I do not accept this response because he is lying about me being intoxicated & is fabricating his story. I was wearing expensive perfume, which has a stronger scent than regular ones. That being said it smells nothing like alcohol (Chanel Chance). I wear it around my clients & my clients wear it and not once has anyone said it resembles alcohol, it is clearly projection. I say projection because his hostile behavior was super erratic and his face was red and sweaty, as if HE was the drunk one. he was extremely hostile and made everyone extremely uncomfortable.

I've been warning all my clients and friends about him & his business. Come to find out my clients friend who is a southeast asian woman had a similar yet less stressful situation, she concluded (on her own) that he is indeed racist.

His excuse of me being intoxicated is a lie to cover up the FACT that he is racist. He judged me BEFORE i walked through the door. he made faces and grunts BEFORE he opened the door. this means he judged me & my boyfriend BEFORE he smelled the perfume. His excuse of "i care about my client and business so i won't pierce an intoxicated person" is a cover up on the fact that he is racist.

Also to note that it doesn't excuse him telling us that he enjoys being 'an asshole'. Which is true, he clearly does enjoy being one because we NEVER *pounded* on his glass door. I would love for him to provide security footage of proof of us *pounding* on his door. after we left we were waiting in the car. we never stepped near his building after we left. We ONLY stayed in the parking area.

He called 911 to play victim. The police agreed that he is extremely erratic and showed signs of violent behavior. i would love to provide BBB with proof as I can offer police assistance to back up this statement. They let him leave because he was 'an asshole' said & quoted by 3 different police officers. they apologized FOR him because he was being extremely emotional and unprofessional.

This business will get shut down either by BBB or by word of mouth. I've lived in frederick for a very long time & i work in the service industry for 5+ years. i know exactly how to treat clients with respect, not only is it the responsible thing to do, it is taught in school. We take TESTS about customer service, which he clearly failed.

We took down the Google reviews on our own, because he wrote a bunch of fake 5 star reviews immediately after to cover up our statements. this man is a hoax & a racist bigot who enjoys making people upset because he is so angry inside he needs to project that hate onto other people.

I do not accept this response because he is avoiding accountability on his racist mindset & actions.
tand here like an NPC" i immediately apologized and said i no longer want your service. i tried to leave but the door was locked so he walks over to unlock it. my boyfriend asks are you okay? why are you so rude to us? and then he says "I'm an ******* who enjoys making people unhappy"
we go outside and are speechless. we see him rushing to close shop & we confront him saying this is not how you treat people this is so disrespectful. he then states how i'm ugly & my perfume was too strong and claimed i am intoxicated.
i was not intoxicated & my perfume may have been too strong for him , that's fair. but he calls me ugly ? uncalled for. i defended myself saying how he's such an ******* & he says how i don't make enough money to be his client. Then says how he owns 4 business and my pay is nothing compared to his.
I have reason to believe he is racist. there's no way someone is judged before being spoken to. he judged us off of our looks. not only that but making disgusting claims and comments?

    Business Response

    Date: 01/20/2023

Often times when the other businesses on my strip are closed and late appointments are coming in, I do keep my door locked when no clients are in the building for my own safety. I have valuable jewelry, so this is just a safety protocol as everything at my shop is done by appointment. When appointment arrives, the door is unlocked.

The waiver/form that is posted as a barcode to be filled out is a legal consent form which needs to be read and filled out by the individual receiving the service or their legal guardian.

When this couple entered, I immediately could smell the alcohol on the woman receiving the piercing. After a moment of observing her behavior, along with the overwhelming smell, I came to the conclusion she was very likely under the influence of alcohol. It is not safe or responsible to perform a piercing on an intoxicated individual. This can lead to excessive bleeding and other complications. Along with this, our legally binding form becomes null and void if the individual filling it out is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Over my 15 years in piercing and 5 years owning my business in Frederick, I have only had to turn away less than 10 people for suspicion of intoxication.

I expressed my concern of intoxication and stated I would not be performing the piercing. These individuals then became irate, saying I have no right to decline services to them. They accused me of not wanting to work with them because of their ethnicity.

When they did leave the building, I locked myself inside to wait for them to leave before closing my business for the night (they were supposed to be my final appointment of the day). As I sat inside, they then came back and began pounding on the glass door, demanding I open it for them. I felt so unsafe I called 911. Police came and told them to leave the premises. This whole ordeal lasted approximately 15 minutes.

Over the next 2 days, I received a multitude of harassing reviews over Google and Yelp about this incident calling me racist, dirty, insulting my personal looks. Most of these reviews were removed for not fitting with community standards.
