Since March 2023, the BBB has been working with MdHearingAid regarding their advertisement in which the following claims on their ads were challenged:
- Provide substantiation that the NEO device is FDA Registered
- Provide substantiation that the “Doctor Recommended” testimonials are from real doctors who have used/tested the NEO device
- Remove A+ BBB Rating from all print ads as MDHearingAid currently does not hold this BBB rating
- Provide substantiation for the claim of “The Doctor’s Choice For Affordable Hearing Aids…Everyone LOVES MDHearing.”
- What is the affiliation of MDHearingAid with As Seen On TV, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, The Times as it is being advertised on the print ad?
- Buy 1 Get 1 Offer– When does this end? The ad says Limited Time Only.
- Regular price advertised is $299.98 and when you buy each at $149.99, the price is $299.98. On your website, a pair is $299.98. And the regular price for just 1 NEO is $499.99. Does MDHearingAid actually sell 1 hearing aid at $299.98?
- What are the terms of the 45-Day Risk Free Trial and 100% Money-Back Guarantee? How do consumers receive this? This is not disclosed on the print ad.
- The ad also states “Bonus…Be sure to enter Offer Code XXXX to receive Free Shipping”, however, when purchasing on the website, it is already has free shipping.
As of 11/29/2023, the business has provided answers to these items and business informed the BBB that there is always a free gift that changes regularly. However, the sale price does not end and we have not received substantiation that the business has sold their products at the regular price to have a true sale price. The business continues to not meet BBB Code of Advertising standards, specifically section 2 and 9.

Additional business information
The business has responded to the Ad review letters but stated the same information as the last review completed in 2021. The business has currently Sec 9. Sales. per 9.2 Time limit sales must be observed. As the sale of the hearing aid have not ended and has not been "limited time only!" They have not addressed this issue in their email response. Also, the business has stated on their flyers that they have a current rating of A+ but as of today the business has a rating of B+.
As of 6/2/2022 the business has not addressed the advertising concerns.
On 11/30/2022, BBB contacted the business regarding their advertised products on their website. The business was asked to address the previous concerns for the company's print AD, business has not addressed previous print Ad issues as required by BBB’s Code of Advertising.
The business advertised the following product on their print AD:
“BUY 1 GET 1 FREE
New Low Price
REG. $299.98Only $149.99
Each When You Buy A Pair – Plus Free Shipping LIMITED TIME ONLY!”
In addition, the print ad states:
“How can a rechargeable hearing aid that costs only $149.99 be every bit as good as one that sells for $2,400 or more?”
“The MDHearingAid VOLT uses the same kind of Technology incorporated into hearing aids that cost thousands more at a small fraction of the price.”
The BBB Code of Advertising States:
1. Basic Principles of the Code
1.1 The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
1.2 Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.
1.3 An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true.
1.4 Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact.
As of 12/19/2022, business has not responded to BBB emails or substantiated claims.
