    This is an extortion attempt, this company who I have no knowledge of and NEVER signed a contract with IN ANY REGARDS, is attempting to damage my credit. There is an open balanced of $199, and on my credit report it says "original creditor" They are a debt collection company for a debt I have no knowledge of. There is no information on what they're "collecting on" it just says collection for $199. I ask this be removed from my credit report Or I will sue in federal/state court for the MAXIMUM. I already sent certified mail which was not answered which violates the credit protection act. In addition to this you're required to show me my signature, the date of the purchase, what you're collecting on, who accepted payment and which card/debt card was used. I got none of this information and was ignored after sending certified mail. REMOVE THIS IMMEDIATLEY this is a crime.

    On June 5, 2025, TrueAccord Corp. received the BBB complaint filed by ******* ****** (“the consumer”). TrueAccord has not heard from the consumer prior to this complaint. We take every complaint seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address the consumer’s concerns. 

    TrueAccord is a third party debt collection company established to reimagine the debt collection experience for consumers. Founded in 2013, TrueAccord communicates primarily via email and offers an inbound customer service center in the event a consumer prefers to call in and speak with a live agent. One of our guiding principles is treating our consumer-customers with dignity and respect. We are a licensed and bonded agency and registered with the CFPB. We maintain a full-time internal compliance department that established our policies and procedures to meet the requirements of the state, federal and local laws and regulations governing collections. Our in-house training program instructs our agents on these policies, including annual refresher courses.

    TrueAccord does not own the account in question. The current creditor placed the account, including the consumer’s contact information, with us and we loaded it into our system on April 3, 2025.  

    On April 4, 2025, TrueAccord sent the consumer an initial letter detailing the creditor, an itemization of the amount due, and how the debt could be disputed. It also included the CFPB website (********************************) for the consumer to learn more information about their federal rights.

    On June 3, 2025, TrueAccord received the consumer’s dispute via an Automated Consumer Dispute Verification (ACDV) form from the credit reporting agencies.  We paused collection activity, requested debt verification from the current creditor, and will not resume collections until after the debt verification has been sent to the address on file. 

    As a result of this dispute, TrueAccord submitted a request on June 7, 2025 for the tradeline to be removed from the consumer’s credit report. It typically takes around 45 days for the credit report to be updated by the credit bureaus. If the consumer has additional questions regarding credit reporting, we suggest they reach out directly to the credit reporting agencies.

    I received debt collection emails from TrueAccord Corp. and previously from Diversified Adjustment Service regarding an old Verizon Wireless debt. TrueAccord claims I owe $2,346.91, though I originally owed $1,988.91—an amount I believed had already been paid or settled.

    I requested validation of the debt and only received a basic Verizon bill, not a full breakdown or proof of legal authority to collect. This does not satisfy FDCPA standards, and the lack of transparency makes it impossible to verify the legitimacy of the debt or the added charges.

    Diversified also contacted me prior to TrueAccord about what appears to be the same debt, raising concerns about improper duplication or reselling of the debt.

    I am requesting that the company:

    Provide full validation of the debt,
    Remove any unauthorized fees,
    Clarify if this debt is still valid or already settled,
    Cease all collection attempts until this is resolved.
    Remove all Tradelines.

    This situation is stressful and concerning. I want to resolve it, but I need transparency and fairness first.

It also included a link to the CFPB website (********************************) for the consumer to learn more information about their federal rights.

    On May 7, 2025, TrueAccord received the consumer’s email disputing this debt.  We processed this dispute, paused collection activity, and requested debt verification from the current creditor. TrueAccord has not and will not resume collections until after the debt verification has been sent to the address on file.

    To confirm, TrueAccord has not provided any documentation to the consumer, nor communicated with them since we processed the dispute. Furthermore, TrueAccord is unable to comment on any account that may have been placed with Diversified Adjustments.

    You ignored my notice, failed to validate the debt, and continue harassing me via calls, texts, emails, and letters. This violates 11 U.S.C. § 362 & 15 U.S.C. § 1692c. I demand $3,000 within 20 days. Final warning—further legal action is imminent.

    You have failed to respond to my previous letter and continue to harass me with repeated, unauthorized attempts to collect a debt despite my active Chapter 7 bankruptcy filed on January 14, 2025. These actions are direct and knowing violations of federal law.

