I have opened numerous cases with the chamberlain IT/ELC department which continue to be closed with no outcome. I have yet to have overall approval for my clinical site even though I have previously been to these locations. I am employeed by my clinical site organization which waves any ******************/needs which seems to be over looked each time. Each class this continues to be an issue. The school has no difficulty taking my money but the lack of communication or care for their students success is distasteful. I received my BSN from this organization and it was a wonderful experience but since starting clinical for grad school with chamberlain has been a completely different experience. I ask to receive faculty approval and to be registered for my class and approval for clinical to start on time. I have little children and an ill family member and the school procrastinating allowing up to two weeks AFTER the course has started to catch up on school work and clinical hours is a slap in the face to myself and my family.Business Response

I am waiting to be approved for a class and it is very difficult to get a hold of someone at Chamberlain. I have waited on hold for over an hour multiple times and am not even able to talk to someone to help me. The system that is set up for the clinical rotations is horrible and they wait until last minute to get us registered. They even allow you to be a week behind to get you registered and are saying thats ok and you have time to catch up. However, most of us work full time and dont have time do two weeks of work in a weeks timeframe. They take forever to register and approve classes and clinical site locations. Its frustrating for many students including myself. All I need to do is talk to a real human to get registered for a class and instead Im on hold for hours. Its ridiculous.Business Response

I am enrolled in Chamberlain University's online FNP/MSN program. The school has made the students seek their own practicum sites, which has been difficult, frustrating, and has cost extra money on top of the already billed tuition. We are supposed to submit the application for the practicum sites 3 months ahead of time, which I did for the July 2023 session and September 2023 session. I had everything completed on my end, but I am still not registered for my next course, which I already should be registered for. They did not respond to my practicum site, which left me responsible for the go between communication, multiple phone calls, and emails. I was assured I would be registered, and did everything right on my end, but they have not. I have two classes left and I am very defeated, and experience severe anxiety on the daily due to their lack of professionalism and communication. Many other students have the same problems, and while others are able to look ahead at the next course and their professor, others of us are left in the dark and to stress and worry if all of our hard work after almost 2 and a half years is going to be ruined because of the school's lack of due diligence, and not helping us in ways that were promised and included from the beginning. Tomorrow is Friday and next week is a holiday week, and then my next course is to begin. I need to be registered for this class ASAP, as promised multiple times, or my place in the program is at jeopardy, from errors on the schools end.Business Response

Chamberlain University has not provided services in a timely manner nor have they been helpful with registration. This has caused me to lose practicum sites due to their lack of support and communication of doing their jobs. I call and email and it gets me no where. Ive been at the same clinical site for the last several semesters and it should not be this difficult to get them to register me in a timely manner. Their ELC/ academic advising has been horrible with communication and getting me registered for my clinical site. It caused me to miss a site last semester after I worked hard to get it due to their lack of communication in a timely manner or at all. I pay this university an enormous amount of money and they do not help and cause me stress due to various reasons. I work full time while trying to complete school. Their lack of services has caused me financial hardship with work and school. Im sick of trying to call and email with no help. I feel helpless. ELC does not take calls from students and it causes a lot of problems. All I want is to get registered for class in a timely manner and better services with ELC to do their job better. Its not only unfair to me but other students who pay this university and have the same problems.Business Response

I have had my application in for my class NR603 for months now and am awaiting faculty approval of my practicum site. It has been in review with faculty for several weeks now and no progress has been made regarding this. Chamberlain sent out an email stating that faculty review would take 2 weeks to approve. It has more than double that time. I have reached out several times regarding this and still the application is with faculty for review. I have had a case submitted to management regarding this to no avail either. I need this practicum application approved so I can continue with the class.Business Response

I submitted the information for my first practicum back in January - about 6 months ago. I have been going back and forth with the *** trying to get my site approved and having minimal communication. They messaged me back a couple of weeks before it was supposed to start the first time and asked for more information. I provided that information to them, but my start did still was moved back. They've been all over the place with placement requirements: First telling me that they could place me with a preceptor and second telling me that if they didn't have an MSW degree they could still be approved with the appropriate credentials. The later was what they've been trying to do, but they sent the site a contract that says that they will provide an MSW preceptor for me and that is not what we all agreed to. It seemed like they just sent a routine contract without looking at the details. Now I am concerned that my practicum is going to be pushed back again and effect my graduation date. They're nearly impossible to get ahold of and when I talk to advising, they don't seem to know what's going on a lot of the time. Even when my support request was escalated, I received a voicemail saying that I had "questions" and that I would be sent an email to respond to. I received no email and had to continue trying to get ahold of the *** in other ways. The students pay ****s of dollars to attend. I'm taking out student loans. I want the school to sent my site the appropriate contracts, according to the information on what I submitted and based on what the site is approved for, ASAP. I genuinely think I should be given a return on my fees due to the amount of stress and time this has cost me because I was promised support when I enrolled in Chamberlain over other comparable universities. I intend to let it go, however, if I am able to start on July 10th like I am supposed to, despite being pushed back a full 8 weeks already.Business Response

I am having communication issues with the Experiential Learning Coordinating (ELC) department regarding my clinical/practicum site for my MSN informatics degree. I have started the process in February and it still has not been approved, which has caused a delay in the completion of my degree. There is no one you can talk to directly about updates or figure out what is going on. I have emailed many times with no response. I call frequently and there are many dead ends and have frequently been told that I just have to wait. Extremely frustrating and I have never experienced anything like this on a college level. No one cares about your future or is willing to help. I am so close to being approved but keep getting a run around.Business Response

