August 13th they came to take down 2 trees. Nice people,hard workers. There machines really ripped up my grass and yard. I reached out and they said they would fix it. Noone will call me back after many messages given to front desk person. It's been 9 days since job.Customer Answer

Maryland Tree Experts was hired by our neighbor to take down a tree, but their crew caused extensive damage to our property and behaved in a completely unacceptable manner.They damaged our mature Japanese maple and broke a section of our fence while trespassing on our property. Their workers were not wearing proper safety equipment, showing zero regard for industry standards or safety.Most disturbingly, several of their workers exposed himself and urinated behind our housein clear view of our home while our children were present. This is beyond unprofessional. Its indecent and inexcusable.Despite calling, sending photos and video, and leaving multiple messages, no one from Maryland Tree Experts has responded to acknowledge or address the damage. Weve received no apology, no follow-up, and no attempt to make things right.If you care about safety, professionalism, and basic decency, avoid Maryland Tree Experts at all costs. To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to formally reject the response submitted by Maryland Tree Experts regarding my recent complaint.
While the company did pay $3,000 in cash to compensate for damage to my fence and tree, this payment only partially addresses the broader and more serious concerns I raised. The following critical issues remain completely unaddressed:
Unlawful Trespassing:
Maryland Tree Experts entered my property without permission. This is a legal violation and was not authorized in any form.
Refusal to Identify Themselves or Provide Insurance:
When I approached the crew to identify themselves or provide any insurance documentation, they refused to do so. This raises questions about the legitimacy and professionalism of their operations.
Public Indecency in the Presence of ************************* members urinated in clear view of my childrenan act that is not only grossly unprofessional but may rise to the level of criminal conduct depending on state law. The neighbor they were hired by even offered her bathroom whenever they needed it.
Lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Seven members of the crew worked without proper PPEspecifically no helmets, safety eyewear, or other OSHA-required gear. This is clearly documented on video. If reported to ****, this incident would likely result in a serious citation and fine. It is my position that this incident should be self-reported to **** by the company to uphold minimum safety standards and accountability in this industry. I was extremely worried for the safety of these employees.
The companys attempt to resolve this matter by referencing a cash paymentwithout acknowledging or taking responsibility for these additional serious violationsis wholly insufficient and unacceptable. Furthermore, the owner refused to connect with me directly, clearly not taking responsibility for the actions of his employees, which speaks volumes about their unethical behavior and the disturbing act of exposing themselves in public and around children.
I respectfully request that the BBB keep this complaint open and unresolved until Maryland Tree Experts addresses all issues outlined above in a responsible and documented manner.

I hired this company to cut down 3 trees and to leave them in manageable lengths so I could split them for firewood. Some of the trees were ok and then some were not. I spoke to the company representative, and he said next time they are in the area they stop by. I have received multiple flyers from that they will be area if any work done, they are answering my texts and emails. In July 2024 we received a flyer in the mail from Maryland Tree Experts. The flyer has four different offers, one of which says "SIGN SAME DAY $250 OFF. MUST BE APPLIED AT TIME OF SIGNING". So we have a tree in our front yard we need to cut down. We contacted this company, they came out and gave us an estimate. ****** ********* was the gentlemen that came to our home and he said to cut down the tree was $600, to remove the *****, $200. So we filled in the contract they provided and filled in these amounts. And when I was filling in the contract, I told ****** that we had a coupon/flyer we received in the mail for $250 off, and asked where should I input that information on the contract. But when I presented the flyer to him, he told me he already gave us a discounted price and could not honor the flyer (even though that is what the coupon says!) So I thought this was not fair or right, and they were not honoring the coupon they are sending out in the mail. So my husband called Eamonn and spoke with him. By the end of the conversation Mr. ********* said "so you expect us to come and cut down the tree and the ***** for $800?" And my husband said yes, because that is what your flyer indicates (and really it would have been $550 if they took $250 off $800. But my husband asked them to honor their advertisement and do the whole job for $800). So Eamonn wasn't happy about that, but he said ok. But when I reached out to him to schedule this job, the first time I texted him he said he was on the road all day and couldn't look at the schedule. Weeks went by, I texted him again saying I wanted to schedule a date to have this tree cut down, he never responded to my text. And my husband called their office and left a message there trying to get someone to call up back to schedule this, and no one ever responded. I feel this is not right! We are trying to get this company to honor their advertisement and complete this job for $800.Initial Complaint

