My mother has been living in a Meridian Assisted Living facility in Minot, ND in October of 2022. They advertised, marketed and promised a service that has not been fulfilled during this time. The service is a pendant that the resident is supposed to wear and if they are in need of assistance, they press the button and someone will arrive to assist them. In the 8 months that my mom has lived there, it has most likely been in operable condition less than 30 days total. They continue to offer excuses as to why they cannot get this item fixed. In the meantime, my mom and many other residents are left with a feeling of not being safe in their own apartment, not knowing if someone will be there to help them in case of care needed or emergency. Imagine paying over $4500.00 a month and one of the most important safety features is not being adhered to as promised.

I would like to continue to pursue this case.  The company has since offered my mother a internet dependent 'pendant' option which works when the internet is working.  I have since found out that three other residents are also in the same position with similar pendant.  The management company has since terminated the Executive Director and the Maintenance Manager due to their continued complaints of safety and security requests not being fulfilled.

Even though the Management company offered a full one-month credit, we did decide to have my mother move out of the assisted living facility due to extreme safety concerns.  We are aware of multiple residents leaving there as well.

I have medical POA over my mother who moved to Worthington Manor (Managed by Meridian Senior Living on June 29th. Her name is ***************************. Since that time we have repeated asked both the lead nurse (who has apologized and confirmed the issue would be corrected) as well as management Megan C******************* to correct their descriptions of services they are providing to my mom (and getting paid for) in the needed paperwork to my mother's long term insurance company ********. After trying to get them again to correct, the phone call today can be summarized by Megan stated this paperwork to submit to insurance is not their responsibility or problem and it is up to the family to file. This is the manger of the facility telling me that for $8,000/month they are only doing this as a courtesy. Bottom line is insurance will not take this documentation from a family member for obvious reasons. We have an incompetent manager that is not contractually completing her basic assignment linked to the care of my mother. We explained yet again that this insurance has been paid into for over 20 years and was a critical factor in affording the facility at Worthington. This was also shared at length before my mom moved there. There team seems disconnected with reality and responsibility. We need them to talk directly with the case manager at ********. We gave them her direct number and email today to get this paperwork backdated and updated properly. They did not have any of this information before today, just excuses about fax machines and security on the email. The email has been used by them already according to ******** (***********************)My mom was brought to this facility because she is indignant, can not take her own meds, will not eat unless instructed to and needs help with showers, dressing and cleanup.
