On March 6th I took my vehicle to the dealership for a tire rotation, oil change and a recall. When I picked my car up I noticed a rattling sound. I decided to take it to the mechanic by my house to diagnose the problem. He had stated that when Champion removed my skid plate to get to the oil filter. Upon doing so multiple bolts where stripped or crossthreaded, and some bolts where not even put back on. I got another appointment with Champion on April 4th to fix this issue. They stated that this is a common problem with my car and they would only cover half of the cost of repair which was quoted at $472. My main concern that this was not brought to my attention at the first appointment. It is big safety concern to have a large piece of metal barely secured to the bottom of the vehicle.Business Response

As seen in the attached pictures by the customer many of the bolts in question were rusted and snapped due to rust. This is not a workmanship issue but more of a rust and vehicle maintenance issue. We did apologize for not bringing it to the customers attention on the last service. This is why we offered to help in the repairs as a good faith gesture.
We addressed the issue with the oil change tech involved. He apologized as well for not bringing it to the customers attention. Since we have many customers that don't want belly pan repairs done, he just secured it the best he could with what he had. We did let the tech know that this decision had to be made by the customer, this was a strong learning experience for our oil change tech.
The only reason we let the vehicle leave in such fashion is it did not affect the drivability or safety of the vehicle. As stated, previous many of our customers opt to not have this repaired.
We are willing to work with the customer on these repairs, however we didn't cause the rust so we would like customer participation in the rusted bolt extraction.

I am rejecting this response because: I understand that rust is not their fault. From the pictures I have provided you can see bolts that are not rusted that were cross threaded as they were put back in. Most bolts were not returned at all. If it is an unexperienced tech that is fine, but how do we decide what was done by corrosion as opposed to what was damaged by the tech. I had to pay my mechanic to diagnose the problem, and there was a lot of unnecessary time I had to spend between shops.
Sincerely,

In regards to the rejection. So we have agreed that rust is playing a part in this repair. I also agree that having a younger oil change technician lead to some of the issues was well. The oil change technician position is a learning position in most dealership where we are attempting to train new mechanical technicians. We do at times run into errors; these then turn into learnable moments as we are all human. With this being said there was things that occurred in our control and thing that happened out of our control. This is why we proposed a split with the customer as a good faith gesture.
As far as the "out of pocket" expenses with another shop. Had the customer called back we would have gotten him right in with no wait.
I would be willing to entertain a more suitable split with the customer but we do feel with the rust being an issue customer should have some participation towards the repairs. We feel this is a fair offer.

I am rejecting this response because: I have already had another shop do the work because it has been so long. They had stated that the bolts that were not rusted were cross-threaded (from the oil change tech). From my perspective it looks like he just didn't care or was afraid that he was going to get in trouble. You do not remove bolts and not return them without malicious reasonings. I had to pay $292 in total to my mechanic to fix the mistakes.

****, thank you for your reply. I can see where you are coming from in regard to this. We would be willing to pay for the repairs you had completed in order to make things right with you. Is this a fair resolution?

I bought my 2018 Jeep Compass here in the fall of 2022. Ever since it has had this issue where it randomly freaks out, power steering stops, brakes stop working, and forces you to get into park. Once in park it takes anytime from minutes to hours to be drivable again. The first time it happened was a few weeks after purchase. I assumed the battery died while driving so I just replaced it.. No biggie.Months later the same issue happens again and happens either once every few months to multiple times a week. I live 1.5 hours away so I called Champion and they advised me to take it to the nearest dealership to me as the warranty it came with is unlikely to cover the repairs or 1.5 hour tow anyways. So I did just that. The vehicle spent a months and months in and out of the shop and repairs kept being made and the issue would persist. By then I have already spent $3000+ on this vehicle they sold me so I decided to take it where I purchased it. Champion Jeep in ********** has now been there almost a month and no diagnosis has been made. The service team has been absolutely amazing but I have been out of a car for weeks, they cant figure out how to fix it, and I do not see the end of this. When I called the other day to see if there was anything they can do to help, maybe a rental to have in the meantime, or potentially buying the car back at a FAIR price. I was met with *******. Who was terrible to me. I have been struggling with this issue for 1.5 years and was met by ******* telling me "you didn't even buy our warranty we don't owe you anything". It shows that all they care about is money. My issue isn't paying for the service the issue is that I was sold a lemon that cant be fixed. Not helping someone who was put in this terrible situation by them and will now lose a $25,000 investment.Take your money else where please. Save yourself the headache.Business Response

