Last week my family stayed at Sandy Pines Unit **** in Bethany Beach for 5 days, 4 nights and we had the worst experience ever. We booked our trip through Priceline which their website said the unit was “Exceptionally Clean” which we found out was certainly false advertising.
We were told the house was ready 3+ hours prior to our checkin time which the cleaning staff could have used to properly clean this place.
Immediately upon entering we could smell the scent of cigarette smoke, which after finding previous reviews had been an ongoing issue with other travelers for the past 2+ years. The has an air purifiers but once I tried turning that on, it didn’t even power on! I immediately contacted Vacasa, who after some time sent out someone from their cleaning staff to spray Lysol, which she did right next to my 16 month old son! Use some common sense not to spray chemicals around a toddler!
After our initial thoughts on the home we decided to wash the bedsheets because we were unsure whether the cleaning staff had actually washed them. We tried to wash the comforter too due to the white stain we found but was too big for the washer. Our solution was to go to ** **** and buy blankets there to use at night.
Later that night we gave our son a bath before bed, but allowed him to play on the floor downstairs for a bit. Once we picked him up the bottom of his feet were ALL BLACK. Was this place ever cleaned?
Other issues we discovered were paint chipping from the walls and ceiling, the oscillating fan in the kids bedroom was either covered in dust, dirty windows, rusted toaster oven, water damage to the ceiling, laundry door isn’t on it’s track, hose at kitchen sink is damaged and can’t be used, table lamp switch in kids bedroom is damaged and must be plugged in through cord at the outlet, the bed in the master bedroom is being held up by a PVC pipe, I kid you not!
I asked for a refund and only received $85 back if they actually send it. We paid $761 for the stay.

VACASA (Oceans Mist 402) fell very short of expectations! Unit was NEVER cleaned from previous tenant. Dirty linen never picked up, and clean linen never left. Old items left in refrigerator. Property had numerous signs of neflect (burnt out lightbulbs, broken chairs, broken floor fan, broken patio door handle, kitchen items all worn and crusty, exposed outlet wiring, walls scraped to bare drywall from the furniture).
The people that I have spoken with both over the phone and in person at the local office were just message takers. Not one of them could make real-time decisions on how to address any of my concerns. I had to initiate every interaction with the company despite being told that someone would return my phone calls. I was not able to speak directly with the property manager to resolve any issues.
Needless to say upset does not begin to describe our experience.

Do not rent from Vacasa We rented 1543 Teal Drive in Ocean City Maryland and the kitchen was infested with rat and mouse poop in the kitchen draws-and around the home The company was informed but we were rudely hung up on, yelled and giving the run around with no straight answers during and after our stay when we asked for a partial refund not even a full refund! We continue to get fake information and lies even with picture proof! We were not able to use the kitchen for our stay and lost over $1000 in groceries for the week We were 6 adults and 6 children in this home this was very toxic and unsanitary living conditions There was also a fly trap on top the kitchen table were we ate full of flies when we arrived! Vacsa rentals is a **** and i would stay as far away from this company when booking your next vacation,

We had rented a property for three days this summer in Ocean City, MD. Due to unforeseen circumstances - my SEVEN YEAR OLD - having a ****** *** ******* ***** *******, we cannot go and need to cancel.
While the live chat representative tried to help, her superiors suggested I "gift to a family member" and absolutely would not consider an exception nor would they allow her to share the superior contact information with me. I understand there is a policy in place, but this is an extreme situation that this company is not even willing to consider.
This is very poor customer service and the fact that superiors are not willing to take any responsibility makes me wonder about the validity of this company.

We recently booked a property through Vacasa-Red Lion #4. It was advertised as having 2 parking spaces. I called to confirm this and was assured that there were 2 parking spaces, and told over the phone and via text and Vacasa app to display parking passes at all times or risk being towed. Upon arrival at the property, I was unable to find any parking passes. I texted Vacasa -received message to check over the microwave, over the refrigerator, in our welcome packet. No passes…then told to go to the local office to pick up 2 parking passes. The local office gave hand written parking passes. I asked where to park, and was only then told that there is street parking only. I showed them my paperwork and the property description and then screenshot it. I was assured by Edye (local office) that the actual owner would contact me - which never happened. We paid cash to a hotel employee across the street, to be able to have a place to park. I have asked for some sort of compensation. Vacasa has offered nothing more than empty apologies and refers me to the website page that now says 0 parking spaces. When I show them my screenshots and paperwork, they get disconnected or have to talk to their supervisor and say they will call me back. I cannot recommend using Vacasa at all. I feel we were duped into paying a very high price for a rental thinking we were getting something only to find out after they have our money and we are already there, that we will not get what we knew to be part of the deal.
