- BBB requested Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) licensing information from Mr. Burton and was told by Mr. Burton that he was only doing commercial roofing and did not require a license. On 11-4-10 after review of the company's website, BBB "shopped" the company asking if the company would repair a residential roof and was told "yes". Residential roofing requires a MHIC license with the MD Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation and the company is currently operating without a license. BBB encourages consumers to check a company's licensing before doing business with them and also encourages them to report licensing issues to BBB and MHIC.
