum, it was not replaced or repaired, it was not weather caulked and it was a cheap fix)

      Line 23: Siding labor: $159.51

All of this was billed to State Farm so I disagree it was a mistake, they were caught doing an unethical and possibly illegal act.

The above line items were per their actual bill, if you need a copy of this bill I can send it but it is a large document.

The company also owes us $300 for damages to our gutter for a grand total of $1573.19 of billed work that was not done. They also need to replace some trim work around our fireplace chimney damaged by the roofers..so there is much work to be done, I demand they do the work they billed the insurance company for and claim they completed.

Good morning ****************. Our team apologizes for the frustrations that occurred surrounding your project. We understand that the issues have been resolved, and your billing has been corrected.  Again, we apologize for the billing mistake.  Minnesota Exteriors stands by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, and we are here to help you with any installation issues you might meet in the future. Please let us know if you have any questions, our team would be happy to help.

I am rejecting this response because: *** did not correct the bill nor have they accepted the fact they committed insurance fraud. They did not fix the billing errors, we did, we spent over 40 hours pouring over the bill they sent to State Farm, we went line by line to determine what was their work and what they tried to claim was their money. WE fixed the billing error and forced them to fix the damage they caused to our property. No amount of saying you are sorry changes the fact you doubled down on the insurance fraud by sending us late fees on the wrong billing. We have sent all the evidence of insurance fraud to the States ************************* so they can determine if any laws were broken in this process.

It has been an exhausting process that has lasted over 7 months, we had been using *** for over 14 years and spent well over $100,000 with them remodeling our home just to be mistreated by them and have them attempt to steal money from us. Nothing *** does will make any difference and the fact they continue to apologize does not change the fact they are not honest and they continue to pretend they did nothing wrong. ***'s lack of response to the BBB speaks volumes to their lack of character in this process.

Please discontinue with this case as there is no resolution desired, I never will ever use *** for anything again.
