As part of an ongoing project in my sunroom, I received and accepted a proposal for a sliding patio door with clear double pane tempered glass, insert blind, standard colors on November 1, 2023. (The proposal included the installation of a vinyl window, but it is only the door that is relevant to this complaint.) The total cost was $6,117.87. I put down a deposit for half ($3,059) on November 3, 2023. There was never a mention made of the name of the manufacturer. The order took a very long time to arrive at my house and I periodically texted with the Project Manager *************************** for a status. What was promised me in about 2 weeks finally arrived in December, and the door was installed on December 12, 2023. The door was supposed to come with a screen door. I notified **** of that and it was installed on December 18, 2023. I made final payment of $3,058.87 on the door and window on December 21, 2023. At the time of installation, all of the functions on the door (luvers for the blinds, lock, handle) were demonstrated and worked as advertised. On February 13, 2024, I went to raise the blinds on the sliding patio door and the sliding mechanism to raise the right side of the blinds moved about halfway down and then disengaged from its bracket and slid freely all the way down. The blinds, which were being raised, dropped back down to their starting point as well. The same mechanism for the left side worked fine and raised those blinds. I tried it several times again and also the next day with the same result. I texted **** about the issue and never received a reply. I then emailed *********************, the owner of Handyman Connection, on THREE occasions and STILL have not received a response. Handyman Connection, on their website, guarantees its work for one (1) year. I want the mechanism repaired to proper working order.

I went over to Ms. ****** home to see what the issue was with the sliding door we installed in her sunroom. Her complaint was regarding the closing and opening mechanism controlling the blinds contained within the door unit. When she operated the opening mechanism the blinds both opened and closed. No further action is to be taken on behalf of my company.

This is in reference to my complaint #********. I have been in touch with the owner of this establishment and am satisfied with our resolution. Therefore, I would like to retract this complaint that I filed with you.

I appreciate that, as consumers, we can contact the Better Business Bureau to report complaints against business establishments and brand and know that it will be taken seriously and be addressed in an expediate manner.  Thank you for your assistance.
