This is my second complaint. This company is saying I owe a debt from years ago for a loan with *******. First of all I have never received a letter or email from the company. This company *** Mediation services has no website and three different company names (LCS, Long Consulting, and *****. Yes, I made a payment. But they called me at work I got scared as I have a family to take care of. They prey on vulnerable people. I have been trying to get in touch with LOANNOW and they don't even have a legitimate phone number; it takes you to Optima Tax Relief when you call their listed number.I have spoken with several attorneys who let me know what they leave on your voicemail (seen in all complaints left) is not accurate. Also, looking through the complaints, they have some extremely unprofessional responses to people. A legitimate business that wasn't trying to scam you, would not react this way, especially on their BBB page.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I can not find anything legitimate about your company. No website, no address, and yes in the moment I made a payment because I was scared, but the loan youre calling about doesnt even have a phone number anymore. Also the message that was left for me said I would get served papers at work; I have never received one phone call, letter in the mail, or email about this debt previously, I checked my email and talked to my neighbors and husband. The voicemail also said I had to have HR or a witness with me to get served but that is not true. I am a hard-working person who made some financial mistakes in the past, but I am also very trusting and Im sick of getting scammed by the same people. I live paycheck to paycheck. I cannot afford to just give my money away when I cant even get in touch with the original creditor, please refund my money and close this case and I will drop it. I am sick to my stomach and cant not sleep due to this. If you have contact information for the original creditor you can share that with me.

I am rejecting this response because: I don't feel comfortable calling anymore. Especially when you are responding in all caps. I am not trying to get out of paying a legitimate debt, but this does not feel right and from other comments on your BBB page and research i've found online others have felt the same. You're right I didn't ask yesterday; but if you can, put yourself in my shoes. I am at work, and I get a message from a number that is different from the number I am supposed to call back saying I am going to be served papers at work and need my HR department with me or at home and I'll need a witness. I call back to get more info and yes you were very nice on the phone but my actions were out of extreme fear and worry. I let my fear push aside my questions in my head like, why is this happening because I have never received any other correspondence from you or this creditor. You didn't answer with a business name, and knew it was me without verifying first. Also as opposed to asking me to verify my address and date of birth, you told me. Again I interacted with you but I was just so scared. I am trying to fix my finances in order to give my family a good life and as I am a trusting person, make the wrong decisions sometimes out of fear. I can't find any information on your company and as I said, can't get in touch with the original creditor. If you can give my their contact information here I will contact them directly. I would also like a refund processed, I live paycheck to paycheck and even what I paid you yesterday was a stretch for my budget. I am appealing to your humanity here.

I need to know is this scam and what or who I need to contact. This is very uncalled for and I need retributions for the embarrassment and undue stress this has caused me. They have contacted my mother and myself and claim to have a claim filed against me which had never happened and sent me a fraudulent agreement in which they spelled my name wrong. They attempted to charge me for a debt that was discharged with my bankruptcy. I stopped payment and refused their calls but they called me threatening extra charges and even texted my mother. Theyve threatened my employment and more. Theyre trying to charge me $1000 for something I have already settled.Business Response

However, maybe their recorded message should name the person they are looking for instead of leaving vague, threatening messages on the phone number they happen to call? If they would have said this message is for *******************, I would have called them back to let them know it's a wrong number. I have no problem doing that. And, I never would have had to get BBB involved in this matter. But, I thank you for your help.
