      I booked a room at the ***************************** on Feb ******* for a trip in June 2025. They billed my credit card in April *******, 2 months later, not at the time of purchase or when I got there. Because of this my credit card company flagged it as fraud. Which is exactly what they should have done. When I went to check on my reservation before arriving they cancelled my stay because of this. I explained the situation to the front desk. He states that rooms are charged a head of time and that charges are placed by hand. I stated I understand that but it was billed 2 months after I booked and 3 months before I arrived, which looks like fraud. He states there is nothing he can do. Of course no manager was available. When I asked about re-booking rooms he stated that there were none available and would not do anything for me regarding this issue. Horrible Service. I will never book with Sonesta again

      This location is horrible first, let me start up with saying I stayed at this Sonesta suites May 26, 2024 I moved here with my daughter that 17 and my mother, shes *************** this room for approximately one hour before the *** and police showed up at the door The room was under surveillance prior to us getting there for *** trafficking So we had the *** in the police at our door, interrogate us and questioning us for the previous guest because the concierge wasnt at the desk so theyjust walked by and came to the room So thats not even the worst part they got there at about 730PM and stayed around until like 12AM we were so uncomfortable with the situation that Sonesta had put us in that we got up and left at 6:30 in the morning But I instantly went to the desk and asked them for a different room and explained to them that they were at the door because that roomwas involved in *** trafficking. I was told they didnt have a different room to accommodate us, but they would give me a refund in the morning And To add insult to injury here we are in march 2025 and I havent got a refund ******* and Via are two of the worst people Ive ever spoke with in my life to be managers Via told me that that they did what they were told by the police, but not taking ownership of the police were there for the previous guest and not the presentguest so he pretty much said that thats what it happened and theres nothing theyre gonna do about it and hung the phone up in my face I would advise anybody thats thinking of staying here whether its in transition of finding your place or just need a place to stay for the night look elsewhere. You deserve better service. There is horrible. The concierge is Never present at the desk For the price you Are paying look elsewhere where they actually respect their customers and no right from wrong wont find out at this location

      Very clean hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. ATM in the lobby, Rooms were quiet and large. The price was reasonable. The hotel is close to stores, and restaurants.

      Sonesta Essentials in Des Moines Extremely rude and mean during our stay. Lost our deposit. Called my boyfriend ugly. Told us not to come back and then flipped my boyfriend off as we left. We were good guests: polite, quiet, and cleaned up after ourselves. It wasn't my fault they lost our deposit. Would have complained to the manager, but he was standing right there when the employee did it. I should have asked for my money back, but figured if it was that much of a hassle to get my deposit, there was no way to get a refund.

      Awful experience. I "stayed" here for the ****** ***** concert the night of the 27th. Check in was at 4:00. When I arrived at 5:00 my room was not ready, and this was the case for several other guests. I needed to shower and get ready for the concert so they let me use the gym to shower. There were no clean towels so I had to dry off with my dirty clothes. There were several other guests in the gym getting ready for the concert because they were also without rooms. There was no safe place for me to leave my bags (and laptop) so I left my stuff with a random lady who was staying at the hotel while her daughter's went to the concert. My room was still not ready when I left for the concert around 6:45. I did not get into my room until almost midnight. I left at 9 AM. Stayed there for a whole 9 hours. I can appreciate that this was a special event so they were busy, but this is *********** and they have special events there all the time. They should have been prepared to receive their guests, but they were not. DO NOT STAY HERE!

      Please listen to the voice recording that I shared on ****** maps. This is the sound that you hear all night if you sleep on the 16th floor.1. Placed me into the worst room next to the elevator machinery that woke me up multiple times at night. This almost caused heart attack. They had other room options but still placed me here.2. When I called in asking about the sound, they immediately told me its the elevator machinery. The phone operator (not the front desk) told me they had customers who love this noise. Its my problem that I dont. This is the most interesting phone call experience.I wish I have the phone call recording, but please listen to the video before you choose here.

      I have booked following two separate consecutive stays three months in advance on Booking.com (details at the bottom of this message).When we arrived at the hotel on the evening of Friday August 2nd, we were informed by the frontdesk employee ***** that the hotel was fully booked and they wouldn't be able to honor our reservation.The hotel employee was completely indifferent to the situation and acted as a regular business practice. He admitted that they have overbooked the day on purpose, and it was a standard practice to overbook on a regular basis.He asked us to call Booking.com for a refund, and acknowledged that there would be no availability in surrounding towns for the evening and offered no solution for our inconvenience.On top of that, the clerk also admitted that our following reservation was also not guaranteed and we will mostly to face same situation when we come back the following day for our second booking. Again, he was simply most unapologetic and indifferent for our suffering.There were in fact no available lodging option anywhere in town or surrounding cities. I have been on the phone with Booking.com for until 3 am in the morning. Unfortunately we ended up sleeping in our car that evening. And booked an Airbnb for the following two nights.Reached to the manager later, and received a response with no emphaty and no solution was offered.

      Booked my room through their website. I got my reservation email showing the room charge with $150 deposit. I got to the hotel to check in and the front desk clerk told me that my deposit was $250 and the room charge of one $166.50 so they charged my card a total of $416.50 and when I said my email shows that the deposit is 150 and he said no it only shows that when you go through Expedia, I did not go through Expedia. I went directly to their website and still to this day I havent been refunded my deposit! I got the room at the beginning of June, and I still have not been refunded my deposit, even though they say that it has been released. I do have a dispute going right now, but they still have not refunded my deposit and the room was dirty and smelly and was definitely not worth the stay. I highly highly do not recommend this place!

      Cashier this morning was very bad attitude She refused to let my seven years old to use the bathroom She lie and was yelling at me Because I said to her the person who cleaned already done cleaning When I said don't yell at She said I am the cashier I can say whatever I want I asked for the Manger She showed up after awhile Said nothing and did nothing She just doesn't care !
