              Hello, I am reaching out because of our absolute horrible stay at the Hilton. We came to The Hilton Garden Inn Grand Rapids, and had the worst stay Ive ever had in a hotel. The front desk lady was snotty, and rude to us from the beginning. We checked in and my husband and I took our 4 children down to the pool to swim. We then left the pool and went back to our room to get changed. It was 5PM ON SATURDAY, spring break weekend. A manager came to our room stating that we needed to quiet down because the people underneath us were complaining. It was 5 on a Saturday!!!!!!! There were kids running up and down the halls. This lady then told me that I either needed to take my kids back to the pool, or we needed to pretty much leave for the night. So we went to dinner, because I didnt even want to be in our $200 room that we paid for!!!! We got back, and the pool was completely shut down. For hours!!!! The lady told me it would be up and running at 8am, so when we woke up I asked why it wasnt opened up yet, and she said it would be open soon. 11am comes around and she tells us we cant swim and we needed to check out and leave. My kids were able to swim one hour total. I asked for an extra pillow and blanket and she said you can come to the front desk, we dont have chaperones to bring you sleeping bags. I complained to a manager the following day, and she told me she would refund me my room back, and now nobody will answer my calls. Ive called the general manager as well as the woman who told me she would call me back, and nobody has contacted me back.

              I took my 10 year old daughter and a few of her friends to the Holiday Inn Express in Grandville, MI this past weekend. When we arrived, I had a great check in process. The front desk lady was nice enough to accept a picture of my debit card, since in all the madness I forgot to get my purse that my fianc was on his way to bring me. After sometime in the pool I was told there was a complaint about the girls being in the hot tub and if I will keep them out of it. About 30ish mins later at 10:10 another man yells into the pool area that we were supposed to be out of the pool at 10. I kindly questioned him as I was told 10:30pm when I called ahead and he yelled to me that was incorrect and slammed the door. I round the girls up and go grab towels and happened to notice that pool hours for children were in fact 10:30 and are clearly posted on the pool window. I then ask him if there was another complaint while asking for towels as to why we are getting kicked out of the pool early. He tells me again rudely there is no other complaints but the pool closes at 10. I then mentioned I called ahead they told me 10:30 and that is what's posted on the window. He yells "WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT?!" I pointed to the window the hours are posted. He rolled his eyes and tells me he will get the towels. Walking up to me he takes a look at the girls with me and yells at me yet again that I can't have all "THESE TYPES" of girls here! I will say most of the girls with me were bi-racial including my own daughter. I ask to speak to a Manager and he tells me that I need to leave the Hotel and informed me he was calling the Police. 3 Police Officers arrive shortly after upon arrival asked me my name and if I have a weapon as they were told I threated that man with a knife. At this point I am not only fuming, but embarrassed and hurt as I have these little girls terrified, wet, and crying with my daughters heartbroken. This establishment has told lie after lie to justify their actions.

              This guest rented a suite which permits a maximum occupancy of 6 people. With herself, daughter, and nine additional children, she exceeded that life safety regulation. She was informed of this but stated some of the children would be picked up soon.Unfortunately, the children were not being properly monitored while in the pool area resulting in a complaint from another hotel guest. An associate approached this guest to address the complaint and also asked again about the number of children. The guest stated they all were staying the night which then prompted the associate to inform her of the need for an additional room purchase based on the occupancy permits for her presently purchased room. The guest stated purchasing another room was not an option for her. She was informed that not everyone can stay in the current room. The guest became angry and belligerent to such an extent that she was asked to vacate the building. At no time did any associate make disparaging comments toward the children or any other guest. A representative from the hotels management company phoned the guest on 5/26/22 and discussed this event in detail. A full refund of the guests room charge was issued at the conclusion of the phone conversation.
