This brokerage company connected me with a moving company that provided deceptive and fraudulent services. Safeway Relocation Services has not been compliant in resolving this issue and are unwilling to correct this wrong doing. The sales reps of this company lie to customers stating that they do not charge for unused space if over-quoted. The way they advertise the moving services are not in-line with the actual services rendered. I did not even use the entire space of the second quote provided by a Safeway sales rep 3 days prior to moving. Because of this company, I paid over $10,700 for a move due to a grossly inflated quote that should have costed me around $5,600 based on actual services rendered. I only used 996 cubic feet of space during my move. I have provided photo evidence of the poor practice of the movers that Safeway employed with no resolution from any parties. Safeway provided me with a company that is practicing deceptive and unlawful practices under the ********* state law 325D.44 and 325F.69. I expect they will be penalized for their actions and I expect a refund for services not rendered. The bill of lading I signed states "the total estimated charges for service is not a guarantee of the final total actual charges - which may increase or decrease based upon actual services performed, quantity of items shipped, accessorial services, destination services, and/or weight of shipment.Initial Complaint

The word service should NEVER be associated with these con artists. I have never gotten even ONE return call from them. I have filed a complaint with the **** If necessary I will file complaints with the State Attorney and the Police. I have not been able to move into my apartment and have incurred over $2,000 in motel bills and I have still not received a return call from Safeway. There are legitimate movers but they are not one of them.Unfortunately this has been my experience with Safeway. They were happy to take my $2200 deposit and then sub out the job to a mover that subed out the job that subed out the job to movers that are holding my belongings until I pay them $7000. The original quote was $4450 which I have paid.THEY HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE IN EVEN LOCATING MY BELONGINGS.These fraudulent moving brokers and carriers will charge additional fees or take customers' stuff hostage***I really need to have a response and cant get one.Initial Complaint

On April 24, 2023, we engaged the services of Safeway Relocation Services to move from MD to **. We have sold our house and were scheduled to move on June 10, 2023. However, we have been trying to reach Safeway to potentially shift that date around only to find that none of the email addresses or phone numbers for Safeway are working. These include their main email address listed on all billing documentation, ************************************** (emails are returned as undeliverable) or their main number ************, which directs you to an after-hours automated texting service that does not respond. We have already paid our deposit but are extremely concerned this was a scam. We have to be out of our house by June 12 and will now be engaging the services of another company at additional expense. Frankly, this is unacceptable and extremely upsetting, especially as we are moving halfway across the country while both maintaining full-time employment. I have attached emails and billing statements for your reference, to include an email to their manager ***************************** who is also listed on the moving estimate. Total scam. Stole my deposit. Did not schedule a truck.On May 8, 2023 I signed a moving estimate from Safeway Relocation services for a move from ********* to ******* scheduled on June 6, 2023 for pickup and June 9th for delivery in *******. I paid a deposit of $1,224.26 on that date, received an electronic receipt of confirmation and was asked to sign a bill of lading with the assigned trucking company, One *************************.7 days prior to my move, I still had not been contacted by Safeway Relocation nor the trucking service, One Circle, so I began to reach out for arrival and delivery confirmation. I first reached out to Safeway's 800 number, then the agent who serviced me, however no phones were answered. Emails to the agent and the company also were returned undeliverable. I contacted One Circle Moving, and was informed that I was not on their schedule. They too tried to reach Safeway, to no avail. I am now stuck paying a new company, with 5 days until my move, and out the loss of my deposit.Initial Complaint

On 4/9/23, I paid a deposit of $842 to ******************* of Safeway Relocation Services for my move from ******* ** to *********. I did this via secure payment via ************.com as preferred by Safeway Relocation Services. He in turn provided me with an updated estimate on 4/10 showing my payment. Both documents are provided in the attachments. I gave ************** a moving date of 8/1/23, however, I stated that date could change. He assured me that I could call at a later date to update the moving date as long as I did not call within a week of the original 8/1/23 moving date. I emailed **** at his email address **************************************** on Wednesday 5/24 in an attempt to update the move. I received an automatic reply from Gmail stating that the email address was invalid. I immediately called **** at his personal number **************. The number immediately went to voicemail of a different representative, a *******************. I left a voicemail requesting a call back. As I called, an automatic text message also went to my cell phone from the same number encouraging me to text this number. I texted also asking for a call back. Today, Tuesday 5/30, I called this same number and received the same result. I called the business's main number **************. The automated system stated I was calling out of business hours despite it being ********************************************* to call the emergency number at **************. The automated system stated the number was unavailable. I emailed the company at their main email ************************************** and Gmail again stated this address does not exist. We engaged in a moving contract with this company on 3/21/23 for full servicing moving support to transport our household items from ** to ** on June 2nd. We paid a deposit of $1,160. We have been attempting to contact the company since 5/26. ******* is not returning phone calls or emails. On May 4, 2023 I contacted Safeway Relocation Services for an estimate to provide moving services from ************, ** to ***********/*******, ** on or around June 12, 2023. I spoke with a representative named ****. While on the phone with ****, he stated that a deposit was required and that the Safeway estimate would only be valid while I was on the phone with him. Should I wait to make a decision, the price and availability of movers could not be guaranteed. He also stated that I would have 3 days to cancel the contract and receive a full refund of my deposit. Though uncomfortable with the process, I provided the deposit since it would be refunded should I change my mind. The next day, May 5, 2023, after being unable to contact the company subcontracted for the move, I decided to cancel my contract with Safeway Relocation Services. I called Safeway to inform them of my decision and also sent an email as instructed in the contract. I was told by the representative on the phone that I would receive my refund in 3 - 5 business days.I waited the stipulated timeframe and called again on May 16, but was unable to speak with someone who could remedy the situation. I sent another email on May 17 indicating I still hadn't received the refund and would be in contact again on Friday, May 19 if the refund was not processed. On Friday, May 19, I called Safeway and spoke with a representative who stated the billing department would call me by 6PM that day. At 5:30PM, I called to speak with someone since I hadn't yet received a call and the business day was almost over. My phone calls were ignored. I then sent an email detailing the situation and informing Safeway that I would be pursuing my refund through other methods, including if necessary, using the full extent of the law.This morning I also contacted ***** to open a dispute with Safeway Relocation Services to remove the charge from my credit card.Initial Complaint

I am rejecting this response because:
they never given the estimate delivery date and final estimate.they told me that delivery is delay because Ive told them the precise address on 5/1/2023. But I have told them citys name when estimate. It will be possible they deliver to the city without noticing address precisely.
What I want to know is when the delivery will be and last estimate ( including final inventory list what you deliver).

This complaint is regarding a relocation service from OH to CA. The requested pick up dates were for 4/22-4/23. The inventory given totaled to 425CF. However, we were never given a delivery address until 5/1/2023. You also updated your FADD (first available delivery date) as 5/6/2023. This is what caused the delay of your delivery. Without the address they are unable to plan the delivery routes. Our customer service department will also request your on-site paperwork and complete a through breakdown with you of the charges.