    Violations Include:

    1. Automatic Stay Violation – 11 U.S.C. § 362
    Under federal bankruptcy law, an automatic stay went into effect the moment I filed. This legally bars any attempt to collect on debts included in my case. Despite this, your agency has continued to contact me:

    May 5, 2025 @ 4:50 PM – 1 text message

    May 8, 2025 @ 5:30 PM – 1 text message

    May 10, 2025 @ 5:13 PM – 1 email

    May 14 2025 – 1 mailed letter

    2. FDCPA Violation – 15 U.S.C. § 1692c
    You are also in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which strictly prohibits debt collectors from contacting consumers under bankruptcy protection. Your continued communication is not only illegal but has caused ongoing stress and emotional distress.

    3. Failure to Validate the Debt – 15 U.S.C. § 1692g
    You have also failed to provide any debt validation after my initial request, which further violates federal law.

    My Demand:
    For your illegal and harassing actions, I am demanding compensation as follows:

    As an initial matter, TrueAccord has two (2) accounts in our system. TrueAccord does not own any of the accounts in question.

    Account #1: Affirm ending in *****

    The current creditor placed the account, including your contact information, with us and we loaded it into our system on December 25, 2024. 

    On December 27, 2025, TrueAccord sent you an initial email detailing the creditor, an itemization of the amount due, and how the debt could be disputed. It also included a link to the CFPB website ********************************** for you to learn more information about your federal rights.

    Please note that in the regular course of business, the current creditor removed the account from our system on January 21, 2025, therefore TrueAccord is no longer collecting on it. The last communication sent to you by TrueAccord on this account was on January 5, 2025, which is prior to you filing for bankruptcy. Since the account is no longer with TrueAccord, we have forwarded this complaint to the current creditor.

    Account #2: Klarna ending in *****

    The current creditor placed the account, including your contact information, with us and we loaded it into our system on April 25, 2025.

    TrueAccord did not have knowledge of any bankruptcy associated with this account prior to receiving this complaint. TrueAccord runs a bankruptcy scrub upon an account’s placement in our system prior to beginning any collection activity. The bankruptcy scrub on this account returned no results, because the name and address was not an exact match with the contact information on the account. On May 13, 2025, TrueAccord received your email, and processed the bankruptcy notice on the account. TrueAccord immediately ceased communications.

    If you have  any more questions about the accounts, we suggest you contact the current creditors directly. 

    While investigating your complaint, we reached out to Affirm and they provided the following response: 

    Affirm records indicate that  loan O2LI-KSAA was processed on July 22, 2024 for a purchase with AlexSmallCreationsLLC.com in the amount of $125.00 with 0% APR. The agreed-upon repayment terms were for 3 biweekly installments of $31.25.

    The loan required a downpayment of $31.25 which was paid on July 19, 2024. The loan received no further payments and was charged off on December 18, 2024.

    Affirm encourages all customers to make payments on or before the scheduled due date. Customers won’t incur any late fees, but late payments may impact their ability to take out future loans with Affirm. If a payment is 30 or more days overdue some loans originated prior to April 1, 2025 may be reported to Experian as delinquent. If payments are more than 120 days overdue, Affirm reserves the right to refer the loan to one of our third-party collection partners. Once a loan has been charged off, the charge off status is irreversible.     For your convenience, Affirm has attached a copy of both Truth in Lending Agreements and Loan Verification Letters to this response. Together these documents provide the validation that she seeks .

    Upon reviewing her concerns stating collection practices of the loan and her Bankruptcy filing. *** ******** filed for bankruptcy on January 14, 2025.  Loan O2LI-KSAA was processed on July 22, 2024 and charged off on December 18, 2024.

    In order for the status to apply, the charged off loan must be taken prior to petition date and payments must go past petition date. Therefore, this loan would not have been included.

    At this time, collections communications have been disabled on her behalf. She remains responsible for monitoring her loan statuses. For more information regarding repayment, she can call Affirm at *************

    Lastly, Affirm would like to assure her that Affirm complies with all requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”).

    On June 12, 2025, TrueAccord Corp. received your reply to our response filed on June 11, 2025.  

    As stated in our initial response, TrueAccord is a third party debt collection company, therefore we do not own and have never owned the account in question.

    We conducted further investigation upon receiving the consumer’s BBB reply. This investigation included reviewing the bankruptcy petition filed by the consumer, which is publicly available on PACER (attached). The Klarna account in question is not listed in the schedule of creditors/claims and Klarna is not listed in the list of creditors for this bankruptcy. As such, the courts never sent notification of the bankruptcy to Klarna or to TrueAccord. Thus, neither we nor Klarna had actual notice of the bankruptcy when it was filed. The first notice we received was when you emailed our office on May 13, 2025, and notified us of your bankruptcy. We immediately ceased collection communications at that point.

    To Whom It May Concern:


    This letter is in response to your June 12, 2025 communication regarding the Klarna account.


