On or about January 16, 2025, my wife and I signed a contract with Presidential Heating and Air Conditioning, **** to install a $17,458 heat pump and air conditioning system. On Thursday, January 23, 2025 that system was installed. The next day we turned the system on and set the temperature to 70. The system functioned and achieved the predetermined setting with the heating element shutting down as it should; however, the air handler continued to run and would not shut down. We called the company and told them of our diffuculty. On January 28, a technician visited us, but was unable to fix the problem. He thought that the thermostat was not working properly. We called the company and requested that we needed a new thermostat, but was infomed that there were none in stock. We again called and with the help of the office manager a thermostat was found, but it was not untill February 5 that the same technician installed the device. The same problem continued. During the period from 1/28 to 2/5 we continued the run the system even though the air handler would not shut down. The same air handler problem continued. On 2/7, we shut down the system and used our pellet stove to heat our house. We want the problem fixed. I recently emailed the company restating our difficulty and suggested that they send afactory *** from ****** to fix it. Just an aside, the office manager and technician have been helpful

The complaint has been resolved. We installed a new HVAC system to the existing duct in the home. We replaced a straight air conditioner with a heat pump. The homeowner had a complaint of it running too long and was too loud. It turns out that some of the existing duct work that we connected to was too small and causing high static pressure in the system. This leads to excessive noise. The installers worked under the assumption the last unit worked for 20 years with no issue and the technician I dispatched there after was unsure how to diagnose an airflow problem. I went out and diagnosed the problem myself and the problem is already addressed. The homeowner is very happy and has no complaints. Feel free to reach out to them for their input. ***** ******* ************************************ ************

The company installed a new high end energy efficient green ******* furnace and heat pump in my home in early 2023. Because there was a manufacturer defect in the system, the company had to wait for the part and came out several times over a month or so to get the system running. Because of this problem, the Company never walked through the system features in a thorough manner. There was never a consistent point person and different people came at different times to finally get the system working. We simply raised and lowered the thermostat as needed. After a year of noticing that our new system wasnt producing lower bills we thought it had to do with utility cost inflation until we got a zinger of an electric bill earlier this winter. We have come to find out the system was set on electric only by the company technician that came out to diagnose the inflated electric bill. Allegedly, the heat pump is much more energy efficient and it would never turn on unbeknownst to us (its on the side of the house).I am not particularly skilled in the workings of a mechanical HVAC system. I wouldnt have any inclination to set the system as electric only. Presidential has resolved the issue on a going forward basis, but they refuse to take any responsibility for their mistake. I have no idea how to calculate the excess utility cost that we paid over a year but I imagine its at least $2,000, if not more. At one point they told me that they are not responsible and to call ******* because there are more than 200 settings in their system and it would be impossible to ensure each is correct. When I called *******, they were incredulous. They said there are not 200 settings and I need to go back to Presidential as they have responsibility to make sure the system is set up properly the way the customer wants the system to work. In summary, this seems like a very simple matter that they are trying to escape from responsibility. Its torture to get them to respond.
