I want to give 0 or negative 0 stars. Spaulding group bought and acquired not only our rental property; All our maintenance issues were never fixed, instead after months of a maintenance request being submitted, eventually the maintenance request would be changed in the portal as completed. The 1st year they had taken over the lease per year increased by $150 a year; The original company midland rentals did not require us to pay per month for our cat. However when we signed the lease for the new company \the rent increased by $150 and we had to pay $30/mo for a cat. The rental agreement at the end of the lease stated that the TOTAL rent per month was $1130; prior in that lease it had a clause that for a pet there was an increase of $30 a month. So when Signing the lease that $1130 was our total, and the rent for pet deposit was $30 I mean we just assumed, not even assumed, just made sense that rent was $1100 and pet deposit made it $1130.
We always paid are rent, with automatic payments in the website’s portal. Every month from April 1st to November 2nd we paid our rent in full; the website portal had our total rent as $1130. Which we paid and the amount went down to 0. Every month! Then November 2nd we are randomly sent a notice that gives us 11 days to evacuate and leave our apartment because we were under an eviction notice of not paying $240…. Which was because our rent was $1130 which did not include our pet rent of $30 so the total we should have been paying since April was $1160.
The lease we signed stated a TOTAL of 1130, that included the pet clause! All of a sudden apparently someone realizes that an employee of the company messed up and we were not being charged the full amount with the pet deposit. SO instead of contacting us and explaining the situation they sent us eviction notices for not paying the extra pet deposit amount that THEY messed up! We paid our rent in full every month and it went down to $0 every MONTH!
