Back in November 2024, I booked a motorcycle rental through Twisted Road for Arizona Bike Week 2025. I was ready. I had the flights. The truck. The hotel. The whole trip was dialed in. Leading up to the event, I extended the rental and ****** B., the host out of ********* AZ, accepted the changes. That was March 24less than two weeks before the trip. He knew I was ********* trip was set to begin April 3, 2025, at 8:00 AM. I landed in ******* ready to ride.Instead of a Bike, I Got a Brick WallLiterally hours before pickup, I get a message from ****** saying the trip was canceled. Not by me. Not with any notification from Twisted Road. Just... canceled. His excuse? The bike was in the shop with a flat tire. A flat tire... on the morning of Bike Week.Let that sink ****** confirm a rental weeks in advance. You accept an upgrade 10 days before. You say nothing about mechanical issues. And thenon the day of the rideyou suddenly ghost the reservation because the bikes unavailable? Its more than shady. Its straight-up dishonest. And Twisted Road? They were just as unprepared.I was stuck in ******* with my wife, zero notice, no replacement options, and thousands already spent on flights, accommodations, and transport. Their support response? A mix of were trying and check out other listingsas if I hadnt just flown to the state for a very specific trip with no wiggle room. This Was Not a GlitchIt Was Negligence****** never should have had that bike listed in the first place. Not with unresolved maintenance. Not with vague stories about being out of the country. Not when he had no idea if the brakes were safe or if the tire could be repaired. He casually mentioned maybe borrowing a friends bike. He said he was checking on repairs. But it was all talk and no follow-through.They Wont Even Let You Warn Other RidersHere's the kicker: Twisted Road refused to let me leave a review on ******s profile.Twisted Road, LLC

******, thanks for the note. We are terribly sorry this happened. Although we do our best to make sure that every bike is roadworthy and available, owners can have bike issues that are out of our control. As you know, we offered you many replacement bikes that were available, but none worked for you. The bike was immediately removed from our site, which is why you can't leave a review on the bike or the situation. There's nothing to review. When a future rider is looking for a bike to rent, they usually find a bike and read the reviews, but since this bike is no longer on the site, we can't add a review that nobody will see. We were able to immediately refund your credit card and also give you a free day of riding when you decide to use our platform in the future.Review fromDionysius K

I got a random text from a number Ive never interacted with stating This is Twisted road is your bike available? When any employee would know it is as its listed available and they could just book it, so I teased them for being a scammer. Turns out it wasnt and they took down my listing, as if Id ever trust a random text. Wack professionalism. Do not recommendTwisted Road, LLC

Thanks for the review. We require all motorcycle owners to approve or decline a rental request within 24 hours. Because yours was sitting for longer than this, our team reached out personally to confirm availability. We are sorry that this offended you, but sometimes owners don't update their bike's availability on the site. When you were non-responsive, we did our best to contact you and confirm.Review fromWilliam B

Rented a bike from twisted road It wasn't even legal to drive on the road as I'm driving out of LA the headlight flies out of it and ends up putting a dent on the front garnish and also during the ride I was pulled over by the cops until I couldn't drive it cuz it was not legal to drive on the road as pushing it down the road I slipped in the gravel ended up bending the clutch lever slightly and the rubber grip was slightly damaged the motorcycle had already been rattle can paint upon me picking it up they've charged me thousands of dollars out of my bank account and there's now's being suing me for $7,000 more for maybe $500 in total damages mainly caused by their bike being unsafe and unfit to ride on the road Do not do business with this company their scams they at this time they've charged me about $3,300 out of my personal bank account even though I paid for the motorcycle coverage for the maximum where I'm only supposed to be paying $1,000 and now I'm being sued for $7,000 by a separate law firm for damages and it was literally a clutch lever and a gripTwisted Road, LLC

Thanks for the note. We'd like to clarify a few things. First, because you damaged the bike, you're responsible for paying the deductible, which in your case was $1000. We haven't charged you more than that and our $250 claims fee. As for the damages, you actually did $6,832 of damage to this motorcycle, so it was more than just the clutch lever and a grip. Also, you painted over the damages to the motorcycle, which caused even more damage to the bike. Finally, nobody is suing you - we think there's been a misunderstanding.Review fromIvan M

