I had cancelled my service about 12 months ago and thought I was all set. I had spoke with agents, returned my equipment, and disconnected my equipment for months. I get a call later saying I have an outstanding debt with them from an account I had thought was paid and full and cancelled. This is after 3 calls with representatives communicating about my account, return of the equipment, cancelling of the equipment etc. This was compounded with constant outages in my building over the 3 year period and limited connections overall. Would not recommend solely based on the experience from the network, but the billing is even worse.Review from Kimberly B

Biggest day and night all year watching the 2024 Super Bowl game and NO coverage in our area. Recording on hotline states they are aware of an issue and working on it. Speaking to a tech can only provide us an apology! Ridiculous and unacceptable!!!! Barely could see Q1 with screen freezing on interviews plus game plays. A black screen on this network blaming a “third party”. Would never recommend this company!Review from Brayden M

With this company, I have experienced the following: 1. Showing up at my home to do an install only for them to realize they hadn't finished construction in my area. 2. Ignoring me for two months until I called them about finishing their stupid installation. 3. When they did the install, their technician not only told me four times he would 'be right there' over the course of two hours, not only was he late, not only did he never answer my calls asking where they were, but on top of that, I never got the credit that the support team promised. 4. The sales person told me that they had autopay set up. They didn't. I thought I set it up online. It didn't pay this month, and they nearly charged me a late fee over it. 5. Sales people lied to me about being able to port forward without an extra cost, which I made very clear was a requirement for me. When I talked to support about this and asked WHY, the person on the other line simply said, on repeat "You need a static IP in order to do port forwarding" over and over without anything else, then had the balls to ask "So do you have any other questions?" when she didn't answer any of my questions. Another call I got them to write it down as a credit on my bill. 6. Their service has gone down, lagged out, or otherwise been incredibly inconsistent since day one. I get maybe 10% of my promised rate on a good day when I normally got about 40 or 50% with other ISPs. 7. I look at my bill, today, to see that not only have none of the credits promised ever made it onto my account, not only are there no discounts of any kind despite what support told me, not only are there no credits, but I'm also being charged higher than the rate I was promised. This company is the worst ISP I have ever had, and I've had Centurylink in a town where Centurylink has a monopoly. Stay far, far away from this company. They are beyond incompetent and apparently lie about everything they tell you.Review from Kyle S

They are terrible at their jobs. They over charged me on my bill after neglecting to take my autopay that is connected to my bank account. How do you even mess that up??? Then I sent 4 emails with no response what so ever from customer service. On top of that they messed up my repair a while ago and every time I ask them to fix it they just don't respond. Every ISP sucks they are no different.Review from Rob K

We have utilized Metronet for several years now. The price continues to increase and customer service is next to impossible to work with. They will not transfer you to a supervisor/manager and even when they tell you the contract will go to month to month it renews for a year and the charges are excessive. I can certainly see why they have so many negative reviews. I just want to switch services and they make it next to impossible.Review from Ricky B

Service is horrible and talking to tech support is like to incompetent clowns. They like to tell what they can do but, nothing gets done. I see the circle of no connection at least 12 times a day. Sunday 11/26 was the worst. I had the red light on my router at least 6 times missing games and internet connection. Tried calling and was told my hold time was 2 minutes. After 15 minutes I hung up and tried texting, this is also a joke with this company. I want the problems fixed so that I get what I’m paying for.Review from Michael Z

Service is good. I have no problem with the service in ******, IL. What I am upset with though it that they sell you r email address. I use a custom email for every account including MetroNet. With my metronet email I am now receiving emails from ****** *******. I do not appreciate that my email was sold. I tried to ask customer service why via their online ticket system and they closed the ticket without saying anything. I got an email from them asking me to rate the customer service (there was no customer service) so I replied to that email asking why they closed the ticket without addressing it. That ticket was also closed without addressing it and I received another email asking how that customer service was. Evidently they don't want to address the fact that they sold my email for profit.Review from Clara A

called to cancel last month and the incompetent agent that I spoke with assured me the services would be canceled. I now am receiving another bill from them because nothing in their system says I canceled. FRAUD!!! stay awayReview from David S

First technician showed up and said they would have to drill and run a line for our house. That took over a month. Then second tech showed up and said that's not right their is a service line in our backyard. So he hooked it up. Then the tell us you cannot hardwire your computers (gaming) Then we have to pay for signal boosters for every level of my home (2 story home). When we checked it out the service to 2 of the computers that were less than 10 feet from the router only received one bar of service. We were then told that the computer closest to the router would take all of the signal causing signal degradation on everything else. I have a cable company provider and with one modem I can use everything in my house. Even on the top floor. Also the technician who installed my equipment drilled holes in my wall then changed his mind on mounting the modem and just left the holes in the wall. Be very careful with this company. It is obvious they don't care about service and they will lie about everything to get your business. I will follow up with an attorney about the damages left behind
