The Travel Center was contacted on August 18, 2016 concerning a pattern of complaints alleging the business did not provide refunds in accordance to their policy, failed to provide courteous and effective customer service, and further failed to provide clear, concise terms and conditions to the use of the services provided by the business.  Complaints filed claim refunds promised were not received, and more often refund requests were denied.  Many complaints assert problems with customer service, including but not limited to difficulty contacting the business, being able to resolve issues directly with the business, and discourteous customer service agents.  Other complaints also contend that they were not provided with the terms and conditions of the use of the services of The Travel Center, nor was the role of the business clearly presented in the processing of vacation certificates.

On August 30, 2016 the BBB received a response from the business stating that they believed that not all of the consumer complaints filed against them are their consumers; that their role is merely to accept an "activation fee" and "assign a discounted vacation booking company."  Further, "The fees that The Travel Center collects are to cover the fees that we pay to the booking company to process the customers vacation request."  They further notified the BBB that as of December 2015 they have "...not accepted any activation fees for any types of vacations that require certain restriction/guidelines."

Lastly, The Travel Center notified BBB that by the end of 2016 they intend to cease all operations.  The BBB will continue to monitor complaint activity and update The Travel Center Business Profile as new information becomes available.
