I have been attempting to finish my FNP through chamberlain.. Ive been having trouble finding a practicum site and there was little to no help from the college. When I did find a site there were issues regarding the site. When these issues were addressed, I received no response from the Experiential Learning Comity to start my practicum! Emails and phone calls received no response. It appears to me that my educational career and progression in my nursing career is not of importance to this institution. I would not recommend this college to anyone at all!!Business Response

I have one class left to complete the RN/BSN and this school has denied my appeal application to continue on and informed me that I should start over the program at another school after I have spent close to ****** using all my student loans. How is this fair to me we are talking about 1 class eight weeks. Im being discriminated on I spend 3yrs working on this degree. Chamberlain is not being fair it appears that other students have been given chances because of their race and if the teachers likes them. I have reached out to president **** who have not responded. Pervious instructors have informed me that special requests from students were granted by certain professors and now I'm being told to restart a program that I will not be financially able to do.Business Response

**************** began her enrollment in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program in the May 2019 session. She was academically dismissed at the conclusion of the July 2022 session, which ended on August 27, 2022.
The Chamberlain Academic Catalog explains the Standards of Academic Progress as the following (Exhibit A):
Students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress toward completing their degree program. Satisfactory academic progress is evaluated at the end of each students semester and is measured by the following standards:In addition to GPA and maximum timeframe, Chamberlain has established additional academic standards that are assessed weekly in the **** degree program and after every session for all other programs. Failure to meet these standards will also result in dismissal from Chamberlain.
Specifically, undergraduate students enrolled at Chamberlain beginning in January 2017 and after will be academically dismissed for the following (Exhibit A):
Undergraduate Degree Program:
Two unsuccessful attempts (WF or F)in any combination of nursing courses.
Three unsuccessful attempts in any combination of science* (D, WF or F) or nursing (WF or F) courses.**
Two or more unsuccessful attempts (F)in a repeated transitional studies course.
* Does not apply to science elective courses.
** Prior to September 2017, a "D" was considered an unsuccessful science grade.
During Ms. ******* enrollment in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing undergraduate program, she earned unsuccessful grades in the following courses:
May 2019 Session Math114N March 2022 Session NR452
July 2019 Session NR222 July 2022 Session NR452
July 2019 Session NR283
At the conclusion of the July 2019 session, **************** was academically dismissed for having two unsuccessful attempts in any combination of nursing courses (D, WF or F) (NR222 July 2019 and NR283 July 2019).
As stated in the Academic Catalog (Exhibit A), a student who has been dismissed for failing to meet standards of academic progress may appeal the action by completing an Appeal for Reinstatement form. **************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was approved on October 8, 2019. She re-enrolled at Chamberlain for the January 2020 term.
At the conclusion of the March 2022 session, in which **************** earned a failing grade in NR452, she was academically dismissed for having two unsuccessful attempts (WF or F) in any combination of nursing courses (NR452 March 2022 and NR222 July 2019)and three unsuccessful attempts in any combination of science* (D, WF or F) or nursing (WF or F) courses (NR452 March 2022, NR222 July 2019 and NR283 July 2019). **************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was approved on June 24, 2022. She re-enrolled at Chamberlain for the July 2022 session.
**************** re-enrolled in NR452 for the July 2022 session. At the conclusion of the July 2022 session, in which **************** earned a withdraw/failing grade in her second attempt of NR452, she was academically dismissed for having two unsuccessful attempts (WF or F) in any combination of nursing courses (NR452 July 2022 and NR452 March 2022) and three unsuccessful attempts in any combination of science* (D, WF or F) or nursing (WF or F) courses (NR452 July 2022, NR452 March 2022, and NR222 July 2019).
**************** submitted an Appeal for Reinstatement after being academically dismissed and it was denied on October 7,2022. The basis for the denial was that the documented mitigating circumstances did not sufficiently establish justifiable cause for failing to meet standards of academic progress. Additionally, the students plan for academic success did not demonstrate significant indication that standards of academic progress would be met in the future. **************** submitted an Appeal of the Reinstatement Decision which was denied on February 3, 2023. The basis for the denial was due to the students poor academic history and the lack of plan to change strategies.
After reviewing Ms. ******* complaint,we have found the Appeal for Reinstatement process was completed correctly. Additionally, **************** has not provided any new information that would affect the original decision of the denial of her Appeal for Reinstatement. The denial of the Appeal for Reinstatement will stand.

