10/5/2022 $75.40 (including 30% tip) I called to make an appt with a stylist (Carrie) because the online scheduler was not working. She said she could not see me (even though she had availability online). I explained over the phone what I wanted, and Carrie stated another stylist Kelly would be able to help me. I got to the salon and Kelly was standoffish and rude from the beginning. There was also a strong marijuana smell. I showed her the inspiration photos and she took me back to wash and condition my hair. When we got back to the chair, she said she could not cut bangs because my hair was "too long". I said okay well I have had short hair so let's just cut it. She cut it up to my shoulders, included layers and angles and cut bangs. She then told me she was not familiar with how to do "beachy" type waves in hair. She said she would try though. She blew dry my hair and burned my scalp multiple times. I did not say anything because I figured my scalp was just sensitive, so I let it go. She whips out the curling iron and begins curling my hair. She was telling me a story about how she just moved and didn't have rent money and it was a sob story which pulled on my heart strings. When she got to the top of my head, she burned my forehead with the curling iron not once, but twice. Once she was done, I had to move my newly cut bangs because they were touching the burns. I said you burned my forehead. She stated she didn't realize and said I (the client) didn't even flinch. Another stylist told her to get me some aloe. I checked out and left her a very generous tip, not because I was happy about the work, but because I felt bad for her. I left and immediately pulled my hair up and cried. The work she did was NOTHING like the picture, she made my hair extremely choppy so I cannot wear it down or it looks like a bowl cut around the middle of my head along with longer hair coming from the coming from the bowl cut. She also burned me badly not once, but twice.
