      KEMPER LIFE is full of incompetent customer service representatives. I am so disappointed in how they are handling my sisters death claim my family has been doing business with them for years Ive never dealt with so much chaos before . Lets get started shall we . My sister passed away in April 2025 we contacted kemper life in may 2025 to get the death claim started. my grandmother who is the policy owner passed away in 2018 so the next of kin would be me to take care of everything so I though . I spoke to a customer service representative he told me no one else was listed on this policy as a beneficiary only my grandmother so I proceeded to handle funereal arrangements. my sister was buried may 23rd 2025 . My family and I called in June of 2025 to see if the funeral has been paid out they told us no because they needed my grandmothers death certificate , we sent it in . Yesterday I called to see if the claim has been paid out now their saying its a second beneficiary on the policy who is my aunt who is the black sheep of the family , also who we cant get in contact with and that she has to sign the claim .. this is complete bs only because 3 customer service representative assured us that no one else was listed as a beneficiary on the policy.. KEMPER LIFE PLEASE DO BETTER WITH TRAINING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE there should be no way your company didnt catch this when my family and I first reached out to you guys . Your company should be closed down immediately for dealing with your clients in this matter riat there most difficult time my family and I will be pulling the other policies we have with this company!!

      Absolute worst customer service and ********************** ever. i filed a death claim and sent all paperwork required per the agent, including my SSN for payment. One week later, I received a voicemail stating they needed my SSN, which I had already submitted. I made phone calls back to the agent every day for one week before I received a callback. They stated they had everything they needed, and she would help expedite the process. Several weeks later, after receiving no payment, I called the local office and got no answer, leaving several messages with no callback. I finally decided to call the 800 number, which only goes to a foreign country. They stated they needed the death certificate. No one ever said they needed the death certificate. I assumed they made the call, as Mutual of Omaha did, and received the necessary information. Not once did the agent say they needed that, and not once did I ever receive a call stating they still needed it. If I had not called back in, I would never have received any payout, which, as of today, I still have not received. After multiple calls to the local office with no answer, I was forced to speak with people outside the **, which was the worst experience I've ever had. And to make the matter even worse, three weeks after my mother passed away, they called wanting payment for the next month. I have no idea how they are rate A+

      Was involved in a car accident months ago and I've had a hard time getting ahold to the claims adjuster and each time I do they say they sent my check but it never arrives then they cancel it and resend it, they have canceled it and resent it multiple times in the past month. I asked to speak to corporate and the claim adjuster said she was "corporate" and when I expressed my dissatisfaction they disconnected my call and for days I couldn't get through to the claim adjuster and I am still waiting for my check which will probably not come and be canceled and resent again.

      If I could leave 0 stars I would. Can’t imagine what it would be like to be a customer. One, that would mean I have next to nothing as far as income goes. Two, I would have to deal with useless people at this company. Person insured by Kemper hit my car (probably intoxicated) and not magically the car that hit me is off the plan. Of course they have no interest in paying despite their customer hitting me, oh and you think they might have told me that information a few days after the accident? Nope, they told me about a month after because my useless “adjustor” didn’t answer a single call or email right up until she magically had that information available. If this company went bankrupt I would rejoice. BBB needs to stop letting people pay for accreditation because A+ is the most incorrect letter grade for this company.

      My old carrier was exaggerating my renewal prices. I have been with kemper for 3 terms and my prices are reasonable. Also their customer service and claims department are great and proactive when it comes to questions about my policy.

      I got into a car accident 4 months ago , the other driver was found responsible and he had kemper insurance. I submitted all the documents and pictures through their portal and they have not updated me . Ive called and left messages multiple times and I have yet to receive any response.

      I purchased a commercial Auto Insurance policy from these guys June 16, 2025. The representative told me that she was federally file my policy with the *****. Four days later, I reached out to the *****, and they did not file the policy.I called Kemper, and a representative advised me that they in fact, do not file federal DOT and MC numbers. The representative connected me to an underwriter who seem like he wasnt interested in nothing that I said he said that he would listen to the conversation per recording that I have with the representative to decide if he wanted to give me a *********** with this company at your own risk I would highly suggest to go elsewhere!!!!!!

      Review Title: Unreachable, Unhelpful, and UnfairKemper Failed Us When It Mattered Most My experience with Kemper Auto Insurance has been extremely frustrating. While I purchased my policy through a broker in **********, I was told they couldn't help me once it came to handling claims. I was directed to contact the parent companyKemper, based in *******, **** handle a dispute regarding fault in an accident involving my family member.We received a letter giving us 30 days to appeal the decision, and I began reaching out immediatelyon April 25. But trying to get in touch with anyone at Kemper was a nightmare. I had to go through multiple automated phone menus before even reaching a live person. And once I did, the person usually couldnt help and would transfer me to someone elseoften to voicemail.I left multiple voicemails, emails, and phone calls during that 30-day period. Not one of my messages was returned. I even had a customer support associate send an email to my adjustor on my behalf. It wasnt until after the deadline passed that I finally spoke to someone. One adjuster told me it was outside the scope of his role. The other told me flat out that it was too late to appealeven though I had been trying to reach him and his manager the entire time.The most frustrating part? Were now stuck with increased premiumsin **********, one of the most expensive states to insure a vehiclebecause of a situation we were never even given a fair chance to contest.Kemper completely failed us. They were unresponsive, disorganized, and dismissive at a time when we needed real support. We followed all instructions, but they didnt. I do not feel protected by this company, and I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone who might ever need real help after an accident.