I was dropped from Chamberlain University Nurse Practitioner Program due to GPA on October 27, 2022. I did some research and decided I would like to do ****** University's DNP program anyway, it was a better fit. I had no ill feelings toward Chamberlain. In order to get my financial aid transferred to ****** from Chamberlain, their financial department must cancel the pending disbursements in the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system. I have contacted them multiple times and waited on hold for many hours. The financial office keeps telling me it is done and then I get an email about my financial aid awarded to Chamberlain. Please I need help. They are just flat out lying to me and refusing to cancel my aid even though I am not enrolled in any classes and not a student there anymore. They are holding my financial aid hostage.Business Response

Completed FNP Program with Chamberlain. Submitted request for Validation Of APRN Education Form (***) October 31, 2022, received by CU November 2, 2022. It is incomplete. The **** has sent multiple requests via email (copying me) to the office of the Registrar requesting that the *** be corrected: I transferred a course from ****** **** that was accepted into CUs FNP program. The **** instructions clearly state the *** "lists any transfer courses with course number and title from the institution where the course was taken." Chamberlain completed the *** TWICE, incorrectly. The most recent request from the **** was January 5, 2023 again asking for the document to corrected. Throughout this process, I have contacted the school over 10 times, speaking with several staff that are "escalating" my concerns. I've requested that a supervisor return my call, to no avail. I have been waiting and calling and waiting for Chamberlain to simply fix the *** so that I can sit for my board exam. The **** will not provide authorization for me to test without the *** being corrected.Business Response

On October 31,2022, **************** submitted a Validation of Advanced ************************** (***) form to complete. The Chamberlain ********************* completed the form, based on the instructions provided on the form. The completed form was then sent via email to ************************************ (****) and the student via email on November 2, 2022.
On December 7,2022, *************************** from the **** emailed Chamberlain and stated that the *** form was missing information. ***************** stated the following in her email, Please ensure that the *** course numbers and titles are congruent between the form and the courses taken by the student, at the school they were accepted from.
Because the **** was asking Chamberlain to validate a course that was transferred from another institution, the request had to be further reviewed and approved by Chamberlain leadership. The *** request was updated and sent to the **** and the student on January 5, 2023. On the same day ***************** responded via email with the following, The revised Validation of Education form lists NR 507 "*Note- we accepted this as transfer credit for ext institution as chamberlains NR 507." Please note that we require that the *** lists any transfer courses with course number and title from the institution where the course was taken.
On January 20,2023, a Chamberlain representative left a voicemail for ****************** to discuss the exact wording for the ***. However, to date, ****************** has never returned the phone call.
The *** form was updated, as requested by ******************, approved to be sent again by Chamberlain leadership and sent by email to ****************** on January 25, 2023. ***************** responded by email on January 26, 2023, with the following, The document received below lists the Advanced Pathophysiology course as "NR 507 Advanced Pathophysiology." Cerita's Chamberlain transcript indicates this course was taken at ****** University. Please ensure that the course title and course number match Cerita's transcript where the course was taken. The *** form was updated, as requested, and emailed to *******************
On January 30,2023, **************** contacted Chamberlain by phone and stated that the *** was incorrect. She stated that the form needed to state the school where the transfer course was taken. **************** also went on to state that ****************** only communicated by email. The *** form was updated per **************** directions, approved by Chamberlain leadership, and sent to ****************** and **************** on February 1, 2023.

