Initial agreement was to provide 18 hurricane rated windows to be installed in early July, 2025. Installation was begun July 7, 2025 and partially completed July 11, 2025. We had no problems with the installation. The gentlemen sent to do the work were cordial, efficient and obviously knew what they were doing. However, a two window unit arrived broken and could not be installed and still remains uninstalled. Another in our TV room was shattered but was installed with a piece of tape over the cracked portion. Ten of the windows had scratches in the glass and need to replaced. We were told corrections would be a priority but it would take four weeks to rebuild the needed replacements. We called Aug. 7 for info. Received a call back Aug 8 stating the windows were at *** waiting for delivery. We called Aug ****************************************************************** the sheet rock under another. We called Aug 25 but have had no call back Now seven months into this and because of the many replacements needed, our house has been in disarray pending the corrections so as not to have to move the furniture again. We also stand to lose and ************** Rebate from **** since we can't provide the info. **** needs until the job is complete. We have had little and no response nor updates from Weather Tite Windows and we feel we have been more than patient and understanding. We did hold out a final payment but that alone doesn't solve the issue.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are truly sorry for the delays, the damaged materials, and lack of timely updates that youve experienced since your project began. We acknowledge that the level of communication and follow-through has not met our standard, nor your expectations.

We want to assure you that completing your project correctly is our top priority. We understand the frustration of living with ongoing disruptions in your home and the potential loss of your TECO Rebate due to delays. To help make this right, we are prepared to provide you with a discount equal to the rebate amount you expected to receive ($215.39 - based on .76 cents a square foot) so that you are not financially penalized while we work to complete your project.

Lastly, we are reviewing our communication process internally to ensure updates are provided promptly and consistently moving forward. Your product is due to our facility September 5th. We will have an install manager reach out that afternoon to give you an update as well as next steps. We sincerely appreciate your patience and the opportunity to correct this. Your trust means a great deal to us, and we are committed to finishing your project properly and restoring your confidence in us.

I am rejecting this response because: Weather Tite Windows has not addressed the damage resulting from the window installation.  The attached photos show the cracks that appeared in the walls under several of the windows and the cracked marble windowsills in the master bedroom and the dining room windows.  We contacted Weather Tite Windows today (8/27/25) and they advised that they would repair the cracks in the drywall under the windows.  We were told that ****** would call later today to discuss the repairs needed.  The offer of rebating us the loss of the **** rebate is fair.  Obviously we have no choice but to accept the September 5th timeline.  We are now six months into this project and sincerely hope there are no more delays.  We expect the two den room windows to be installed, the broken TV room pane to be replaced, and the ten panes that were installed scratched to be replaced.

    Sincerely,

    ****** Earl *******

When your installers paperwork documenting the issues was returned on July 11, our Install Manager, *******, immediately placed the necessary reorders. She also contacted you on July 11 at 12:46 p.m. to confirm that the replacement parts had been ordered.

On August 27 at 1:24 p.m., you spoke with *******, who documented all damages in your account and escalated the matter to our Install Manager, ******. ****** then contacted you the same day at 2:27 p.m. to verify the parts that were already on order. He also explained that once the materials arrived at our warehouse (delivery scheduled for September 5, as previously communicated), he would work with our scheduling team to coordinate the necessary repairs, including addressing the documented damages. Please be assured that we have taken every step within our control to address these concerns promptly. Unfortunately, we remain dependent on the timely delivery of the replacement materials.

Today, 09/05/25, you were contacted by ******* to state that your service pieces arrived like expected. We want to double check the pieces and do a quality check before scheduling, but we do aim to get you on the calendar as quickly as we possibly can.

In addition, we will apply a $215.39 credit to your remaining balance, despite **** extending their deadline for rebates until December 2025 (as listed on their website). We will also supply you with the documents needed for your TECO rebate once everything is completed.

I am rejecting this response because:  Weather Tite Windows response is correct up to this point in time.  We were advised that all the windows would not be delivered to Weather Tite until the 15th of September and that we would be called then to schedule installation of the missing windows and the replacement window panes and also to address the damage to the marble ***** and cracked walls under the windows.    We are into the ninth month of this project and are growing steadily frustrated with all the delays..  We do not feel that this complaint should be "closed out" until all the work has been done to our satisfaction.

