I had a very bad experience with this company. They had me pay $500 for an appraisal which I was supposed to get reimbursed once The refinance goes thru. But the appraisal comes back at $35k the same value as an abandoned house around the corner from me. So a new hvac, bathroom, kitchen, updated electric and plumbing didn't add an value to the house? I spent more than 35k on the renovation of the house so now I'm just out of $500 and normally appraisals are around $300. Just stay away from themHomeside Financial Response

Per lending guidelines, an appraisal was needed that is completed by a third party, in which, we as a lender legally cannot have any influence. Disappointing experience! We were solicited by this company directly regarding a refinance. They told us they could get us great deals and help us with our goals. At the beginning things seemed to be moving along okay. We have had several very negative experiences with mortgage companies so this was hard for us to trust the process. Things were moving along okay for first few weeks. Then each visit I spoke with their chief Loan office Sunya V. 1 more goal we had communicated we needed to be able to achieve during this refi was not able to be achieved. There was never a clear reason for this. The process started to get very drawn out. We were suppose to be closing in January. I had a busy week at work a couple weeks after we had appraisal (which we incurred a cost of $500 doing and it was promised to us that we would be reimbursed this money at closing. My husband and I have been affected financially by COVID, we had not planned to refi when we did). After the appraisal, which came in 20-25k short of what we had previously had assessed, we were told we would be closing soon. After I missed a phone call from Sunya with an update. I had returned call but didn't get to a voicemail so I wasn't able to leave one. I tried to follow up with her last week to find out my file has been CLOSED!! I missed a phone call and with no notice they cancelled my file. Very frustrating and disappointing!! Go somewhere else with better service and follow thru. I wish I could give them -5.... These guys are cheat and they never send you the balance they owe to you. upon calling them, they will give you all false information and upon questioning them about the details, they will either hang up on you or close the chat connection too. They are holding my escrow payment for 6 weeks now since I had closed the loan with the full payment. I am going to take legal action against them and will seek compensation for this trauma and interest on my money which they are holding. If I could leave a ZERO star I would. Our "20-30 day refinancing" has turned into 120 Days! Being over charged, misleading, missing documents and still hasn't closed. This has lead to our documents "expiring" because it's past 30 days, our interest rate has gone up because our credit has changed (duh they pulled our credit) and our cash out has changed. This will lead to thousands of dollars in interest down the road. This has been the worst experience. I highly advise ANYONE thinking of working with them to reconsider.Homeside Financial Response

Terrible company. They had my flood insurance information incorrectly put in to the system, and no one notified me to let me know that they had not put out a check. Luckily, my flood insurance DID contact me, or I never would have known. That was a few weeks ago. I just received a letter in the mail from them letting me know that my home owners insurance had lapsed. This information they did have correct in their system. I am currently on hold trying to figure out why a check was not issued to my company.Homeside Financial Response

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! They in my experience they have drug the process of buying my dream home out as well as try to prevent me from purchasing my dream home. First red flag should've been that a land contract was signed and over a month and noone( my loan officer nor processor) was aware of it expiring and there being a possibility of me losing my land once it did. There was no sense of urgency once I did inform them of the contract( which was also in their possession), and was told "If the land is ment to be for me I will have it". The next issue was the appraiser they sent to appraise my 4.12 acres of land came back tremendously short at $22,000. The final straw was once I worked out that issue I was told originally my downpayment for closing cost would be roughly $5000. Then I was told $7000. Then I was told $15000. And lastly $20000 to close on a home valued at $127500. Keep your hard earned money, these are no people you want to work with who continue to lie!Homeside Financial Response
