              I had just gotten out the state mental hospital in 2019. A nonprofit found me an apartment, but I had zero money and NO ONE would hire me. I decided to get my Master's and found AIU. The loans I was able to take out kept me from winding up homeless and lasted until I started receiving disability. Without the student loans AIU made it possible for me to access, I'd probably be on the streets or dead today.
