      I opened a checking account after I received a marketing promotion offering a bonus. The San Marcos CA branch was very helpful and everything was handled very professionally. I have read several negative reviews from folks who have financial problems with bad checks and they want to blame anybody but themselves for their financial problems. To put this in perspective, nobody writes a compliment when the bus is on-time 1,000 times, but if it is late just once, someone will complain. Consider that US Bank has about 500 reviews and MILLIONS of customers.

      Debit account :
      Paid them to place a stop payment on a re-occuring bill.
      Told it succeded, bill came out anyways, overdrafted the account, had to pay them for the stop payment, overdraft fee, and the bill.
      Closed my debit with them after this.
      Credit card, got charged 3x for sams club membership due to a glitch. Club manager asked me to dispute all 3 charges . Disputed and they denied all 3 disputes keeping 3x identical 80 $ charges that the manager told me directly to dispute.
      Will be paying off and closing credit with them also.
      Bank has followed the degradation of customer service trend of most western monopolies.

      Honest experience rating is negative five,(US Bank 6655 Center St. Mentor Ohio ) branch manager refused to deposit all 9 checks into my account . He stated that I need to go to another branch to deposit my checks. This isn't the first time they refused to deposit money into my account last time they told me I need to go to the branch that i originally opened my account years ago. That branch is nolonger open so where does he expect me to go. I feel like I'm being discriminate against everytime I go into this branch. I've never had a problem at any other branch. I don't understand stand why this branch refuses to help me with my banking needs.

      Bait and switch on US Bank Smartly Visa Signature card. I signed up for the credit card at the first of 2025. They had and still have a great credit card of originally 2% cash back on ALL purchases and an additional 2% back if you carry a $100,000 balance with them (cash or investments). 4% back is incredible and was too good to be true evidently. Starting in September they have limited the amount of purchases to $10,000 a month getting the 4% and also the businesses or transactions that qualify for the 4%. They have absolutely changed everything that was enticing to me to get their card and after moving money and investments around wasting my time, they change everything. They are dead to me as they did a money grab and hoping that people will not pull their money back out. I do not deal with deceptive people or businesses. Really a poor business move but this was probably always their plan.

      I want to express my frustration regarding my recent experience with US Bank. While I understand that there is a process for everything, it is unacceptable that employees are not familiar with these procedures. This lack of knowledge leads to unnecessary frustration and concern for customers.
      Recently, I attempted to deposit a check from a retirement company. I called the bank to confirm what documents I needed, especially after recently getting married. I was informed that I needed to come into the branch with certain documents, which I did. However, after waiting in line—thanks to inadequate staffing—I was informed by the banker that there was a hold on my check until August 10 for "security measures." When I asked for clarification, I was advised to contact the issuing company.
      I did just that, only to find that the check issuer had no hold on their end and suggested I reach out to my bank again. This is where my frustration truly escalated. I spent two hours contacting US Bank, only to be shuffled between various customer service representatives, each providing conflicting information and sometimes disconnecting the call.
      Finally, after my seventh call, I reached a manager who provided a somewhat detailed explanation for the hold.US Bank's operational processes are flawed. A customer-centric approach is essential; without satisfied customers, there is no business.
      I urge US Bank to train all employees thoroughly on customer service and the bank's guidelines. My experience reflects a significant gap in knowledge and service that needs urgent attention.

      Don't Bank with this US Bank. I deposit my check and now it's on hold. It will be release in 7 more day's. Total of 10 days without having access to it. Unbelievable!
      I should be able to sue them for holding on my money like that. As soonest the check is cleared, US Bank will lose a customer and I will join Chase or maybe Wells Fargo. Definitely recommend Chase and Wells Fargo better that US Bank.

      Last July my card was compromised. I found nearly $2000 of fraudulent charges on my card, 4 charges just under $500 ea. I notified US Bank immediately. Two weeks later they put the charges back on my account and when I contacted them they said my card was used. I did not make the charges, no one had access to my card but me. Three charges were made almost 3 hours from where I live, and I have never, never been to that city. One charge was made about 30 minutes from me, but I have never been to that particular store. I have had this card for about 20 years, never had an issue where I challenged a charge. They basically called me a liar, told me that I had to have used the card. No investigation on their part, no video (they refused to contact the businesses). I know the card was hacked, but they denied that it was. They are a multi-billion dollar company and they ****** me after 20 years of charges from which they made a lot of money. I highly recommend if you have a credit card from them ... cancel it. I am retired and live on a fixed income.

      WOULD RATE US BANK NEGATIVE 5 STARS IF I COULD...CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST!!! HAD GIFT CARD THAT NEVER LEFT MY POSESSION AND NEVER USED IT....SOMEONE ELSE SOMEHOW USED THE CARD AND NOBODY AT US BANK CARES TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION, SUCH A TERRIBLE BANK,,,GOOD LUCK TALKING TO SOMEONE BASED IN THE USA...THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME.....TAKE MY ADVICE AND NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH US BANK.....LOT OF MUCH BETTER OPTIONS...US BANK IS JUST PLAIN BAD,,,

      simply worst bank to deal with i went there to help friend to close account and we were waited for 1 hr no help lady at counter told me that his bank account is on hold and back office will help waited and fed up confronted her and she told me you will get check in mail she could have told me in first place

      I started a small business and chose us bank because it has incorporated merchant services. Signed up for the account sunday july 6th. The online application went pretty smooth for being a business checking, towards the end i was asked if i wanted a debit card and checks which i said no to both because i was going to call and see if they could add a mailing address since i dont get mail at my business address. The next day i got an email saying i need to finish my account which i thought i was done with. I made a log in for the app and was able to get in. I called that same day and talk to an agent who helped me with setting a mailing address and ordered me a debit card, after that he transferred me to the merchant service which is a third party to order a card reader, did that and they got it sent out. Fast forward 7 days, i get a notice from ups saying the card reader was delivered, but to a wrong address, and they sent 2 debit cards. When i called to sort out the debit card they accused me of ordering 2, then the card services people said they sent it to the address on file which clearly says not for shipping, use mailing address. When i call then i get transferred from one agent to another, most agents had kids screaming in the background very unprofessional because my wife works from home and her company has her prohibited to have our kids around when shes on the clock, so i feel all the agents i spoke with could have helped me but didnt want to because they are too busy with their kids and dont care about the customers who need help. I will be going with a bank who takes their customers serious especially a business customer.
