Dropped off boat on July 31, 2023, for duration of 6-8 weeks, for 17,105.41; there has been no payments made. Damages pertaining to water, smoke, woodwork, and missing sub-flooring. purchased boat on June 16, 2023 right after the inspection and vessel survey. Then when we went to pick up our boat for the second time, after being told again she was ready, to find that she was splashed, took on water, and they pulled her back out of the water. We were not notified via phone or email of these issues. Water Damage: We were told by Ed that our boat had taken on a little water after they splashed on Monday, October 2, 2023. We arrived at Haven Harbour October 5, 2023 to them putting floors back down, from what we were told was cleaning up water. At first Haven Harbour marina charged us for what they said was a through hull fitting thinking that was why the boat took on so much water. We spent seven days of cleaning water up throughout our boat. When we pulled the floor boards up to check the batteries (new batteries) for water and see why our battery monitor wasn’t working. I also asked him for the pictures of water inside our boat, as an individual who was on the docks at the time, told us that someone from the marina was taking pictures of the water in the boat, of which we had yet to receive for a proper assessment to water damages. There was water in locations above the floor level in the saloon. there was water in forced air heating ducts, and in locations above the galley floor as well. I have now spoken to several surveyors that want to have those pictures of the level of water to determine the extent of water damage. I want all photos taken for a new survey of all work performed by Haven Harbour marina. Woodwork and Floor Damage: from water as well, pertains to dents, scratches, and missing pieces of sub floor panels, “believed to have been removed for drying them out after taking on the water” (according to conversations with Ed).During our clean-up we noticed many things different from the photos we have at purchase and survey. Smoke/Smell Damage: During the second keel re-installment. I noticed the black water tank was removed and placed inside the cabin. While looking over all of the second keel reinstall, we were able to see the damage to the keel wiper seal, that Ed said wasn’t bad. When asked during the first removal, “Ed said that the seal was good and didn’t need replaced” even though we requested for it to be replaced. After being hulled out of the water the second time you could see that was torn and hanging. While they were replacing the seal, the technician had used a torch to remove screws that were stuck, leaving burn marks on the keel and filling the cabin full of smoke smelling like rubber and melted paint which had come through the keel box. During our fist visit, we noticed chips out in the gel coat on the transom/Sugar Scoop fiberglass during haul out. While talking to both Ed and Charlie on Friday October 6, 2023. We decided to give the business a second chance. I feel that the condition of our boat is in worse shape than when we dropped it off. Asking for now: -All cost associated with water in the boat be removed from the keel bill, refunded water cleanup from the through-hull replaced, Because the keel was not installed properly the first time, due to the tank not being removed during removal and installation of the keel. -Cost of wiper seal hours be removed from the bill, because Ed said it was in good shape when the keel was installed the first time, but not the second installation. -Any and all photos our boat inside and outside need to be given to us to begin an assessment of damages by a surveyor. -To move the boat from Haven Harbour marina for survey and winter storage at a near-by marina since the vessel’s seaworthiness is questionable. -Reassess fees All jobs that need to be completed for removal and replacing the keel, being steps were missed.
