I had an agreement with Von Paris International to ship my personal effects from Washington DC to be delivered to ******* ******* Botswana, during the COVID-19 Pandemic per the information below; including the sudden loss of my son... Charges: $16,320.00 Includes the shuttle in DC; Monthly Storage; Handling Charges;Fuel Surcharge; SERVICE TYPE: Door to Door. 40’ container VOLUME: 2237 cu.ft. / 15,000 lbs. PACKING: Included INSURANCE: $2.50 per $100 of Value; including terms & conditions of the contract. Towards the end of packing the price was up to $31,000.00; whose receipt I'm still waiting for, for my income tax filing. Neither have they sent me the money for going over the contract amount and explaining how it came about. US14,680.00 without any written justification or explanation, and receipt for my income tax 2022 filing is definitely questionable. I've contacted the manager for answers after the effects were delivered for a detailed justification and receipt of same in writing; but to-date he's stuck to verbal speculation which he failed to share with me while his company was packing & picking up effects from October 7, 2021; until June 27, 2022. Process was going on while I was upgrading my home for sale. No empathy from the officer assigned to assist me even when I pointed it out...while she duplicated my invoices; the last of which was for "$15,714.00, to be paid in full required prior to sailing"--when I'd already paid $13,00+ for the pack & pick up, storage, fuel surcharge, etc; as stipulated in the original contract. Had to rush back home for another family emergency in mid-June ahead of the container; and waited for the delivery of the container which finally sailed on 10/21/22 making it to my doorstep on 01/13/23 which was a relief... I am certain that Von Paris overcharged me and they should reimburse me. They never wrote to me regarding the extra charges until I rendered my complaint of being overcharged. Packers were super nice. ********
