I am filing a complaint against ATL Parking for what I believe to be a fraudulent parking ticket and predatory collection tactics. On 07/30/2025, I parked at ************** and paid for my parking via the companys system. After completing dinner as we walked back to our car we were receiving a ticket on our vehicle. We quickly checked the meter and saw we had 2 minutes left on our park. We immediately spoke with the parking attendant who issued the ticket, and she admitted she had given the ticket too early. She advised us to appeal the ticket.I followed the companys appeal process and provided the facts. However, they responded by saying there was not enough evidence to overturn the ticket. They are now stating that I must either go to court or face a warrant for my arrestover a $35 parking ticket. The company claims there was no proof my license plate was paid for in their system. This is inaccurate, as the ticket was issued two minutes before my parking period began, meaning if I had not paid, they would have ticketed me regardless. The attendant admitted fault, but the company is refusing to acknowledge it.Additionally, I never received an email confirmation of my payment from their system, despite paying. This raises serious concerns about the reliability of their payment system and their lack of evidence claim. This is an unethical and predatory business practiceessentially extorting payment under threat of legal action for a ticket that should never have been issued. I am requesting that the BBB investigate and that my ticket be dismissed without further harassment.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because it is unethical and predatory to require someone to go to court over a $35 parking ticketespecially one that was wrongfully issued.
The parking attendant who ticketed my vehicle admitted on the spot that the ticket was issued too early and advised me to appeal. I followed their appeal process, yet the company still denied it without sufficient justification.
Forcing consumers into court for such a small amount, when the companys own employee confirmed the ticket was issued in error, is an abuse of process and an intimidation tactic. Under the Fair Business Practices Act of Georgia (O.C.G.A. 10-1-390 et seq.), businesses are prohibited from engaging in unfair or deceptive acts that harm consumers. Threatening legal action over a clearly mistaken ticket falls into this category.
Additionally, requiring a court appearance for a $35 ticket creates further financial harm by forcing consumers to miss work, lose wages, and incur transportation costseffectively costing far more than the alleged violation itself. This approach appears to be designed to pressure payment rather than to resolve disputes fairly.
I request that this ticket be dismissed immediately and that the company cease any further collection or threats of legal action.
Sincerely,
***** *****Business Response

The citation has been reviewed by ATLPlus investigation team as well as The City of Atlanta Review Team. Unfortunately your only option to get this citation dismissed will be to appear in court.

I reject the companys response again. Their repeated refusal to provide basic details stating you would need to go to court to see details on the casesuch as which license plate was allegedly input or what email confirmation was sentshows a lack of transparency and raises serious concerns about the validity of their claims.
This $35 ticket stems from a clear mistake made by their own employee, who admitted at the time that the ticket was issued too early and advised me to appeal. Instead of correcting the error, the company continues to push blame onto the customer and hide behind vague statements about reviews by their team and the City of Atlanta review boardwithout sharing any actual evidence.
Attempting to collect money under threat of legal action for a possible clerical or system error is not only poor customer service, it is morally wrong and, under Georgias Fair Business Practices Act (O.C.G.A. 10-1-390 et seq.), may constitute an unfair or deceptive business practice.
This situation is about more than $35its about a business refusing to own its mistake and instead forcing consumers into an exhausting appeals process over a minor, wrongful ticket. I request that the BBB take note of this pattern of behavior, and that the company immediately dismiss the ticket and confirm no further legal action will be pursued.
Sincerely,

Was wrongly issued a ticket in front of my home for $150 even though I have a valid parking permit. Officer juxtaposed letters on my license plate so my valid permit did not show in the system.Business Response

On June 10th of 2025, my husband and I went to the passport office on ******** St, MLK Jr *** My husband paid for the parking meter through his phone to a company called SP plus parking! We returned 15 minutes later to my vehicle and left. On July 7th 2025, I received a notice in the mail stating I had received a parking ticket and not responded in the appeal timeline and now owed double, which is $70. I called to validate that this was not a scam due to the fact that no ticket was placed on my vehicle. I was told the ticket was legit and in the system. I asked if a ticket should have been placed on my vehicle and was told yes. I also inquired as to why the amount was doubled within the 30 days and was told the online information was not correct and fines doubled after 14 days, rather than the 30 days noted online. This is totally unfair and sickens me to think that this is allowed by the city of Atlanta. At this point I will definitely no longer choose to do any type of business or pleasure in the city of Atlanta where parking is required. I am paying the $70 online today because I have never had any type of tickets and dont want any other problems that can be caused by this unfair situation. The officer listed, ******, B. took pictures of my vehicle and the parking meter but neglected to leave a ticket on the vehicle. I would have been able to appeal with the information from my husbands account if I had received the ticket on my vehicle that day. I even questioned if we used the wrong meter information, but as we went back today just to be sure, it definitely seemed correct. Even if we would have put in the wrong meter information, officer Asburys negligence of putting the ticket on the vehicle would have cost me $35 instead of $70. I hope this complaint reaches the right persons to prevent issues like this from happening again.Business Response

