I think this company steals money they are not entitled. If you book here and your flight gets canceled they will not return any of your money. I would understand keeping a night of the stay but all $562.00, I think this is gross negligence. If I was you I wouldn't pay ahead to stay here.Review from Craig N

My wife was in *****, ** on vacation and experienced an emergency situation at the place she was staying. She panicked and thought she should leave and go to a hotel, so she booked a room at the *****, ** location of Royal Sonesta at 7:30pm on the night of March 1st, 2024 for that evening. In her haste she accidentally booked two reservations. The emergency situation subsided and she was unable to come and take the room. This hotel charged her a one night cancellation charge for each room - $1,100 total for a room she couldn't use. Assuming it was just an automatic "no show" charge we called and explained the situation. We couldn't imagine a hotel would hold her to two nights charges that were accidentally booked at 7:30pm the night of the intended stay, especially since the hotel was not full that evening and the reservations she accidentally made clearly cost the hotel nothing - no lost revenue, no housekeeping, etc. The front desk clerk was empathetic and checked with "management" and the reply was, "that is our policy and there is nothing we can do."They are absolutely right. That is their policy and it would make sense if we had booked a room months or weeks in advance and then canceled at the last minute. But, there is something they could have done. Hi.My name is ***************************** and I was stayed in the Nautilus *********** between 20th march until 27 march in Room 742.I am sending this message to say that I was checking my check out invoice and I have noticed that you charged me the Valet 14 times!I was stayed in the hotel for only 7 nights and the front desk told me that the valet would charge 7 times of $49,00 and it was charged this amount 14 times!I need my refund immediately because theres a big mistake on that or I will look for my rights next week.Name: ***************************** Room: 742 Arrival date: 03.20.24 Departure: 03.27.24 Looking Forward for your response.Review from Hailey E

I had well over ******* Sonesta Points as I rented out over a 1/4 of the entire hotel for months on end while working on an apartment complex remodel and needed to relocate the tenants temporally. I was using my points to save up for a grand trip with my daughter to **. ******. I guess the fine print says your points expire after two years. My highly unfortunate mistake, but they did refund me ******* points so my grand trip was simplified to three days in ***********. ****** learned. I would have loved to stay four days, but they have no way to purchase more points, unlike ********. So three days it is. I look on their website, and they have loads and loads of room options. As none were marked as unavailable for point usage, I assumed I was good to good. Spend $900 in airfare, $300 on a car, called them to book the room and alas, they don't have any available. Turns out it was my fault again for not understanding how their poorly constructed platform runs. I'm so so so bummed, and ask for a manager. Turns out they don't have managers. Asked for a supervisor. They have no supervisors. Asked for a complaint department. Turns out they don't have one of the those either. She says she will send a form in and maybe, at some unknown time, someone will get back to me but she doesn't really know how that works. I'm so beyond heartbroken and what a poorly run company. I travel a lot and I guess I will stick with Marriott because these days, customer service is everything and ********************** has failed repeatedly.Review from SMars

I stayed at The Allegro Royal Sonesta in August 2023 and brought home bed bugs. It was a nightmare and an expensive ordeal. I wrote to them identifying everything that happened and itemized the costs as soon as I realized what I was dealing with. Their response was horrible. They told me that they have no legal responsibility because I did not prove that it was Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel, other than it was the only hotel where I had stayed and shortly after my stay I was being bit by bed bugs. I have never had bed bugs and was horrified when I identified the issue. The claims specialist, ******************, was an ineffective communicator and represented Royal Sonesta Hotels as not caring about their guests. I recommend that people do not stay at any Royal Sonesta hotel - ever. This is precisely the attitude that creates distrust and I am certain that ************ represents Royal Sonesta hotels, and the hotel leaderships perspective.Review from Nayanna J

Terrible service!!!!!! The front desk staff i believe are ******* and treat ********** very differently than other guests. We paid for early check in but upon getting there the front desk manager stated he did not see the early check in requests after we provided proof. He then tried to put us in a dirty room and after coming back down to complain, he then called housekeeping to clean a room but we would have to wait a few hours. That was one incident, two days into our stay, we called the front desk who stated housekeeping was booked and we couldn't get our room cleaned because of that which is ridiculous. I asked to speak to a manager and she kept sending me to a busy line. After calling 3 times she calls back and says someone will be up to clean my room with an attitude. The only nice staff they have is a young bellhop y the name of Cody. he was really helpful in making our time the best. Beautiful hotel but terrible staff and management. I would highly suggest booking somewhere else.Review from Nic P

