They are not accredited and the guy Mr. ****** is very unprofessional and I am tired of the multiple phone calls. I am getting ready to file an order against them because as a debt collector all they have to do is mail out letters but instead I am getting multiple phone calls and having people knocking on my door trying to serve me totally out of line. I will start paying again with money orders in August but refuse to speak with them. I refuse. Payments will start in August 2024. I could not pay them before due to facing an eviction and losing my home. Stillman Law firm which is know as a collection agency Mr. ****** is blowing up my phone constantly and is very unprofessional. I want no more contact by him and he will see payments will start again. If he continues I will file a court complaint and will take it to higher extremes

Stillman P.C., d.b.a. Stillman Law Office (Stillman) confirms receipt of the written notification from ******** ****** to the BBB.  Stillman is a law firm that regularly handles creditor’s rights matters.  Stillman received this matter for collection purposes from its client on or about April 4, 2023, and in accordance with Regulation F, sent the Model Validation Notice, on or about April 5, 2023.   ****** contacted the Firm on or about May 17, 2023, which not only acknowledged the matter, but lifted contact restrictions and sought an amicable arrangement to resolve the matter.  Stillman’s response to the request failed to formalize into an agreement.  Accordingly, Stillman filed suit on or about September 11, 2023.
Subsequently, ****** contacted Stillman on October 3, 2023, providing a proposed resolution and reiterating permission for return contact and lift of contact restrictions.  A Stipulation was sent to ******, to formalize the arrangement and resolve the matter before the Court, but ****** failed to sign and return same and failed to comply with the proposed terms.
Ongoing reasonable efforts were made to contact ****** to resolve the case, but a review of the call records and engagements does not reflect that ****** reinstated a cease notification, made a refusal to pay, or otherwise indicated harassment until July 31, 2024.
Below is a basic timeline of communication with ******:
      ?  May 24, 2024: Stillman attempted to contact ******.
?  July 25, 2024: Stillman made another outbound call, leaving a message.
?  July 31, 2024: ****** responded with inbound calls and sent feedback to multiple entities, including Stillman, the BBB, the Maryland Court, and the CFPB.
Stillman fully refutes the statement of harassment given these interactions.  With respect to service of process, Stillman is required to have any lawsuit served to an individual that is a party to the lawsuit.
In resolution, Stillman sent written correspondence to ****** offering to reinstate the payment arrangement along with a proposed Stipulation.  ****** responded to the communication that she would agree to the arrangement and agreed to the Stipulation, which has since been entered by the Court.  Given this resolution, Stillman has requested that service of process attempts cease.

I was contacted by Stillman Law Office via mail regarding an old debt purchased from a bank. The letter said to go on their website to set up payment. Upon going to their website I saw a link to apply for hardship (I am medically disabled). I filled that out and submitted it via their website, which said they'd get back to me. They never did. I filled it out again a few months later, and again had no response. Now suddenly I was served with court papers June 16th for refusal to pay. I tried, they never responded, and now that's somehow my fault? Plus they want me to pay their court fees! Maybe they should respond to the people who use their website!

Stillman P.C., d.b.a. Stillman Law Office (Stillman) confirms receipt of the written notification from ***** ** ****** (******) to the BBB.  Stillman received the matter on or about December 29, 2023, and subsequently in accordance with Regulation F, sent the Model Validation Notice, on or about December 29, 2023.   ****** contacted the Firm on or about January 19, 2024, disputing the debt and requesting information on same.  Stillman sent validation to ****** on or about January 23, 2024.

******’s BBB complaint acknowledges the receipt of the matter and does not further dispute liability after the receipt of validation.  Specifically, it indicates that the individual went to the Firm’s set to set up a repayment agreement – inferring an acknowledgment of the obligation, and through the indicators of hardship, merely a need to additional consideration for the ability to pay/resolve in full.  Accordingly, consistent with the request of ******, Stillman reached out to ****** to discuss the highlighted concern in engagement and in an effort to amicably resolve the matter and deem the requested response per ******’s BBB request complete.

I was having difficulty with posting a response, sorry for the delay.

I was contacted by Stillman Law after filing with BBB and filing the paperwork with the court. Spoke with Ray who told me my hardship filings had come through as disputes. Was asked to send in more information regarding hardship status and was supposed to hear back by today, but have not yet. Will call Stillman back tomorrow.

      Dear Christia *****:

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau. This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 8/2/2023 against ******** Law Office, LLC.  Your complaint was assigned ID *********

Now that I have filed, what is the next step?
We have forwarded your complaint to the business for their response. We have asked the business to reply promptly, but some disputes may take longer than others to conclude.  Please be patient as we work to ensure that your concerns are addressed.

What if I do not agree with the response from the business?
It is important for both parties to maintain realistic expectations and respond in a professional, fair and courteous manner.  Our goal is for you and the business to be able to work towards an amicable solution. Should this prove difficult, we may offer you and the business the opportunity to participate in binding arbitration.  More information about these options can be found at www.bbb.org

BBB can also refer you to other agencies that may be able to assist you, depending on the specific nature of your complaint.

Feedback from consumers is vital to BBB. We appreciate your willingness to report this information to us. We look forward to helping you and the business work toward a resolution. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any additional questions or concerns.

What will happen if I do not submit a response and what can I expect to happen next?
If you do not respond promptly to this complaint, it may be closed as Unanswered.  This may result in a substantially lower rating with BBB, which could adversely influence potential customers. Once we receive your response, we will forward it to your customer and ask them to tell us in writing whether your response resolves their concerns.  If they continue to express dissatisfaction, the case will be reviewed by BBB staff to determine if the remaining concerns warrant an additional response.  The overall standard applied in the review process is: Did the company act in good faith, and do everything that could be reasonably expected, or is responsible for, to resolve the issue?

We look forward to helping you and your customer work toward an amicable resolution.

      Sincerely,

      Dear Aaron ******:

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau. This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 7/19/2023 against ******** Law Office, LLC.

What happens if a business does not respond?

However, failure to do so may result in a negative impact on their BBB rating, which may drive away future customers.
