On June 20, 2024, I authorized two gentlemen from Just Exteriors LLC to assess damage to my roof following significant storm activity the prior couple weeks, including close and confirmed tornado activity. Following their inspection, the two gentlemen said I had some concerning damage, including missing shingles. The one gentlemen said I had very good grounds for an insurance claim, and repeatedly cited the "missing shingles" as the key factor in insurance approving to cover a roof replacement. On June 21, 2024, my neighbor was having his roof replaced. I went over and asked if his roofer could assess my roof, wanting to get a second opinion. This roofer, ****** *******, examined my roof. He told me and my neighbor that it looked like someone very recently removed some shingles, noting that there was no water damage underneath the shingles and the shingles were tore clean, in one piece from the roof. In his professional opinion, *** ******* said someone had to have removed the specific shingles deliberately. *** ******* took photos that I have in my possession, but these are too large of files to upload with this complaint. When hearing this, my neighbor who hired *** ******* said he saw two guys on another neighbors roof on June 20 creasing shingles, bending them backwards. These are the same two persons who were on my roof on June 20.We had to leave for vacation on June 23, and when we returned I contacted ***************** non-emergency line to file a police report. The officer assigned took my statements and logged a police report for the vandalism. This report is uploaded.

    Business Response

    Hi,

    Thanks for sending this over.

When we spoke with the homeowner about setting up an inspection, he told us that other companies had already performed multiple inspections of his roof and he was aware of the damage.  The report you sent makes the logical fallacy that because something happened after an event, it happened because of that event vent.
We gave Mr. ********* another inspection report and offered to file the claim with him. As you know, he did not file the claim with our company. In our report we cited the wind creases and missing shingles, but if some of these were mechanical in nature, they were not damaged by our inspection team as we adhere to strict industry guidelines and procedures.

While we did in fact give your client a report on the condition of the roof, we were not the first, or potentially the last inspectors to examine the roof. I can only vouch for our own practices and not those who came before or after us.

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this matter.

    Respectfully

    *** Crosby