****, my neighbor and I hired Maryland Tree Experts. I wanted to trim the dead limbs that were a danger to our roofs. **** was having 3 trees cut down (1 was located in my yard) We both had separate contracts. Todds crew showed up first on 7/27/2024. They decided to start on the tree that was in my yard. They set up their equipment in my yard. They not only made a total mess of my lawn, driving the vehicle that picks the fallen wood, (some of the ruts are almost a foot deep), they also managed to drop a really big limb on my roof that put a large hole through the shingles and plywood.I called the company, got an recording, left a message telling them what happened and they needed to get it repaired quick. I went outside to show the crew leader a picture of the hole. He was on the phone with his boss, he put me on speaker phone. THIS MAN told me he was not responsible because his crew leader told him the hole was already there!!! How insulting! He was never on my roof, always on the ground managing the ropes, and if that was true and saw a hole, why didn't he take his own picture as ******** NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! Turns out the incident with the hole in my roof never got reported to the company. The crew boss lied, never notified the office.

I scheduled an appointment with Maryland Tree Services. The appointment was poorly organized, poor communication with workers, and the sales rep, Mario, was disrespectful (re: hung up the phone). I emailed the company and asked to speak to the owner. The owner asked a supervisor, Pete, to call and address the issue. He finally called. When we spoke, he was polite and appeared to be responsive. I thought the issue would be resolved. However, it was all smoke and mirrors. I had an appointment scheduled two weeks ago on a Saturday, and Pete called the day before asking to reschedule due to expected rain. We scheduled to today, May 14th. I waited until today because I was off. And, I had another project available (re: I needed to stain the driveway). An appointment between 10 - 11 am was set. When it got close to 10:00 am, Pete called me and asked if he could come between 4:00 - 5:00 pm. I said that would be in inconvenience but I what could I do because I needed the work done (re: my daughter's prom send off is Friday). Then, it started raining so the afternoon appointment could not happen. I waited to do my work and waited for the tree down, and nothing was able to able. Pete did not call. Instead, he texted to say he was still committed to getting the done. This level of disregard for the work and my time is totally unacceptable.Initial Complaint

Our Company was hired to Trim 3 trees back to the original cuts. Our crew went out on 4/24/24, they started the first tree and they cut part of the tree back to the original cut, they were not finished cutting the tree when Mrs. ****** came home, she was very upset and stopped the crew from doing anymore work, Mr. ****** said that is where the original cut was and he was ok with it but Mrs. ****** was not happy and she would not let the crew finish the job, she told the crew to leave her property, therefore the job was not completed due to Mrs. ****** not allowing the crew to finish the job.Customer Answer

Called for estimate. Appointment for estimate 5/16/23 @5:45pm no show - no call till 6:10 new appointment made for Thursday 18th @ 5pm, they come & tell me they dont suggest grooming my 2 Spurs Trees but to remove them completely & I have to get rid of everything after they dig it up. Plus removal of tree in backyard. Appointment set for next day (Friday 19th between 3:30-4pm. At 5pm no arrival & no call, at 5:30 I reachout to be told the crew clocked out & company had no idea they didnt show??? I call to speak to **** he says he had no *********** will not compensate any inconvenience for us but would come Saturday around same time- SHORT STORY I canceled after reviewing several claims , complaints & issues with lack of quality, ************************* issues with valid compliance. The complainant had a scheduled estimate on 5/18/23, the estimator arrived and she informed him that she wanted a price to trim 2 trees and a price to remove the 2 trees. The estimator did not tell her she needed to move anything. The complainant agreed to the removal estimate, her job was scheduled for 5/19/23 and she was given a window of 4pm-6pm, we try to estimate the time frame to the best of our knowledge but on this instance the customer prior to the complainant, their job took a little longer then anticipated, when the estimator found out he contacted the complainant and she agreed to reschedule the job for 5/20/23 between 3pm-5pm, everything was fine at this point, about 30 minutes later the estimator received a call from the complainants daughter being very rude and demanding that they receive compensation for their trouble, the estimator informed the complainants daughter that he had already given her a 25% discount and could not discount the job anymore, the complainants daughter became very vulgar and told the estimator to cancel the job for 05/20/23, so we canceled the job as she requested.
