My vehicle was sent here by ***** insurance after an undercarriage accident. The shop refuses to address any issues pertaining to inspect of the vehicle. They also damaged my vehicle by ripping the heat shield off and causing further damage, which they tried to blame me and the dealership for. I am unhappy with the service I received and will be having my vehicle towed elsewhere.Business Response

The damage to the lower engine shield was caused by the object the vehicle struck prior to arrival, not as a result of work performed at our facility. The attached photo provides documentation of this pre-existing damage. Prior to receiving this complaint, we contacted the ***** adjuster to request the vehicle be transferred to a facility of the owner's choosing.Initial Complaint

Kendrick’s is full of it. Crooks! They are liars told me it would only take 2 to 3 weeks to fix my car I explained I do not have rental because I always keep 2 cars, yet my other car is small. I explained that to them that I need my car for hauling with my trailer. They said ok 2 weeks 3 tops. I had an appointment for the ** **** After hurricane my car was to be ready for pick up on time by the text I was receiving on **** ** I texted back asked if I could pick up that Wednesday ***** ************ *** **** ******** and car was ready that Friday. Got a call that car never was disassembled was still in yard I explained I had just rented a car for the previous weekend thinking my car was getting fixed. She told me I could have used my car that weekend. I was so mad. I sent copy of rental at that time she said she could not do anything I said fine when will my car be ready if you read all the text it will outline the truth that these people took me through. Such misery I have asthma I almost went into an asthma attack because the second time it was saying my car was ready they said they got me mixed up with someone else..bullcrap. I need a discount on my deductible from my rental and they drove my car I never drive my car with 1/4 tank of gas they broke my dash cam and my crystal hanger from my mirror. They told me a simple scratch was $2800 and ended up $6300 they are crooks and rip offs. Black people stay away from them. They put my health in jeopardy of an asthma attack. They just did not give a ****. It’s all about the money for them. They really screwed me and if I did get a rental through my insurance they would have screwed them for that as well. Giving copies to my insurance company to never ever put me on there list. I never want to here of Kendrick’s again. They are rip offs. I just picked up today *** **. I believe they drove my car and damaged it again. I have all the text messages as proofBusiness Response

We sincerely appreciate our customers' patience as we work diligently to address the backlog caused by the increased volume of hurricane-damaged vehicles. As communicated at the outset, this situation may result in delays.
Regarding the customer's request for a deductible discount during repairs, we must clarify that deductibles are contractual payments defined by the insured’s policy. Unfortunately, we are unable to waive these amounts. We understand that the cost of repairs can be surprising, especially when a seemingly straightforward issue leads to higher expenses. Modern vehicles are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as cameras and lane departure sensors. When a vehicle is disassembled or involved in a collision, these sensors must be recalibrated according to OEM specifications to ensure proper functionality and safety. For instance, the repair in question required blind spot calibration, which amounted to approximately $1,000. These calibrations significantly impact repair costs, and vehicles are transported to our specialized calibration center, followed by a test drive to verify accuracy. A picture of the speedometer calibration is provided for documentation.
We also have detailed records showing multiple communications with the customer regarding repair updates and any delays due to the backlog. Our manager and area manager have noted that the customer initially expressed frustration in a hostile manner, using profanity and anger. However, following a phone call in which the customer apologized, the company agreed to proceed with the repair under the condition that it would be completed by *********.
Thank you again for your understanding and support.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I have plenty of text I do need to submit of how they kept lying about my car being ready. If they knew the were backed up why didn’t they cancel my appointment knowing the car was drivable and they knew my situation that I needed my car for hauling, at least until they was ready for it. I do believe someone drove it and did something more to it. The second time they lied I asked for my car back. I was called back asking if they can do it in another week by the **** would I please let them fix. By how low my gas was I wished I had picked up because I never leave my gas had at a 1/4 of a tank. Either I’m black or just a female I was taken advantage of. On the **** they called me at 4:18 pm when they close at 5pm I live in ********* and they are in Martinez I did not have a ride at the last minute then they tell me pick up Monday. So messed up. I have asthma and all this is a strain. Yet they kept lying. My broken things and my gas missing. By me getting a rental at 277.00 when I could have driven my own car. They tell me after the fact at least pay for that rental. $277.00.
Sincerely,
******* ****Business Response

In the automotive collision repair industry, a variety of factors influence the estimated completion date for repairs. As the work progresses, this estimated date may need to be adjusted due to circumstances, such as delayed or backordered parts, awaiting supplement approval from insurance companies, and other unforeseen variables. These adjustments were communicated promptly to the customer as they occurred. It is important to note these delays are unrelated to race or gender and are simply a reflection of the industry’s nature.
Regarding the previous inquiry about driving, we have already addressed this matter, but we are happy to clarify further. After repairs, vehicles are transported to our specialized calibration center in downtown Augusta for necessary calibration. Following calibration, the vehicle undergoes a test drive to ensure everything is functioning properly. Once verified, the vehicle is driven back to our Martinez location for delivery to the customer. Finally, the customer was provided with and signed the authorization to repair paperwork, which includes acknowledgment of all policies, including the rental car policy stating Kendrick will not cover any rental charges. Please find attached a screenshot of this section, complete with the customer's signature.

I took my car to Kendrick’s Paint and Body on 08/28/24. As of today my car still isn’t repaired correctly. The first time they said it was ready on 10/30/24 the bumper was coming a part due to them placing a two sided tape to repair it. I took it back and the manager Kenny said that it would expand in the sun and come a part because my car is cheaply made. The trunk latch was broken off and the trunk wouldn’t close correctly. My trunk is still not repaired. I picked my car up and to find my windshield seal is coming off.,Business Response

The shop manager has tried to review concerns at delivery; however, the customer stated she was in a hurry and left without reviewing the repair. The manager reached out to schedule another time, but none has been set. This morning, we reached out via email to schedule a time for the CEO and COO to review the vehicle repair with the customer. We are awaiting a response from the customer.Initial Complaint

On ***** *** 2023 I took my wife’s *** ***** ** ********** ***** *** **** for a minor repair. This was scheduled in ******** 2023 for us to bring to them to begin working on it on ***** **. We were informed that the car would be ready on ***** **, 2023. We called Kendrick’s on morning of ***** **, to find out time this day it would be ready. ******* with Kendrick’s had numerous contacts with us leading up to this day, verifying that it would be ready. ******* called me back at 3:30pm to let us know it would now be ******* *** * before it was ready. Which is totally unacceptable. When a company gives you a date they should meet their commitment. I need somebody to fix this problem and fix it now. This has now become a major inconvenience.Business Response

Unfortunately, automotive collision repair is not an exact science, and delays can be encountered throughout the repair process. This vehicle experienced a delay in the refinish (paint stage), and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or miscommunication to the customer. The complaint is asking for "finish the job/billing adjustment". The vehicle has been finished and picked up. What type of billing adjustment is requested?Customer Answer
