    I contacted Josh the owner of JAR regarding a stove knob. He advised there was a $79 diagnostic fee and that fee would be deducted from the cost job if we agreed to have them make the repairs. My husband and I agreed and on 6/19/21 they performed the diagnostic and we paid the $79 fee. We were told they had to order parts which would take two weeks for them to come in. After not receiving a follow up call, I had to reach out to Josh on 7/20/21 and 8/18/21. He's dismissive, advising he can't talk. He then would text to say the part was ordered and he's waiting to hear back from the company. I NEVER receive a follow up call until I have to reach out to him. On 8/19/21 Josh spoke with my husband and agreed to refund us the money, but now today 8/28/21 he's refusing. Did the diagnostic get performed yes; however, we only agreed to pay the fee based on them repairing our stove. Now we have to pay another diagnostic fee and hope we don't get ripped off again. JAR is very unprofessional.

    The technician from Josh's Appliance Repair answered the phone, was able to commit to a same day appointment, sent me a text letting me know when he was on his way and arrived in the time frame that he provided. He was able to diagnose the problem (iced over coils due to a malfunctioning defroster) and resolved the initial problem in about an hour. I provided partial payment for the service call, he is supposed to order the part and contact me to complete the rest of the service once he receives it. He and his assistant both wore masks at my request without any objection.