Twisted Road's levied credit card charges that remained undisclosed and unexplained until I repeatedly inquired, surpassing my $1000 deductible by a significant margin. It took them an extended period of time to acknowledge the error, even after numerous emails from me. Dealing with their insurance process with their partnership with ******** was unproductive and disheartening. The requested photos were not provided, and overall assistance from their end was minimal. I've yet to receive any contact from their insurance provider's staff. My encounter with Twisted Roads was an absolute nightmare. Their abrupt and unexplained credit card charges, without prior notice or justification, drained thousands of dollars from my account. Engaging with ********'s insurance providers was equally terrible. They displayed zero interest in communicating with me, leaving me feeling ignored and neglected. I wouldn't hesitate to dissuade anyone from considering this company for rentals or insurance. Extreme caution is advised if you find yourself dealing with them. They appear all too eager to concoct reasons to bill exorbitant amounts, even for minor damages you're not responsible for. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of Twisted Roads.Twisted Road, LLC

Thanks for the feedback. This doesn't seem characteristic of our company or how we treat our customers. We are fairly small and we do our best to provide extreme customer service with every interaction.
If possible we'd like some more information on who the customer is so we can review the case and work directly to resolve any open items. Or alternatively we can assess whether this review has any untrue statements.

The way I see it, Twisted Road is the Airbnb for Motorbikes. Good options but the issue starts if the owner wants makes claims of damages during the rental period. I had rented the bike for 2 days and on returning because the owner was on on site, I had send pictures and only after the thumbs up was given I left his garage. Later claim was make for the bike damage and I was charged the deductible of 2k before even asking for my side of the story. They said and insurance investigator would reach out which he did, but after submitting the pictures and explaining my side, no response from their side. The truth is Im extremely disappointed with the company's lack of response and also wish their check in and check out process (images of the bike before and after the rental) were mandatory and stringent. This would avoid a lot of confusion. All I am left with now is to dispute the charges with the credit card company. Very disappointed with Twisted road so far... If anything changes.. Ill update this page ..Twisted Road, LLC

Hi ***, thanks for your note. We do require images at the start and end of every single rental, and our insurance company reviews these images to determine the damages and the estimate amount. In your case, the damages were a few hundred dollars, and we just refunded your credit card for the difference.Review fromQUINN N

Great experience until the owner started blaming for scratches I didnt do and then also claimed damage to his panier lock assembly which he told me didnt work prior to me renting. I failed to read the insurance I bought through twisted road as well so for his **************************** $1,250! What a joke! I will be telling everyone I know to steer clear of Twisted Road!Twisted Road, LLC

*****, we are terribly sorry for this experience. Our insurance company takes great care to review pre-ride photos and compare them to pics when the ride is done. I wish we had better news but we do everything we can to be fair.Review fromRICARDO H

I rented a bike for 11 days (unlimited mileage contract) and after riding about ***** miles, the rear tire reached its end of life. Rubber ended completely. This happened in a remote region and created a situation of extreme risk and urgency. For safety reason, I replaced immediately the tire by only available option nearby.I sent pictures and receipts to Twisted Road claiming the reimbursement of U$180.00 . Twisted Road denied my claim citing "the number of miles I traveled".Company addressed me questions I considered malicious such "did I check the tire before picking the bike?" ; "did I purchase tire insurance?"; "did I inform my trip plan?"; "why did not I buy the same brand tire of the front tire?" and so on.All this process is documented by pictures and emails. Twisted Road agreed on my decision to replace the tire immediately, but refused to accept any responsibility on bike's conditions and riders safety. They don't care about riders safety.Twisted Road, LLC

We completely agree with the need to replace a tire while riding, however, because of the thousands of miles you put on the bike, the responsibility of a new tire is yours. Our tire protection covers you if you get a flat tire, but not for the wear on the tire for thousands of miles of riding.
