1 starOrders the Skyfort III Swing Set for 2165 from backyard discovery on 7/29/23. After it was first installed my daughter who was 3 at the time had already broken off several parts, nothing crucial she could still use it, then mild winds started forcing it to lean to eventually it collapsing. I contacted backyard discovery to see if there was some kind of warranty or if they could replace it. I sent them pictures (definitely beyond repair) and they said they felt like you could put it back together ??. They gave me the number to a company to have it “put back together” and that company said they do not do that and that backyard discovery actually has to order a set up. I now have a disappointed 5 year old who’s devastated and am going to have to purchase another swing set because of their cheap material. Definitely don’t order from this company unless you just want short use of the product!!Backyard Discovery

Storm damage is not covered by the warranty, but the agent you spoke with offered to help order parts and provide a discount on your parts order to help with the purchase. 1 starLacking transparency regarding on the following: product, assembly and mounting.
Assembly does not include mounting. Company hires contractors with substandard construction skills. Not helpful with problem resolution.Backyard Discovery

I’m very sorry to hear about the problems you had with
assembly, but we appreciate the feedback. I do show that you spoke with one of
our supervisors a couple of days ago and we have passed the information along to
the third-party assembly provider. The anchoring of pergolas is not included in
the assembly cost as this is not always possible depending on the customer’s
site and materials needed and detailed assembly information is provided on our
website. Backyard Discovery does have a 5-year warranty and we stand behind our
products. If you need anything else regarding your pergola, please don’t

1 starThis company has frustrated me beyond belief. Purchased a play set for my children a month ago and have yet to see it. Said it was supposed to be delivered April 11th and it didn't show. After many calls to the company, they assured me the new delivery date would be April 26th. I spoke with three different representatives this past week who all assured me "they had checked with shipping and it would be delivered as planned." As expected, no play set has arrived. If I had not been calling the company repeatedly, I would have received ZERO communication from them. Now, on multiple occasions, I have had family members scheduled to help assemble the play set, so they have not only frustrated me and wasted my time, but many others, as well. Will NEVER order another product from them and will advise everyone I know to do the same. (Only selecting 1 star because 0 is not an option.)Backyard Discovery

I apologize for your frustration and understand it. This is not
the experience we want our customers to have and is not the normal experience.
The majority of our products do ship via freight carrier and this one was
shipped with a third-party carrier. I see that we first spoke with you on April
14th when the delivery date provided by the carrier had passed. At
that time, we reached out to get an update. We requested an update from the third-party
carrier again on April 17th and were advised the carrier was
scheduling delivery. We requested an update again on the 18th, when you
advised us that you had not heard from the carrier. On the 18th, we
were advised by the carrier that they had your delivery scheduled for April 26th.
We relayed this information to you by leaving a voicemail on the 18th.
On the 25th you requested a guarantee this would be delivered on the
26th and you wanted communication from the carrier. We asked the
carrier to do this. We also provided a partial refund to you due to the
inconvenience caused by the carrier’s delays. The carrier advised us that they
would contact you on the 26th. The third-party carrier did not
deliver the swing set on the 26th. When this was brought to my
attention, I requested an update from the carrier twice on the 28th and again on the 29th. I was provided with an update on the 30th that the delivery appointment was scheduled for May 1 from 12-4. I called and
left a voicemail with this information. I was able to confirm that the swing
set was delivered on May 1. I have received confirmation that the delivery did
occur on May 1.
I sincerely apologize for the length of time this took to
deliver and the lack of communication from the carrier. We have addressed this
situation with them. Should you have any questions during the assembly process
or need any parts under warranty, please contact us and we can help. We are
here 7 days a week from 8 am to 6 pm Central Time. I hope that your children enjoy their swing

1 starThis is the worst company ever to do business with. Very poor customer service and shipping is definately a problem. We bought a Cedar Cove Backyard playset on March 15, 2025. We recieved an email that it was shipped by Valley Companies to Hudson Wisconsin. As of today we have not recieved it and there is no idea when we will have it. I have called Valley many times. I have called Backyard Discouvery many times and they say they are going to check with shipping and call me back and they never do. I demanded a replacement and they said they put it on order two days ago and we still have not heard from that. As of right not we have spent a lot of money and have nothing to show for it. I am not sure if I will have to get an attorney involved yet or what to get it resolved.Backyard Discovery

I’m very sorry to hear about your experience with your
purchase and shipping. I do show this was ordered from Lowe’s on March 15 and
was shipped on March 16. It appears that this was lost by the carrier in
transit and a replacement order was made on April 7th by one of
Backyard Discovery’s customer service agents. The normal process for an item
lost in transit is to allow a couple of business days for the carrier to
perform a dock search for the item. We do this because, if it is located, it is
much quicker to get that item delivered than to order a replacement that ships
from the warehouse via freight carrier. I was notified this morning (April 11th)
that you have been in contact with the carrier, the item was located, and they are delivering today
and will contact you 30 minutes before delivery per your request.Please feel free to contact Backyard Discovery if you have

