      We enlisted the services of a local contractor in April 2023 to build an outdoor kitchen, with the work beginning in July 2023 and to be completed in September 2023. After several conversations with Mr. **** regarding the scope and timing of the project, and assurances that he would be able to complete the work within the timeframe needed, we mutually agreed to move forward with AE Berg Plumbing.

      We signed a contract with AE Berg Plumbing on 8/12/2023 with a total cost of $8800. We gave Mr. **** a check for $4800, which he deposited on 8/14/2023. Since that time, Mr. **** has shown up once, for approximately 1 hour, in late September to lay conduit (valued at approximately $250). He told us he would return with additional supplies and labor, and never did. Mr. **** also failed to communicate with the kitchen contractor, despite multiple attempts by the contractor to reach him to coordinate site work.

      Over the course of several weeks, we tried to contact Mr. **** to complete the work. He gave us several dates to return and either cancelled at the last minute or not shown up at all. Ultimately, he stopped answering calls and text messages from us requesting an update. As a result of his lack of follow-through, all other contractors had to stop working on this project.

      Due to Mr. ****'s failure to respond to our messages, or communicate a time when he would be able to complete the work, we found it necessary to secure a new contractor in early October. They completed the majority of the work within 1 week.

      We are requesting an immediate and full refund of $4800 since the work done by AE Berg Plumbing had to be redone by the new contractors. Should the matter not be resolved timely, we plan to pursue legal action.
