On 8/6/23, I contracted Motivated Movers to move me from my apartment to a unit in the next building following a flood. MM had moved me the year before, and I had a great experience. They billed me for 7.5 hrs to move me from a 2 bdrm apartment with a one car garage another unit that was a few feet away. All there was to move was furniture and a some storage tubs. I had moved everything myself. They came unprepared with no tools or paperwork. I had to supply the tools and hand truck, I had a Pottery Barn desk that they could not figure out how to disassemble even though I provided the directions. They sat around waiting for their manager to call, lying on the floor, taking extended bathroom breaks, etc. They were slow, unorganized and unprofessional throughout the day.When they left, I called *************************, manager, to explain my dissatisfaction. He agreed with me and immediately told me that he would refund me for the time lost due to the desk issue and would investigate other concerns. I also told him that the amount of time billed was ridiculous considering how small the job was, and I had contracted for three movers. In addition, I informed him that the movers showed up blasting loud rap music that was vulgar and continued to swear throughout the day.When I spoke with ***** a week later, he told me he would provide a refund of 1.5 hours as a courtesy. He told me that he would send out someone to put the desk back together along with other pieces of furniture they could not figure out how to re-assemble. I still have not received a refund or had my furniture repaired. ***** told me that he would not issue me a refund, since I did not like his initial offer, and I offended him by giving him a bad Yelp review. The review came after he stopped communicating with me. He accused me of being old (discrimination), since I did not like the offensive music. He also retaliated against me because I provided a review on Yelp.
