      Its a predatory company the the government allows it to function. Their business model is to s**** you. Thats it.Good morning Thank you for choosing Ace Rent A Car.       The absolute worst experience. I arrived to my appointment to pick up my car 45 minutes early. I waited about 20 minutes to get help. I was told to go over to a video screen where someone could help me. Upon doing so, the last said that she could not help me and to step to the side and the clerk would help me. Once he called me over (didn't catch his name, but he was an older Hispanic looking man) be told me that they did not have any more cars!I told him that I had a reservation and all he did was repeat that they did not have any more cars and that there is nothing he could do for me. I told him that I was dropped off and am now stranded. To which he replied, "well you can try and find somewhere else to rent a car locally and our shuttle can take you there." The guy showed zero empathy, didn't offer any other car and keep a plain, straight OH WELL look on his face the entire time!! I had to go sit on the chairs and find a place to get a car last minute!! I ended up finding one other place that ended up costing me 3x as much but atleast they were nice and had cars!!! Oh, I had also asked him why they did not call me before I got there to let me know they no longer had cars. He gave me a shoulder shrug and did not say anything!! The worst. I will NEVER rent from *** again. I don't care if the car is $1 a day!!!

      This company is a scam and will try to con you out of your money. The prices arent worth the hassle. They were trying to collect $100 on a $2.55 toll. They also sell and share your information with 3rd party vultures. You cant even reach a manager, instead you have to wait 3 days for a call back. How is this company still in business?

      On Thursday June 26th. I had a family emergency. After learning that it wasnt life threatening I didnt panic and rush to go out of town. I decided to rent a car through a discount program that my job offer. I went on and booked with Ace rent a car LAX because of the decent price. On July 1st 2025. I arrived to Ace rental by Lyft a little after 8AM. I had to check in for my reservation with an agent through an iPad. As I was checking in and validating my reservation with ID and credit cards. The person on the iPad was going over the restrictions due to me being a in state resident. When it came to the insurance I told him that I wanted to use my own insurance. In which I always do when Ive booked rental cars with other companies. He asked what company I had I told him DirectAuto. He said they dont accept my insurance company. And gave me a quote for 2 different insurance coverages that they offer. I told him that I have full coverage insurance and asked to talk to a manager. He said that a manager wouldnt be able to do anything and said I could go next door to thrift car rental, I contemplated. And ask how much will it be for the basic with my reservation rate that I already paid. The insurance was supposed to be $29.99 a day in which I agreed on. I didnt really pay attention to the paperwork after completing the reservation. I got in the car and got right on the road to head to check on my granny. After getting back home on July 3, 2025 after dropping the car off. I was looking over everything while I was in my Lyft. I noticed the $14.99 a day charge on the paperwork. And called the rental car company. And told them this was never disclosed to me, I was aware of the $29.99 but never a $14.99 charge. This charge was never disclosed to me. They supposedly record the interactions so they need to pull my check in reservation and take accountability for this

      Its a scam. This company uses deceptive business practices to make you pay more. They advertise a low daily rate, but dont disclose extra fees. I was bullied into buying their insurance policy which amounted to more than $50 PER day. The reason ACE gave is that local residents are required to show proof of insurance. That was NEVER indicated at booking or in the multiple reminder texts I received from them. I was not able to show proof that they deemed adequate, even though I was covered both by my credit card and by my personal auto insurance. I have rented many cars locally and in other states and never encountered this before. Its completely intentional to recoup costs from the low daily rates they advertise. I called ACE before leaving on my trip and they advised me that I would have to go to handle it at the rental office. I did that and told the clerk that I felt tricked into buying the insurance and the right thing to do would be to give a refund, and the first thing he said was oh that guy never sells meaning that the guy who rented it to me in the first place never sells the insurance.Deceptive and coercive businessavoid at all costs. The low price is not worth the headache and extra cost. The *************** of rental cars. More like ACE Rent la CARte.

      Mr. **************** you for your review for ACE in *************. The Terms and Conditions on the ACE website as well as Priceline's "Rules and Restrictions" tab does state under local renters - "Local Renter Requirements
      Local renters must use a major credit card in their name. Debit cards are not permitted for local renters at the time of pickup but may be used as payment at the end of the rental. Local renters must provide proof of full coverage insurance at the counter. A local renter is anyone living within 200 miles of the airport.".

      Read their contracts carefully. They will charge for *** insurance even if you decline coverage. Bad business from a low budget company

      On June 15, 2025, I pre-rented a compact car using *************, for pick up at 6/16/2025 for $259.68 USD. Priceline contracts with a variety of car rental companies, but for this particular car rental, Priceline assigned the pre-rental to ACE Rent A Car. I was traveling from *******. Using the offsite shuttle that ACE provided, I arrived early at ACE at 2:30 pm for a 3:00 pm car rental pick-up. ACE informed me that I would have to wait until 3:00 pm to check in, or there would be an additional fee, so I waited the additional time required by ACE. *** then informed me that instead of a compact car, they would be providing me with an (unwanted) Minivan, even though they had an overabundance of compact cars in the lot, and that I had no say in the matter. Then, to my surprise, they informed me that **the State of Hawaii** required them to charge me the additional $39/day for a mandatory nonwaivable collision protection, even though I already had car insurance with State Farm, and had requested to waive the coverage. I supplied *** with my State Farm car insurance policy number and active coverage information, to no avail. The additional ACE insurance upcharge would be $39.99 x 12 days, or $468.00, over and above the $259.68 I had already paid to Priceline for the compact car rental agreement. Apparently, this bizarre business practice is not uncommon with ACE. After contacting Priceline, ********* requested I cancel the contract with *** and leave the (off campus) ACE facility. Not nice. After putting me on hold for 30 minutes, Priceline then refunded my $259.68, and I was able to get a car rental from a different agency. Apparently, this is a routine business practice with ***. Also, theyre falsely blaming the State of Hawaii, making the State of ******, and presumably, the Airport Authority, appear to be inhospitable, cruel, and mean. *** needs to take direct responsibility for its own bizarre business practices.

      ?? Warning: Do Not Rent from ACE Rent a Car ??Returned the car in perfect condition with photo proof. A day later, I was accused of damage with no photos, no case number raise (a month later raise), and no official notice. $1,000 was taken from my deposit without evidence, and the car was rented out again before I was even contacted. Extremely shady and unprofessional. Do your research this happens all the time with them just read the ********** sure a *****/******/etc will respond and say something o distract you. Protect yourself avoid renting here at all costs.
