      ****** Rayford **** IV CFPB Complaint ID: *************** I am filing this complaint against Lake Michigan Credit Union for inaccurate and harmful credit reporting. The same account is reported inconsistently: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion show it as Charge-Off/Closed, while ******* continues to show it as Open. This contradiction violates FCRA accuracy standards and has directly harmed my ability to move forward ************** proof, I have attached housing denial notices from ****************************** (************************************************************************) and from **** ****** (**************************************************************). Both landlords explicitly stated that my application was denied because of information in my credit report. These denials clearly show that the conflicting reporting is preventing me from obtaining safe, reliable ********** addition, this inaccurate reporting continues to lower my credit score, keeping me from accessing better interest rates and affordable, reliable transportation.I request that Lake Michigan Credit Union provide verifiable proof of accuracy, including any IRS Form 1099-C if the account was charged off, or that the account be permanently deleted from all credit bureaus.Respectfully,****** Rayford **** IV

      I currently have an auto loan with LMCU. When I first opened the account with ****************** I told the banker that I won't be driving the car much as it is a project vehicle. The banker said that they have a 6-month storage option, and if I wanted a little more storage to just communicate that. When I had all my savings in LMCU they would help accommodate me barley driving the car. But since I have moved all my saving out of LMCU to higher earing account elsewhere I feel like LMCU no longer cares about helping me grow wealth. Having me put full coverage on car that is barley driven is not ideal. Anyway, LMCU put forced placed insurance on my vehicle charging my loan over $5,424. I verified that the car has full coverage, and they said they would refund 3K. So, you're telling me LMCU is me charging ***** a month for insurance. Also, on top of that they are going to charge me interest on the added insurance balance. I don't think so, I need every bit of that forced placed amount to get removed from my loan balance. $***** a month for insurance is not looking out for your customer, that is finding ways to snake the customer. No insurance cost $***** a month. If you are going to charge me this amount, I want the breakdown of what the policy covers so I can have an attorney, or another set of eyes look at it and tell me if it makes sense.

      I submitted an preapproval application and for two weeks Ive been trying to contact my loan officer but I leave voicemails with no returned calls. The last three times I called I was told he was in a meeting. I requested a manager to reassign my request it has yet to happen.

      **** made our personal and business accounts "read only" because of a $5.00 balance on a LMCU credit card that we don't even use anymore. We had no call, no email and no letter in the mail. We need to access bill pay on our business account almost on a daily basis and this was interrupted. Cannot believe they didn't notify us somehow.Probably going to move everything away from ****, unless they can give us a valid explanation for this egregious action.

      Attempted to deposit check for $400 from my uncle for rent. Upon calling **** customer service, I was connected to the fraud department. They locked my account and told me to call back within 5 business days, which I did. They proceeded to tell me it could take up to a year, which doesnt make sense at all. If it were my main bank account, I would be furious, thankfully its not! Nonetheless, I still have funds that are locked up because of my account. They told me to contact my ****** bank which I had my uncle do. They said his account was debited for the $400 meaning the check went through but my account is still locked!

      I am writing to formally dispute an inaccurate entry on my credit report. After reviewing my credit report, I found that the following account, which I did not open, is being reported under my name. I am a victim of identity theft and have filed a complaint with ***************** to address this issue.The fraudulent account is as follows:Lake Michigan Credit Union Account #: ************* Date Opened: 05/25/2024 This account was opened without my knowledge or authorization, and its presence on my credit report has severely impacted my credit rating and financial stability.       I had a fraudulent charge placed on my Lake Michigan Credit Union account that I believed was closed. I was contacted by **** by phone alerting me to an over charge of $402 placed on my account. I disputed and won my dispute, **** agreed that it was fraudulent, but they filed a negative **** on my credit score which will affect my chances of getting premium ratings I received prior to this. I was never alerted of these charges prior to these phone calls. **** sent letters to an incorrect address so I did not receive anything alerting me to this issue. I submitted a credit dispute but **** denied my submission. How can they say the charge was fraudulent, but then place this **** on my credit score? I really just need this **** taken off my credit score. The communication and help I received from **** was non existent and obviously detrimental to my financial future.

      I currently have my auto loan through them, called in to refinance on 9/23/2024 around 11 am.Spoke to someone about refinancing, she stated they can refinance at 84 months and they would need to run my credit to see the interest rate. Not a problem.The problem came after the ran my credit, 780 credit score, again not the problem. After the ***ort was ran they stated they couldn't do the refinance because the truck was upside down, even though they hold the loan. Every other lender does the vehicle appraisal before the credit check... so now they dinged my credit for no reason... they won't call to have it removed. The *** stated they couldn't do the appraisal before, which is a out right lie. If that was the case everyone using NADA (which they said they use) would have to pull their credit to find out their vehicle value...

      I've tried on several occasions to pay my bill to **** and they would not take my money. I had a car payment through them and a credit card. I paid off my car and was paying small payments on the credit card, then they wouldnt take my money. I went into the branch several times and just stood there waiting and now my check is being garnished 36% of my after taxed income, I can not afford this!!!!! I dont know who could. I will not continue to be a working person of society if this does not get reduced... I would love to just keep paying my credit card payment I dont know why I couldnt any more. and also I dont have the title for my car and I'm being sued for all this money does not make any sense how am i suppose to live?????? in fact I will not be able to live if this does not change
