    Awful experience. I came into the emergency at about 6:45 AM with problems breathing, chest tightness, chest pain, and tachycardia that had lasted the entire night. I wasn't able to sleep because my heart kept fluttering and I was having horrible pressure on my chest. Mind you, I also have a pacemaker and had a TIA a few weeks prior. I've barely slept the past 48 hours because of this but tonight it was unbearable. It was painful.
    Now, I know that things happen. I know things back up. I know that ambulance arrivals clog the system. But SOMETHING would've been better than NOTHING.
    I took one chest x-ray. Two blood samples. Waited in the emergency room for 6 hours, maybe 7. No one ever spoke to me at all. No one ever saw me. I called out of a doctor's appointment for this because I thought I would be seen. I called out of WORK for this. But whatever. I'm female with complaints of chest pain and everyone knows that automatically equals "anxiety". There are no other possible cardiac issues or respiratory problems that could come from that. Who cares about COVID (which I've caught) with that medical history? Who cares about influenza? "You're female and you're complaining of chest pain so that means anxiety so we don't have to listen to you or help you at all."
    If I wanted to be in a place where I would be stuck in a room and ignored I would've just STAYED HOME. Five hours into waiting to be seen, I asked if I could sign out. It was suggested I wait just in case because "a room should open up soon and you've been here a while so it shouldn't be long now!" I waited two more hours. Nothing.
    Seven. Hours. For NOTHING. RIDICULOUS. Fucking ridiculous.