    Let me be absolutely clear: this debt was discharged as part of my Chapter 7 bankruptcy filed on January 14, 2025, under Case No. **************. Your suggestion that the Klarna debt is still valid because it was not individually named is both factually incorrect and legally irrelevant. The discharge injunction under 11 U.S.C. § 524 applies to all unsecured debts, listed or not, in a no-asset case such as mine.


    Whether Klarna or TrueAccord received direct notice from the court is immaterial. You are not exempt from federal law simply because you failed to perform proper due diligence. The minute you engaged in collection activity on a discharged debt, you were in violation of the discharge order.




    This is your formal notice and demand:


    Cease and desist all collection efforts immediately.
    Remove or correct any credit reporting related to this account to reflect a $0 balance with the notation “included in bankruptcy.”
    Provide written confirmation that no further action will be taken by your office or Klarna.






    Furthermore:

    I am actively considering pursuing legal action for damages under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and for willful violation of the bankruptcy discharge injunction. If this matter is not resolved and corrected within 7 business days, I will proceed with formal complaints to the CFPB, FTC, the Better Business Bureau, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.


    I strongly urge you to forward this matter to your legal department immediately. I will not tolerate further harassment or illegal collection practices.

    TrueAccord has been reaching out to me about a debt I allegedly owe Premiere Bank.

    Please be advised that I do not owe "TrueAccord" and money, and I am hereby asking you to please cease and desist all calls and contact with me immediately. To my knowledge, I have never done any business with True Accord. Any alleged debt that I may owe Premiere Bank is between myself and that company — not TrueAccord. If Premiere Bank believes that I owe them a debt, they can contact me directly through their company. To my knowledge, Premiere Bank has not attempted to contact me, only this TrueAccord company that I have no ties to.

    On February 7, 2025, TrueAccord sent the consumer an initial email detailing the creditor, an itemization of the amount due, how the debt could be disputed, and the option to unsubscribe.     TrueAccord has processed this complaint as a dispute. We have paused collection activity, requested debt verification from the current creditor, and will not resume collections until after the debt verification has been sent.

We maintain a full-time internal compliance department that established our policies and procedures to exceed the minimum regulatory requirements of the state, federal and local laws governing collections. Our in-house training program instructs our agents on these policies, including annual refresher courses.

    TrueAccord does not own the account in question. The current creditor placed the account, including the contact information, with us and we loaded it into our system on February 20, 2025. 

    On February 21, 2025, TrueAccord sent you an initial email detailing the creditor, an itemization of the amount due, and how the debt could be disputed. It also included a link to the CFPB website (********************************) for the consumer to learn more information about their federal rights.

    On May 4, 2025, TrueAccord processed your email as a cease and desist request. Please note that we are no longer collecting on the account. Since the account is no longer with TrueAccord, we have forwarded this complaint to the current creditor.

    TrueAccord does not report to any of the credit bureaus for this creditor. If you have questions regarding credit reporting, we suggest you reach out directly to the current creditor or the credit reporting agencies.

    TrueAccord has not reported this account to any of the credit bureaus. If the consumer has questions regarding credit reporting, we suggest they reach out directly to the current creditor or the credit reporting agencies.

    Please note that in the regular course of business, the current creditor removed the consumer’s account from our system on December 12, 2024, therefore TrueAccord is no longer collecting on it. Since the account is no longer with TrueAccord, we have forwarded this complaint to the current creditor.

    I sent you guys a debt validation and cease and desist order via mail and fax. YOU NEVER RESPONDED. I have never done any business with True Accord or its partner companies. This is a result of identity theft, and it NEEDS to be removed. See my attached letter and provide ALL of the items on my 9-item list, EVERY SINGLE ITEM, or remove it from my credit report, stop contacting me, and cease collections on the debt. You guys are also harassing me, calling me several times a day after I told you to STOP calling me. Just for that, I have grounds to sue you. I keep records of my call logs. I have won every lawsuit against other collection agencies I've sued. Thank you!

    TrueAccord has processed this complaint as a dispute and cease and desist request. TrueAccord will no longer contact the consumer regarding this account. Subsequently, we are no longer collecting on the account. The last communication sent to the consumer by TrueAccord on this account was on April 25, 2025. Since the account is no longer with TrueAccord, we have forwarded this complaint to the current creditor.

    As noted above, we have not heard from the consumer prior to this complaint. We have reviewed our records and do not show that we have received any inbound communications from the consumer regarding this debt. In addition, TrueAccord has not placed any outbound calls to the consumer at the phone number listed on this complaint. 

    Lastly, TrueAccord has not reported this account to any of the credit bureaus. If the consumer has questions regarding credit reporting, we suggest they reach out directly to the current creditor or the credit reporting agencies.