I found BLOOD on the bedsheets and they refused to refund my money. Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary that if I hadnt pulled back the blanket to look, I wouldve been sleeping in somebody elses bodily fluids because Sonesta doesnt change their sheets for every customer. I stayed at Sonesta Select *********** ********************** from 12/27 12/31, where I actually stayed with them. The original dates were 12/27/23 1/4/24. However, we experienced a family emergency which caused us to cut our vacation short and travel to *******. After speaking with the manager to learn about our options, we were told that we could check out 12/31/23, and be refunded for the remainder of the stay. When asked for a check-out receipt, we were denied. After several conversations between our third-party booking site and Sonesta Selects manager and and learning that the early check-out was acceptable and the remainder of the payment for the original reservation would be refunded, we returned to *******. We checked into Sonesta Simply Suites ******* Gwinnett Place from 12/31 - 1/7. Our third-party booking site was unsuccessful in helping us get a refund for those dates not spent at Sonesta Select because they were unable to get in touch with the site manager. Then, I got another message from the third-party booking site that said the manager did not approve the refund because we had not checked outalthough we did check out with that same manager, asked for a receipt and were denied a receipt for our check-out because she said our third-party booking site would have to issue us a receipt. Not only did Sonesta Select *********** ********************** charge ** for the days we spent at their establishment, but they also charged us the full amount of the entire stay on January 4, 2024, for $692.71 on my account and another $326.79 on my fiancs account. I have left several messages for the manager to return my call. Still, no results. This was the worst experience that I have had with a hotel that claimed to be understanding and flexible in response to our family emergency. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Please beware of this company. The unprofessionalism, lack of communication, infidelity, and pure lies were not on my Christmas list!Sonesta International Hotels Corporation Response

This guest was refunded to the card on file, he called back to the hotel and wanting us to change the refund to a different card. I explained to the guests that we were not able to do that. He was clearly upset because. Please close the case.Review from William M

I checked in the room today seventeen hundred dollars for a month paid in advance I was there 3 hours the room smells absolutely disgusting. The betting smells like it's been used. It will make you gag. I called the front desk and told them I would like to leave. I would like a refund of my $1700. They told me there is no refund. The man had a very nasty attitude. Then he called **************** on me and Had me trust past off the property. The police and the hotel staff made me leave in the middle of the night. It is 38 outside. The hotel. Took my last $1700 off my card and told me that it's not refundable. The man that called the police told me he was the general manager of some sort. This is how they treat their guests at sanesta in ********, ****. The man needs fired. He falsified a police report and told the police that he feels threatened by me. Sonesta in *******, on Poplar street. The first time was good. I am a patient of ************ that his office connects to the hotel. It was very convenient and the room was clean. The next time I stayed this year 2023, the key reader didn't work so you had to have the staff let you in and out of your room. The bathroom and sheets were clean. The bathroom floor& kitchen was so dirty it was sticky got cleaning wipes, etc. I booked for 12,2,23 thru 12/8/23 and could not get a conformation from email from the front desk, I finally went to your direct line to book my reservation. Sent me a copy by email later. I called the front desk to verify my reservation, they told me didn't have one for me, so I booked again with the front desk, thinking my online was cancelled or never made. They finally sent a confirmation. I check in 12/3/23, they gave me a different quote, the room was dirty, loud partying, the hallways smelled like pot and it seemed the only guests staying were the staff, saw the dr. on 12/4 could not do surgery so wanted to check out early on 12/5 and go back home. The front desk said it was fine and they would email me a receipt beings I was leaving before the front desk opened. Never received . I realize on 12/8 that I was thanked and charged for 5 not for the 2. I get the run around from the staff, I file a dispute with the main office and was told it was up to the manager to refund un-stayed nights and if they declined there was nothing they could do.. They ran my card thru on 11-8-23 before I had even checked in. Do not stay at this horrible place. They are a total rip off. I have told the *************** they should not recommend.
