              on 1/16/21 I had this guy rebuild a water softener that supposedly came with a 5yr rebuild and 1 year labor warranty. On 8/23/22, I had him come to my house to inspect my water softener. My wife let him in to look at my softener since I was not going to be home in time to meet him. By the time I had gotten home, he was already repairing the softener without asking for permission or stating how much it would cost to my wife. I was annoyed by that. When he was done, he charged me $325 for the rebuild and $75 for labor and parts. I thought this was quite high so I paid it. I have called him repeatedly and he states that he cannot find the paper work. I texted him the document I am attaching to this stating that I realized after the fact, that he was just here January of 2021. I have called him many times since to only get voicemail and he does not respond to any of my text messages. He owes me a refund of $325 since it was supposed to be covered by a 5 year rebuild warranty. Now he is avoiding me and I think I should get more than this since he will give me same trouble for the warranty next time it breaks within the 5 year period. No one should have to put up with this.               We bought a new softener from **** in July 2021 for $1500, A few weeks ago there was a leak that resulted in flooding part of our basement. I called **** and he said he'd be out later that day. He never showed. I called him 2 days later and he apologized and said he totally spaced it out but that he'd be out later that day. He never showed. I called again and he again apologized but he PROMISED he'd come the next morning to look at the problem. Again, he failed to show. My wife then called and he said he'd come out the next day - he never showed. My wife called one more time and he never bothered to return the phone call. We've done business with Forest City Water for almost 30 years but will never do so again.