1 starFIRST OFF - I only selected 1 star because 0 stars is not an option.
HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING! We ordered a playset in the beginning May and paid for installation. We received notification that on May 28 a team from "GO CONFIGURE" would be out to build the swing set. As it turns out - Backyard Discovery subcontracts to Go Configure who then subcontracts to a different company!!! Where I live they do not have enough companies to actually do installations and it takes weeks to months to have someone come.
When the men from the installation company arrived they took 3 days to "build" what they said would take less than a day. THEY DID THE ENTIRE PLAYSET WRONG!!!! I called Backyard Discovery and Go Configure essentially EVERYDAY for 3 MONTHS!!! We had 4 different installation companies come to look at our swing set throughout the summer - first said it only need a few parts AND THAT IS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NO ONE, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN, SHOULD GO ON IT - second said it needed to be replaced - Backyard Discovery decided they were just going to send "replacement parts" NOT replace the swing set - third came and said there is no way it can be repaired and needs REPLACEMENT. And worst off - there was NO communication between Go Configure and the subcontractors as NO ONE KNEW anything about the situation. The fourth finally came out on August 28 - took away the old swing set AND rebuilt an entire new one in 3.5 hours.
I wasted at least 50-60 over months calling everyone and getting shoved off to other companies who said "we cannot to do this - you have to call X to get it done" who would then say "we have protocols for this and cannot help". It was frustrating, annoying, and just plain terrible customer service.
BACKYARD DISOVERY AND GO COFIGURE ARE TERRIBLE COMPANIES. DO NOT PURCHASE THROUGH THEM. GO CONFIGURE IS POORLY MANAGED WITH NO STAFF TO ACTUALLY COMPLETE ANYTING - AND ABSOULTE NOT PROPERLY!! DO NOT USE!!!!Review fromEric P

1 starThey claim to have a 5 year warranty on their gazebos - but it’s a scam. Nothing is covered. Was sent a defective cedar stained gazebo and they won’t cover the stain to fix it. The warranty is a lie, bait and switch and a scam. Stay away unless you don’t want the company to honor their warrantyBackyard Discovery

The product was purchased in 2022 and maintenance was discussed in June 2022 when we sent out stain to the customer as requested. The 5-year warranty covers any replacement parts the customer would need should they want to replace any peeling parts to get the product up to manufacture specifications. The gazebo is a wooden outdoor product and may require yearly clear sealant applied.Review fromCharles M

1 starCaution!! When buying from Backyard discovery and using their preferred vendor for assembly, GoConfigure, you are at extreme risk of getting a severely compromised structure that is damaged and incomplete.
We purchased a pavilion from Backyard discovery and at their suggestion, used their preferred assembly vendor GoConfigure. Two weeks ago from today, construction started. To date, the structure is not complete, damaged, at risk of falling, and requests for repair and completion have gone unanswered. Yet we paid in full.
The “tech” that was doing the work did such a bad job, we spotted nearly 2 dozen serious concerns with structural integrity. He worked for 37 hours on a structure that should have needed less time and it’s still not finished!!
I included just a handful of photos to show the quality of work that Backyard discovery and GoConfigure has found to be not serious and not needing attention. They initially offered someone to come out and review the work, inspect it and repair it. IT WAS THE SAME EXACT “TECH” THAT DID THE TERRIBLE JOB TO BEGIN WITH!!
I have called, I have emailed, I’ve requested supervisors. I’ve begged and pleaded for a professional to come out here, inspect the structure, repair the damage and complete the job. But my calls are unanswered.
Do not buy anything and have it assembled from Backyard Discovery and GoConfigure.Backyard Discovery

2 starsOrdered a Backyard Discovery Gazebo from SAMSCLUB. Days later I received a text saying that my gazebo is on the way. Expected delivery was on a Wednesday and was supposed to receive a call or text from delivery. That never happened. I called customer service and they didn’t know what was going on. They would go on to tell me that it would arrive on Friday. Friday evening, still no Gazebo.
It wasn’t until Monday I get a call stating that they are dropping off my product in front my house. No 24 hour advance notice per Backyard Discovery policy. This entire delivery process was horrible. Customer service needs to improve. I still don’t know what I am supposed to have in all the boxes. I asked for an itemized list of all parts and didn’t get an answer.
- Communication is extremely poor.
- No transparency.
- Lack of status updates regarding the tracking of the product.
P.S. SAMSCLUB have a tracking tab for the product but the company does not actually track the product.Backyard Discovery

I ordered many parts with no issue for my rotted playhouse and when i asked for free shipping on an order the manager wanted pictures, proof of purchase and said i was suspicious that i needed all these parts. I even was called at home and harrassed by the manager. My account was changed also by them so i cant order anymore.Backyard Discovery

Parts are very specific to our product models and when you registered your product as new model, having actually purchased it in 2013, it is our obligation to confirm the product you have so you can get the accurate assistance you need. We do that by photos so we can determine the product you need parts for.