This company ATLPark is such a fraud. I parked in a valid parking space along the side of the road. No red curb, no yellow curb, no signage, no fire hydrant. I returned to my vehicle to see a parking ticket which claimed I was blocking the crosswalk. I was not blocking the crosswalk. I submitted a dispute online with numerous photos. Never received any confirmation if my dispute was even received. A few weeks later, I received mail on the afternoon of 6/2 instructing me to appear in court at 8am on the morning of 6/2, which had already passed. They claim that they mailed it on 5/19, but if they did, **** is slow. I called the court and they told me I would have to come speak to the clerk in person. Went downtown to the municipal court (wasting more time and money on parking) and they told me they couldn't help me and directed me to the ParkATL booth. The lady in the ParkATL booth couldn't help and told me to call ParkATL customer service. The phone number she gave me is disconnected.Business Response

I just received a notice of unpaid parking citation today on 05/31/2025 with the issue date of 11/08/2024. I looked up the citation number and it shows no photos of my vehicle nor does it give an option to appeal this. There also isn't a court date available. This is fraud. I'm requesting this to be dismissed. And why does the letter have BBB accredited when this website clearly says the company is not accredited.Business Response

I am filing this complaint in response to a parking ticket I received on 04/22/2025. I am deeply frustrated and disappointed by this citation, as I had paid for my parking and displayed the receipt clearly on my dashboard as instructed. The parking meter did not prompt me to enter my license plate number at the time of payment. I followed all procedures to the best of my ability and have attached proof of payment, which includes the date, time, and location of the transaction. Despite this, I was issued a ticket without justification.I have already attempted to appeal this ticket through their internal system, and I am now escalating this issue as I believe the citation is unfair and amounts to a failure in their own payment system, not user error.Desired Resolution: I am requesting that this citation be voided immediately and removed from any record associated with my vehicle. Additionally, I would like the parking authority to review and update its procedures to prevent this kind of incident from happening to other drivers.Business Response

2/28/2025 - Paid Atlanta Plus Mobility $2.35 for parking in front of ***************** but was given a $35 fine. Sent them photos of the pending transaction on 2/28/25 on my credit card that only went through on 3/3/2025. I sent in my proof to ATL Plus and yesterday got a letter in the mail saying my only recourse was to go to court. So a full day off work to avoid a $35 bogus fine. I want to be clear as of today 3/20/2025 - I have not paid the $35 fine - I am hopeful someone from ATL Plus will contact me and correct this issue. Thanks! ***Business Response

Predatory company -- received a citation within 60 seconds of parking and leaving my vehicle. The site to pay for parking indicates you can pay for as little as 15, 30, or 45 minutes but gives an error message when you try. It forces you to commit to 1 hour at minimum when I only need 20 minutes to get a haircut. I believe this is done on purpose so people will either pay more for time they don't need, or to encourage people to give up on paying for a quick errand so that ATL Plus can slap a ticket on your vehicle as soon as they see you aren't around any longer. They even ticketed my vehicle once while I was inside my car after just parking. Just a predatory company all around and they will charge an outrageous "processing fee" to add salt to the wound if you pay online as well. Pure greed.Business Response

Good Afternoon,
Please note if you are using a card as your method of payment, then the minimum you can pay is 1hr which is $2.00. You may choose our online Text-To Pay option and pay in the time increments of 15, ***** and etc. Also note if you pay cash that well allow you to pay for the exact time you are requesting. I hope this infomation is helpful in the near future.

I am rejecting this response because:There Is no text-to-pay option when following the steps provided in the message sent. The site gives an error message for any time less than an hour, essentially forcing people to pay for time they do not need which influences consumers to give up on trying to pay, ultimately risking a hefty fine - this is a textbook example of a predatory practice.

I got a ticket in the mail from ATL plus that I owe a balance of $150 for parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk. To start off, on the paperwork, it says the citation was issued on 8/12/2024. The mail date is 8/31/2025 but I just got the citation in the mail on 3/8/2024. I looked up the street on ****** maps and I was never on that street. Also, there isnt any picture evidence on the citation paper either.Business Response
