Option 1 legal is not working in my best interest. They do not do their due diligence and do not negotiate on your behalf at the lowest price possible.On june 21, I got a settlement letter to pay off an account for $1053. I sent the letter in to option1 and I had 30 days to respond (by july 7). I contacted the bank to pay it off but they said because it is in litigation, they needed the company to contact them. Fine. I put it in option1 legals hand to take care of it. Because they didn't do their due diligence, and contact the company within 30 days, I'm now stuck paying $500 more than what I could have settled at. Who wouldn't be irate about that. I declined to settle at $1504.36 and told them to renegotiate. They then approved the offer on my behalf at $1504 after I just declined it and forced me into a payment plan. I signed with option 1 legal to resolve my debt in July of 2019 I had approximately 28k in debt they told me in **************************************************************** $20,328. I have since sold my house and when I called them to pay off all the debt they wouldn't and told me I couldn't or they could take legal action against me. They then told me to deposit $3500 into my account and they would be able to pay off creditors sooner I did and the money went too fees instead of debt. When I asked them for copies of the agreement I signed when I started this they tell me they will send it by email but I have yet to receive it. I just requested it for the 3rd time They have told me they have to extend my program even thought I have the money to pay it all off. they also won't give me a length of time that they want to extend it they ruined my credit and I'm actually paying more than the original debt I started with. How is a company able to run like this and make you think they can help and do more damage than ask you to trust them longer. I have completely completed the program never missed a payment but they didn't hold up to their end.Business Response

I signed up with option1legal through another company for debt settlement services. I knew this was going to be a challenge with the high fees, but never did I expect that they would be so dishonest with me since their pricing and fees were so upfront and forward with me. Every time I call, I get a different answer depending on who I talk to. Any way I figured I would stick through it and let them finish the program. However as I got towards the end of the program I did the calculations, and I knew that the amount of remaining withdrawals weren't going to add up to enough money once all the fees came out to settle the final debt so I contacted their CS department and I was told that at the end I would have an option to continue the payments or to let option 1 negotiate and pay the final creditor directly. My payments ended in April, and I waited to see if another payment came out in May and nothing came out. September comes around and suddenly they take out the monthly payment of $660.95 with no warning or communication to me that this was going to happen. This really messed up my bank account as I was not expecting this money to come out of my account and had to delay paying some important bills and negotiate with those companies until I could get the funds together. I contacted them on October 11, 2022 and told them I could not afford this and to please stop the payments. The women I spoke to said she couldn't stop the payments if I remained in the program. I said fine I want out of the program. She said Well you only have one creditor left it would be faster if you just drop that creditor. I said OK let's do that then. She took the confirmation, and she told me I should expect this to be processed and have a refund issued for money in the account between Oct 17 and Oct 21. Well instead of that they have tried to charge me again causing a NSF fee. I want what's left of my money.Business Response

Back in 2016 I was going through the roughest part with divorce & had no health insurance & at that time was going to be fined if I didn't take health insurance so unfortunately I had to seek Obama care health insurance which i could not afford so unfortunately I had to put the almost $400 a month on my credit card which led me to huge credit card debt & this company reached out to me stating they could help & being I was ready for a nervous breakdown not knowing how to handle my debt cause I always pay my debt I didn't know what else to do? They PROMISED me a certain time frame of 3 years with a payment of $443.00 a month! I am now 3 1/2 years into the program & I was notified I now have to pay one of my credit cards directly $268.00 a month for atleast a year plus still pay them the $443.00! They only paid one small credit card so far at $1,400! Where is the rest of my $15,000+ money I already paid them!!!??? I definitely feel I was scammed & I'm so beyond upset because the way the economy is now I in noway can afford any more money to pay this debt! I feel they are misleading & liars , they ran my credit card bill up with interest & fees with not paying when I was paying them, I just wish now I would of dealt with the credit card companies directly! But now I paid all this money & only paid $1,400 on my debt! I feel they should give me back some of the money I paid them so I can pay off some of this debt!Business Response

I signed with Option 1 Legal in August 2019 for assistance with paying off my credit card debt. I had around 16,000 worth of debt. I had a monthly payment and they were to help settle those debts for me. It's now 3 years later, they have helped settle 1 debt completely and took thousands in charges. I enrolled 5 credit cards with them.
Their estimate was off by thousands of dollars.
No one should ever use this company. They don't call you back. The last time I made a complaint, they had a guy call me and he was threatening and made promises he didn't keep. They still want me to keep paying, after he told me he would get them settled and I would pay out of pocket for them.
I paid them to help settle my debts, they did not come through.
I had to settle one that was taken to court because the firm said Option 1 Legal never contacted them to settle it.Business Response

Option 1 contacted me and we agreed to a settlement of 3000.00 on November 1st. I signed all the papers and sent them back. It is now December and they have not sent the check, they said they would. I would like to know my options at this point. I call and am on hold everyday for atleast 10 minutes and no one answers. I have e-mailed them and no one responds.
Please help me.

This company should be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!! I just like everyone else on here have been totally scammed for $15,000 + since I started my 42 month contract in July of 2019!! I've had only 2/10 debts resolved for a total of $2900 and the rest have been fees to Option 1, Global Holdings, and oh yeah the other people that settled the debt NOT Global Holdings that I paid $8000 to do their job ! This place is a huge SCAM and saves you nothing as I could've paid off my own debt by now! And their is no communication from them with you about your account! I've sent in several documents since April 2021 that have yet to be looked at and now my wages are being garnished because what I PAID THEM TO DO THEY DIDNT EVEN DO! I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!!Business Response
