On June 12, 2025, I received an estimate from Triple J Mechanical, LLC for **** installation services. An invoice was issued on July 1, 2025, originally totaling $10,063.00. I paid $5,063.00 that day to cover the cost of materials. The remaining $5,000 was for labor. However, the contractor later reduced the labor cost to $2,000 after acknowledging poor performance by his pre-apprentices a result of having no proper journeyman or master supervision, as the master technician never showed up to the job site. The invoice clearly stated that labor payment was not due until July 31, 2025, but on July 16, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., the owner, *****, demanded full payment by midnight, saying he had no money to pay his guys. He threatened that if we didnt pay immediately, he would return at 6:00 a.m. to remove the ******* ** unit we had already paid for as part of the materials. We felt threatened and pressured and paid the $2,000, even though the work was not complete. Most of the installation was done incorrectly or left unfinished, and the **** system was nonfunctional. The crew left behind trash, damage to walls, and even a bottle of urine (pee bottle) in the attic. Despite repeated promises to return and finish the job, no one came. After weeks of being misled, we ultimately told the company not to come back.We were forced to hire another contractor to properly install the system, repair damage, and deep clean our home due to the debris left behind.I am seeking a full or partial refund for incomplete and substandard work, unprofessional behavior, false promises, and the threatening conduct used to pressure early payment in violation of the written agreement.(I also have a video of a recorded phone call of the threat made by the owner, *****.)