I am currently a student at Chamberlain University in the family nurse practitioner masters degree program. I have been compliant with all of my schoolwork, and passed all my classes, and Chamberlain has not provided me with registration for the next course. I was told that I would be registered by the registration date which is today. I have been calling this university regarding this matter for over two weeks, with not one person getting back to me at all. I have been repeatedly lied to, hung up on, and told I would be registered for this class by January 9, 2023. No one has called me back regarding this matter, and I would like a resolution. I will now lose two months of time toward my degree, and not to mention the countless amount of hours I have spent on hold, trying to get a hold of someone that could help me. Once again, I was told today that a manager would contact me regarding this matter, and it would be resolved. No one has contacted me, and I am supposed to be at my scheduled course clinical tomorrow, which I can now not attend. Chamberlain needs to be held accountable for lying to the students who have done nothing to deserve this treatment. I only have seven months left until I graduate, now it will be pushed back to 10 months, with no explanation.Business Response

Hello, I am a student at Chamberlain University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. I am currently in the clinical portion of my program and we are to find our own placements. The clinical site I submitted for already had a contract with the school which made the application review easier for the faculty. Classes start today, January 9th. I have relentlessly been calling our Experiential Learning Coordinators (ELC) since submitting my application for this site. I was told last week that they reached out to the clinical site director to confirm how many students would be working with ******************** per day. I followed up with the clinical site director to ensure they received a response by Friday of last week as I need the practicum approval to register for the course that started today. The director sent ELC the requested response on Thursday, January 5th confirming that no more than two students would be with ******************** on any given day. I received an email from ELC over the weekend stating the clinical site was denied because they don't allow more than two students per session instead of two student per day which was never relayed or stated as the problem. This delay, and not being able to contact ELC over the weekend has now put me in a predicament and forcing me to push my progress in the program back an entire course. With perseverance and determination, I asked them to escalate this to the **** of students but they could not guarantee I would get approval or still be registered for this course. I feel there is an easy way to work this out but my voice is not being heard and I cannot get in communication with the appropriate parties to resolve this matter.Business Response

The communication between students and the facility has been horrible. I have been emailing for several weeks with no return communication. Their website states that they should be contacting me back within 48 hours. I have also called and left messages to be called back with no success. I have tried multiple times to contact *** and other departments with no success. As students we were never informed of the *** department being off for the holidays. In fact when I did email several weeks ago I was told that someone would be in the department helping students register for classes throughout the holidays. I have had my end of the requirements for practicum registration completed for some time and have been reaching out to get registered for class with no success. Not only does this set me behind, as I cannot purchase my school materials or participate in preview week, but it makes me appear VERY unprofessional to my practicum site. They have even requested things from the school with no response. I have followed up on that months ago and was told that the materials were sent over but in fact my site contact stated they were not. This reflects poorly on me and makes me look ill-prepared when in fact I have been doing everything I need to. It should not be this hard to get in contact with someone at a university, especially when I am paying to go there. It is frustrating and a waste of my time trying to get someone at this school to answer me back. This could very well impact my ability to work at this site in the future after graduation. I will not be recommending Chamberlain to anyone who asks me and honestly I would unenroll and find another school if any other school would accept my credits.Business Response

I am currently a student who has been paying out of pocket for classes. I have been trying to a few weeks to get approved to get registered for my next class with no call backs or emails regarding the situation - I get sent to a voicemail box of a person who apparently no longer works there. I have tried to resolve this situation with the university itself with no success. I just want to get registered for my class so I can continue with this program. This university has been in business long enough to not have to experience these types of issues. It is preview week where students can review the upcoming classes while some of us cannot get registered its an unfair advantage for people who are registered to be able to work ahead if needed while I cannot review my class, buy my book that is needed to start January 9, 2023.Business Response

I am a student in the online FNP program at Chamberlain University. In order to start the clinical course NR 511 on January 9, a practicum site is needed. I secured a practicum by paying via an outside service because the university was not helpful. I have a preceptor that was approved, the site approved, and the *****************. All medical compliance is completed and verified by email from the compliance department. I cannot be registered for the class until I have the final check from the experiential learning team who handles practicum. The person handling my case is no longer employed. Emails are sent and a case is assigned with no response. The number is called and no one answers; a message is left and no one returns the call. Education is a paid service and they are keeping their end of the contract and not helpful, but it is ok to send a bill that money is owed. All I am asking for is to be cleared for registration by the Experiential learning coordinator. There are many students in the same predicament.Business Response

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