I am an alumni at Chamberlain university school of nursing enrolled in the ***** program. I have submitted my application since Feb 14 ************************************************************************************** July. My status is yet to be entirely approved, My preceptor submitted all required documents in February. I have reached out multiple times through email and phone calls. Its impossible getting hold of anyone on the phone with waiting time exceeding 1 hour. We are in June where I am compliant and submitted all required and necessary paperwork in a timely manner, but there is still no no status change a thus no progress. It will be very unfair to have to sit out a semester risking my financial aid and wasting time due to lack of staff and communication that will cost me over $5K. Chamberlains commitment to practicum is not adhering to policy requirements. This is a huge inconvenience for the practicum site, preceptor and myself with an incomplete status I will not be able to find another site in time if for some reason I needed to, and also probably lose my spot with my practicum site and preceptor due to lack of communication and the delay in the practicum approval process. The ***** track is fairly new, where we are told to have to do an immersion weekend 2x in the program that is NOT cost friendly. Although ***** students can benefit from this weekend it is entirely unnecessary and is dedicated for the *** track. The * center in ******* charges a room from $200 a night and there is also an offsite and onsite daily fee that is required that is around $100, not to include flight expense. Something that can be easily implemented online. Due to this school being a private school they maximize on your financial aid by charging APRN resource fee $450 and student service charge $200 every 8 weeks only for you to be on hold for 1 1/2 hour plus or to be told theyre understaffed., emails can be responded to in 3 business days. There is no details what this resource fee entails or student service charge since Im basically on my own. The curriculum entails some ****** and interactive activities, discussions quizzes, midterm and a final. No reviews no powerpoint, some vague broad study guide. I honestly just want to finish my program and continue my education elsewhere, its been a frustrating journey and I dont recommend this school. An adequate solution or outcome to this complaint is an completed status on my practicum application in the coming week. Im hoping this can be resolved as soon as possible as my spot with my preceptor is in jeopardy due to chamberlains lack of staffing issues and delay. Another would be to re-evaluate Immersion weekend for all NP track.Business Response

The July 2023 session begins on July 10, 2023. On June 20, 2023, an Experiential Learning Specialist (ELS) spoke to ************** and provided feedback that the faculty reviewer had been reached to expedite her practicum application. On June 21, 2023, **************** was sent an email confirming registration for her practicum.
Regarding the required Immersion weekend, it is important to note that the NR509 course is part of the general ** core curriculum, and as such, every ** student (including PMH** - Ms. ******* degree program) must complete this course. As with many other professions, **s have adopted the stance that all their practitioners must have a certain amount of common generalist knowledge. Therefore, a comprehensive, advanced physical assessment skills foundation is imperative. Physical disease is more prevalent in people with mental disorders than in the general population. It is necessary for all **s, including PMH**s,to maintain skills in physical examination to ensure that physical illness is diagnosed and treated appropriately. We appreciate all ** students understanding the importance of completing the NR509 course and attending the immersion lab. While the immersion lab is held at the * Center, please note that students may choose to stay overnight at any lodging facility of their choice. Ms. ******* signed Enrollment Agreement explains that students were responsible for the costs associated while participating in the immersion events, and the Chamberlain Academic Catalog further explains the Immersion experience.
Ms. ******* Enrollment Agreement also explained that students in her degree program, among others, are charged a non-refundable *************** charge and APRN Resource Fee. The *************** charge covers support services that benefit the student but are ancillary to the instructional program. Some examples of services supported by this charge are student organizations, activities, recognition, commencement ceremonies, tutoring, and career support services. The APRN Resource Fee is applied toward additional tools used in the ** tracks, such as clinical simulation programs, clinical tracking software, and a review program that helps prepare students to sit for their ** certification exam.
Chamberlain appreciates Ms. ******* feedback regarding the Immersion lab and fees associated with her degree program. We wish her the best during the remainder of her educational experience.

I am so tried of being DISRECPECTED and treated horrible by almost all staff member and faculty at Chamberlain. Again, this school does not care about their full time single parent working students. I got kick out from a lab in which I had to bring my son who is 10 years and this person as been rude to many on many occasions and I do not need to be treated like an inept child or humiliated in front of my whole class. Chamberlain does not allow students to bring children on campus for liability reasons. However, if a student has an emergency, cannot find childcare for an older child, and has notified their instructor, Chamberlain will try to accommodate the child during the students time on campus, if possible.

I'm in the *** program at Chamberlain University and have two classes left, NR603 and NR667. I would have graduated in March 2023 if Chamberlain provided assistance with placement. Unfortunately, that is not the case. So, I sat out of school for 6 months looking for preceptors on my own at first, then decided to go with a company to not waste any more time and spent **** dollars to find a preceptor for the session starting May 8th 2023. Everything was in place except for a mandatory yearly TB test which I did on Tuesday 5/9 and was waiting on the results. I sent an email to the experiential learning coordinator (***) on Thursday 5/11 explaining and provided a doctor's note stating why I could not get the test done earlier. I am expecting and had just been really sick with nausea, vomiting, and migraines the previous two weeks. In that email, I also asked if I could be registered conditionally pending my test result. I called twice on Friday 5/12 spending over 45 minutes on hold each time and spoke with student advising as students do not have access to talk to the *** team except through email and putting in a case in the portal. I explained my email to *** and asked if I could be registered conditionally pending the results with no success. I finally received an email from *** on Tuesday 5/16 stating that I could not be registered because I am not compliant due to the pending TB results. I had submitted the TB results to the compliance team on Monday 5/17 and it was accepted on Wednesday 5/18 making me compliant. I sent an email asking *** that Wednesday how come students were allowed to register up until Wednesday of the second week of class last semester and I could not be afforded that same resolution this semester despite a doctor's note and have not received an answer. So now I am **** dollars short with nothing to show for it. What is different this semester that made me unable to register on Wednesday 5/17 when students were able to last semester.Business Response
