9/28 - dropped off my wifes car to fix the backup camera they said 85 to diagnose that will be put back into the car if we have them do the work - they said they had to reinstall head unit - then they called back and said they needed another backup camera - then they called back and said they needed another piece to install head unit - and now we have a vehicle that has no working buttons on the head unit and they blamed it on us saying it was like that NO IT WAS NOT thats not even why I came in there. All they did was charge me more and more for just wanting a backup camera looked at and they never took off the diagnostic amount. - also they kept pressing me to bring cash, I asked why, they said so they dont have to claim the sale and can pocket the money.. Its businesses like this that give other small businesses a bad name!

    Business Response

    To Whom It May Concern,

Good afternoon. I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing in response to a ********* filed by one of our customers, which contains several inaccuracies and omissions. We would like to provide a clear and truthful account of the situation.

The customer brought their vehicle to our shop to address an issue with their backup camera. Upon inspecting the vehicle, we found that the radio was non-functional, a fact we immediately communicated to the customer. The customer confirmed that the radio was not working before we began any work. We also made it clear that our system check was not a guaranteed fix and that any parts or reinstallation required would incur additional charges, which the customer acknowledged.

Upon reviewing the used radio and backup camera the customer had brought in, we discovered that the radio installation had been improperly done, with several missing components, including the harness and antenna adapter. Additionally, a critical part needed to restore the functionality of the backup camera was missing. We promptly informed the customer of these issues, detailing what was needed to fix the camera, and the customer authorized us to proceed with the necessary repairs.

During the removal of the radio, we discovered sticky yellow residue inside the unit, which we informed the customers wife about when they arrived. After properly installing both the radio and the backup camera, we confirmed that everything we worked on, including the stereo and backup camera, was functioning correctly. Upon the customers return, we asked them to inspect the work, and they expressed satisfaction at that time.

The customer later returned, claiming that the radio volume buttons were not working. However, we did not handle or modify the buttons during our service. The customer also stated that everything was working when the vehicle was brought in, despite having previously confirmed to us that the radio was not functional.

Additionally, the customer alleged that we requested payment in cash to avoid official documentation, which is completely false. We provided the customer with multiple payment options, all of which are documented in receipts that are both given to the customer and retained for our records. It would be illogical to suggest we intended to keep the transaction off the books while also providing an official receipt. When Mr. ********* wife saw the situation and asked me what was happening, I explained it to her but was cut off by her husband who was shouting from his car and repeatedly threatening to "Beat my a** if I spoke to his wife." in the middle of the parking lot in front of our staff and other customers.

In conclusion, the Mr.********* ********* does not accurately reflect the work we performed, nor does it warrant a refund. The services requested were completed as agreed, and all relevant documentation was provided. We have signs on the walls inside of our office stating that when bringing equipment from outside of the store, if the equipment does not function after proper installation, a refund will not be offered because the installation is being charged not the sale of the product.

We appreciate your time and attention to this matter. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Sincerely,

On May 24th 2023 i went to safe n sound to get a radio i bought from ****** installed and tints on my car i paid 360 dollars upon returning i noticed white marks on the driver side window, i was not really concerned but I did think it was strange the radio worked fine but yesterday while driving the radio glitched to where it needed to be restarted and the only way to restart it is to turn the car off and back on i turned the key and took it out only to see my radio still on with the engine off which means they hooked the radio up directly to my battery....which is draining my battery when i popped the hood i seen the red cord upon calling to ask why they did i was told i need a receipt when i don't have one and that they "don't normally do that"

We're very sorry to hear about the issues you are having. We pride ourselves in our professional installations and connecting a radio directly to the battery is both unprofessional and potentially dangerous. It is very unlikely that our technicians installed it that way. We are more than happy to review the installation in case a mistake was made but as written on the receipt that you signed, as well as several signs in the store, we cannot do any warranty work without the receipt. The receipt we provide our customers details exactly what we did so without the receipt, there is no way to prove what work we did on your vehicle. We can still check the installation to see if we can fix the issue, but without the receipt it will cost our diagnostic fee. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any more concerns.
