- LC 9/10/2019- the business owner advised that he does not perform residential contracting...see response below (I am a sole proprietor with a commercial business that does not require MHIC licensing, as I do not perform residential repairs. On occasion, I will help friends and/or family with residential repairs. Recently, a friend asked me to help repair his friends chimney, which was on a residential property. They elected to pay me for the help because I saved them almost $2,000. I am fully-insured for my commercial business. Again, I do not need an MHIC as I do not perform residential repairs.)
