    Charged for services without my knowledge or approval. My debit is on file with the company, I was told the charge would be $150, however my card was charged $500. The company stated that the service technician was doing me a favor by doing preventive maintenance. Services I didnt ask for or approve. All though the manager stated she understood my frustration, she couldnt issue a refund because the transaction had already gone through and this was livelihood.

    The customer contacted us for a diagnostic service on her HVAC system and approved the $149 diagnostic fee. However, upon inspection, the technician found that the system was in such a state that a proper diagnosis could not be completed without performing extensive maintenance first. In order to proceed, the technician performed the necessary cleaning and maintenance, which resulted in a total charge of $500.

    While our technician should have obtained explicit approval for the additional cleaning prior to performing the work, the service was completed in good faith with the intention of providing an accurate diagnosis and restoring the system to proper working condition.

    After speaking with the customer directly, I explained that while we are unable to refund the $500 due to the work already being completed, I offered to apply the full value of that amount toward a year of future maintenance or service. The customer declined this offer.

    We truly value our customers and strive to resolve any concerns in a fair and reasonable manner. Although the refund could not be issued, our offer for equivalent services remains available should the customer reconsider.

    I reject the business response because: 

    they charged my card without my approval.  All they needed to do was to change my filter.  They charged my card for $500.00.  He should have told me he charged my card. Then they won't give me my money back.