We are currently working on her vehicle trying to duplicate the concern with a certified technician and have not been able to duplicate the concern at this point. We have involved Stellantis with the concern as well. We are also looking into a possible trade in solution if it's viable for the customer. The vehicle was purchased with no factory warranty remaining and customer did not purchase any extended service contract.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because they have duplicated the issue multiple times the 1st week they had the vehicle so the message they sent was untrue and they stated they cant give me a buy back option unless the vehicle is fixed yet they cant find a way to fix the ongoing issue that has been happening since I purchased the vehicle. I also don't see how having an extended warranty matters in resolving this situation as I'm not asking for free work. If they fix it FOR GOOD I will pay for the work. Its only fair. I'm just saying if its unfixable I want them to acknowledge that they sold me a lemon and provide me with some sort of fair solution to the issue.
Sincerely,

As of today the repair has been made and it is in the final testing stage before it can be released. We will also be able to look at appraising the vehicle after the repair is complete for either a purchase or trade in.Customer Answer

After traveling, my car began making ticking noises. I brought it to this shop for repair. They were approved to do the repair by my warranty company. The dealership stated they had to wait on a part. Ive called for updates about the part with no return response. I have attempted to get the repair completed at another shop, but my warranty company will not approve the repair until the dealership calls and notifies them they were unable to complete repairs. The company has not responded or corrected this issue and I am unable to get major repairs. My warranty has an expiration date and their refusal to closes the claim is impacting my safety.Business Response

We worked on this customers vehicle back in June of this year. Yes there is a repair that was authorized by the customers Aftermarket warranty Company. We needed to order a part in order to complete the repairs. The customer was moving out of State before we would be able to receive the part and complete the repairs. Therefore, we never ordered the part, or completed the repairs. We also were not aware of the fact that we needed to call the customers Aftermarket warranty Company and release the vehicle to another shop. We have since done this, and We also followed up with the customer and let her know that we did this as well. Customer is now free to take her vehicle where ever she would please.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: my quoted price included a deductible for repairs. I have not heard back from the company regarding this payment.

This customer DID NOT pay ** any kind of a deductible for any warranty repairs. We DID NOT complete any repairs that were covered by her warranty company. The only repairs this customer paid for was a front brake job with pads and rotors, rear brake job with pads and rotors, and a brake fluid exchange service. Customer also paid to have wiper blades replaced. Neither of these items were related to the warranty repairs.
We did not complete any warranty repairs due to the fact that the customer was moving out of the State and we did not have parts available in time before she was moving. I actually just called the warranty company again to confirm this information. They have confirmed as well that Champion Chrysler did not submit any warranty claim. No deductible was EVER collected from the customer.

Waited two weeks for an oil change appointment, went in today (11/21/22) with a 3 oil change coupon for $70. Service advisor took it to ****************** to *************" for me then came back and said I couldn't use the coupon because I need synthetic blend oil. I said to read the title of the ******************** Change" coupon. So she took it back to ****************** and then came back and said it must be an old offer (expires 12/31/2022) or something because it's not on their system. They offered me three oil changes for $150. This was after my car had the oil change. I got this coupon directly from the Dodge web site, under Champion Chrysler Dealer coupons. Screen shot of web site and coupon attached, along with receipt.Initial Complaint

On 9/10/22 I took my van into Champion ***************************** to have the start/stop system serviced. I was told that my main battery and start/stop (aux) batteries needed to be replaced and was quoted $818.76 (none of which would be covered under the premier warranty I purchased through the dealership less than two years earlier). Having had a negative experience with the service department recently, I declined repairs at the time and decided to call for a second opinion. On the way home, I stopped at AutoZone and they tested my main battery, not only did it not need to be repaired, it was in excellent condition, and reading well above the 405CCA that Champion claimed in their estimate.Business Response
