The company provided me with a cost estimate before my procedure of $375.00. They assured me this included all doctors and services/facilities. A few weeks after the procedure I started getting bills for over $1000. Finally they realized some mistakes but continue sending bills for $333.34. I have called both their billing department and the doctors office and they refer you to the other. They have no reason or explanation. I understand some minor charges, but to double the cost and then not try to help with it, is unacceptable. I've also noticed through ****** reviews that this seems to be a common business practice as there are many complaints about it.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because the extra charges are for the anesthesiologist which are costs they should have been aware of. This was not just a problem with me - Upon reading their reviews it is clear this is a business practice. Why would they go through an estimation process if they knew it was not correct. They looked up all codes and compared them to the insurance - they knew what insurance would and would not cover. This charge should have been included in their estimation and the coverage form insurance did not change.

I went to have a colonoscopy at Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates - ********************************** ************** back on May 12, 2025. I was given the amount to pay before having the colonoscopy done. I paid around $800 out of pocket the rest insurance was covering. A few weeks after the procedure I started receiving additional bills even though I was told the amount I paid before the procedure was done was all I had to pay. I called Alanta gastroenterology associates of Stockbridge and let them know I received a bill for around $80 and why was I being charged for it and they told me someone entered in the wrong data as if I had multiple insurances which I don't, so they told me I don't owe anything and theyre submitting the claim to my insurance provider. Today I received another bill from Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates for the same colonoscopy procedure I already paid for. I called them and asked what am I being charged for and I told them that I had to call them about a month ago for a similar issue that was caused by them for a mistake of billing. Today I was told to email United Digestive which is the email I've attached to this complaint and have not received a response back. I keep getting billed for the same procedure and I received a bill from a hospital I've never been to relating to this procedure it was because they sent over scans to them. They are committing unfair billing practices and the person I spoke today said they received a lot of calls similar to this billing issue.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: This is not a resolution and ***** said she will respond with an update. I also have an update, I called my health insurance yesterday, and they contacted Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates - Stockbridge yesterday and found out that I only owe around $25 (Not what I was billed for $124.28) I was told by my health insurance to wait to make a payment until Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates - Stockbridge re-submits the claims and fix the billing issue created by them. I had a feeling I was being over charged for this service, and it was proven yesterday.

The RCM Manager was able to contact patient and this was her message: I called the patient as requested. The patient stated that he paid the balance in full. I explained that the amount collected at the time of service is typically an estimate of the patient's responsibility for the facility claim only. The patient understood the explanation and thanked me for reaching out.
BBB: Please close out this complaint as patient was contacted and verbally understood that amount collect at time of service was an estimate and the amount owed is patient reasonability.

I am rejecting this response because: I also said when I spoke to you that I will wait to hear from my insurance company when they contact the company you work for which I did. You must not have read my response from the other day, I don't know your name or I would list it here. The estimates where wrong which is the main problem and the company you work for has bad communication across all levels which you are aware of. This BBB complaint is a result of the bad communication and unfair billing practices. Correct the bill so I can be done with Atlanta Gastrologist Associates.

Northside Billing / United Digestive *************) never updated the payment in ****** **** system or called them to let them know I had paid Northside billing in full on 5/5/2025. I want Northside Billing to send my payment information to ****** **** *************) and I want a receipt of payment from ****** **** showing a zero balance. Atlanta Gastroenterology caused this billing problem by entering my mailing address incorrectly on 2 address lines in their system and I never got the bill in the mail.

07/09/2024 billed for a colonoscopy; I have ******************* use my maiden name ******* ***** as this was my name when I retired from the military. The business may have also used my married name when I provided my current ID. I have explained to the business on more than 1 occasion that I paid my co-pay using 2 checks, one for $34.07 & one for $54. Previously I even provided the check number & the date it cleared my account at *************************. Last week they sent me another bill for the same amount that I've already paid. Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates have my full mailing address because I verified it before my procedure, when they mailed out my bill they didn't input the full address, so the bill was returned back to them. They NEVER called ,texted or E-Mailed me after the billing was returned to them for incomplete Address. My husband has been calling this facility for over a week and no one will return his phone call. He has run out the medicine that the *** at this facility has prescribed but no on one will call him back. He finally drove over an 1-1/2 to this facility to get them to authorized the medicines and to sign a release form. . They told him that they would take care of it and it still hasn't been done. We have been calling and leaving messages and no one will return our call. I was told that office Mgr ******* would call us back and still no call back. Im reaching out regarding billing issues for a colonoscopy and endoscopy (EGD) performed by Dr. ******* ****** on April 18, 2025. I understand the endoscopy is appropriately coded as diagnostic, but Im seeking help to have the colonoscopy reprocessed as preventive, as it was intended.The colonoscopy was ordered as routine screening based on age and family history. While mild, nonspecific rectal bleeding was present, there was no prior diagnosis of colorectal disease. The procedure followed clinical guidelines for preventive screeningnot for diagnostic reasons.A biopsy during the colonoscopy led to a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis (UC), but this finding was incidental. The primary purpose was preventive. Under the *************** Act and Georgia law, preventive screenings must be fully coveredeven if biopsies or diagnoses occur during the procedure.I respectfully request:A review of the records to reflect the colonoscopys preventive intent.A letter from the physician confirming this was routine screening despite incidental findings.Assistance contacting the insurer to reprocess the colonoscopy as preventive, avoiding diagnostic *************** appreciate your help resolving this. Thank you for providing the necessary information for us to analyze your complaint. After reviewing your case, we determined that due to the initial office visit and diagnosis, both the *** and colonoscopy are coded as diagnostic procedures rather than preventative. If no symptoms had been present before the tests were ordered and no findings were discovered during the procedures, the colonoscopy would have been coded as preventative. However, since this was not the case, the current coding remains unchanged.

September 1 of 2021 I paid $1800 for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. They told me I would get a reimbursement from my insurance company once I filedthe claim. They filed the claim and the money was mailed to them for over $700 and they kept it. I had a medical procedure done on 8/14 and was told the cost of this would be 358 dollars. I then received 5 different bills from as many companies with no warning totaling $1190.62.
