Just got one of their infamous letters in the mail. I'm a top marketing executive, and the deceptive business practices of this company is what gives our industry a bad name. If Sky Auto Protection offered a high-quality product, they could focus on advertising their outstanding service and customer satisfaction in order to gain new customers in an honest and ethical way. Instead, they deploy deceptive (and frankly, manipulative) direct mail campaigns to lure in what I suspect is a primarily vulnerable audience in an extremely fraudulent way. Shame on them.

Sky Protection is a marketer of vehicle service contracts for third party service contract companies. Sky Protection provides a valued opportunity for consumers to make an informed decision whether to purchase coverage to protect their investment. If your girlfriend received a mailer from ***, the solicitation was an opportunity as a consumer, to choose whether to activate a service contract in the event the dealer did not offer her an opportunity to purchase one when she purchased the vehicle. We will be happy to remove her from our mailing list, please provide her name and address.

They are the biggest liars most fraudulent company Ive ever come into contact with. JUST STAY AWAY!! They lie about the coverage, and pricing! And when you finally figure out they are scamming you dont expect a refund! They will give you the run around especially when you ask to speak to a manager! Ive asked over four times to speak with one got told they would have to call me back not neither of the four times have they ever called me back. But theyll put in your account file that youre not owed a refund and somehow I used 34% of the coverage and services I NEVER received. STAY AWAY!!!

Ms. ********* Our records indicate that you first contacted our office on June 18, 2024, regarding an offer to set up a voluntary vehicle service agreement, intended to extend coverage beyond the manufacturers warranty. During this call, the agent thoroughly explained the coverage benefits, terms, and pricing. You agreed and proceeded with the coverage. At this time, your vehicle had ****** miles. On June 19, 2024, you called our customer ********************** department with questions related to billing. As a courtesy, the service representative applied a discount to your monthly rate, reducing it to $108 per month, which you accepted and paid for 9 months. On July 2, 2024, you called again to ask when she would receive her policy booklet. The representative advised you that it should arrive by the end of the week. During the same call, you again confirmed the discounted rate and expressed no concerns. On July 15, 2024, you contacted customer ********************** again to confirm your enrollment in autopay and discuss your billing. On February 17, 2025, you called to request that your upcoming payment be moved to February 28, 2025, which the representative completed for you.On March 4, 2025, you called again with questions regarding the billing structure and the representative answered your questions diligently. On March 18, 2025, you called to inquire how many payments remained on your policy. The representative informed you that you had 15 payments left and offered to email you a breakdown for your records. During this same call, you asked about the refund process if you were to cancel. The representative informed you that a pro-rated refund (***) could be available depending on the terms and usage. Later that day, you requested to cancel and you were informed of the documentation needed to process the ***.On March 26, 2025, we received the required documents, including the final odometer reading of ****** miles. Which means you used ****** miles of your 5-year/60,000-mile policyroughly 34% of the total mileage allowance, all within 9 months.Refunds are pro-rated based on the original sale price, not the discounted amount. Additionally, the charge backs on the February and March payments, resulted in a negative balance on your account. The combination of the policy usage and the charged-back payments through your bank resulted in no refund being due. On May 7, 2025, a customer ********************** manager attempted to return your call to review the outcome of the *** but was only able to leave a voicemail. Hope this helps.

I received a letter in the mail from them, for a car that I dont even have anymore, because it was a lease from 5 years ago. When I called them, they asked for the coverage ID number that was in the letter. Due to many people I know being victims of scams, I did not give them any identifying information. The guy proceeds to argue with me about why it doesnt make sense that I wouldnt give them an ID number that came from them. I argued back that no identifying information should be given over the phone, especially if the potential customer doesnt even know if the company is valid. He went back and forth with me, trying to convince me that my argument was invalid, and my hesitation to engage with them made no sense. I explained again that they seem fake. He said if I give him my name, I can be taken off of the list, and I told him, Im not giving any of my info over the phone and that I could just go on one of the websites that helps your public information to be removed, so that scam companies like SP Activation Services, dont have access to you. He Continues to try and invalidate my argument. He states that there is no way another company would be able to have access to their database, and take my name off of their list. I told him that huge, major companies like *** have even been hacked before! Did he really think that a hacker or another company for that matter, could never have access to his companys database? A database of information that they likely paid for, or obtained through a barely legal loophole. I guess he really thought I was dumb, because the number of people on Reddit as well as BBB, who claim that this company has weird business practices, only reaffirms my initial thought. He asked me to not call them again :D I dont feel bad that I took up his time or flustered him, because if it means that I prevented him from signing an old lady up for coverage that she doesnt need, using barely legal business practices, Im ok with that!