    Update as of September 19th

On September 15th, we received a packing list for this job indicating it should have been on one of the three trailers we received that day. After our warehouse crew located the job, we noticed some of the pieces were not right and contacted PGT. We arranged for an install manager to drive to their facility in ******, ******* to pick up what was missing.

On September 16th, the install manager brought the order to ******* for verification, and she found that we did not receive all the glass like we were supposed to the day prior. ******* then called ********** to relay the message and gave him the option to do a partial installation of what we had to which he agreed. Two hours later ******* called Mr. ******* back to inform him that she arranged to have the remaining pieces picked up and would have ******** reach out to coordinate install. ******** then called ********** and expedited his install to September 18th and 19th.

As of today, install is still in progress and should wrap today.

I am rejecting this response because: As per Weather Tite Windows' response, installers were at our home on September 18 & 19.  The missing den window was installed and the cracked TV room window was replaced along with most of the windows previously noted as scratched.  There are still  windows that are missing which should replace scratched windows so we must wait yet again wait for those pieces.  Also, the installers took measurements of the broken marble window ***** and they must be ordered as well.  In addition, the window sill of the newly installed den window was cracked when the installation was done on the 19th so that sill was added to the list of yet to be completed portions of the job.  The cracked drywall under two of the windows was repaired and left for us to paint as we have the necessary paint.

As of this response, we do not have a timeline of when the remaining work and repairs will be completed.  Therefore, this seven months long saga continues.

    Sincerely,

We signed a contract on 5/1/25 with Weather Tite windows, we were told about 12 weeks give or take. Small job- remove a set of French doors , build a block wall , install a new window . Finish interior and exterior to match the house ( no paint). Job was $5754. Last week when I followed up on timing , they said it would be at least $4000 more and tried to change the scope of the job . Their response was take it or leave it and they would cancel the contract and refund my $1700 deposit that they cashed on 5/5. At the very least , this is unethical and the most its breech of contract. And they are a huge company and should have to finish their contract.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/04/2025

We understand how disappointing this has been for you. Our contract also does state that all contracts subject to office approval and after reviewing your project in detail, our general manager found that the original contract price did not accurately reflect the labor necessary to complete the scope of work. Unfortunately, the sales representative misquoted the labor portion, and the difference is significant enough that the project cannot be completed at the originally contracted price without incurring a substantial loss.

We recognize that this was difficult news to receive, especially after signing a contract and planning around the quoted amount. While we offered to proceed with the project at the corrected price ($9,754),we also understand that this change represents a major shift from your expectations. For that reason, we offered a full refund of your $1,726 deposit so that you would not be financially burdened by our error. Please know that this decision was made only after a very careful review, and our intent is to handle the situation in the most fair and transparent way possible. We apologize for the delay, but we wanted to exhaust every avenue we could to find an amicable solution.

80 days after cashing my deposit check .

i received several quotes some lower some higher but chose them because of their reputation ( my mistake) .

they make it sound like my refund is out of the goodness of their heart.

i will take the refund but the fact that they managed to s**** me from completing a job before hurricane season should be noted.

i also have never heard of a contract not being a contract when they had 3 months to review it .

clearly a very poorly run company.

On 4/25/2020 We purchased windows at a cost of $21K that included a contract without individual cost for double hung windows and for horizontal windows. We also purchased a door and 2 arch windows. On the contract it states: RELOCATION WARRANTY - When you relocate, you have the right to purchase the same WeatherTite windows at the same price that you paid for the windows in your current home. When you relocate, contact WeatherTite and necessary arrangements will be made to have your new windows installed. We tried several times to get the price we paid for the dh and hr windows back in 2020. They refused to say. We met on 7/25/2025 and diligently tried including using their estimator for windows and they continued to not tell us 2020 cost only came up with a total amount for 9 windows again with no itemization of about $16 K. We still did not get 2020 cost. False contract Warranty.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/04/2025

When our sales ***resentative, ******* was at your home on 7/16 he initially provided a quote to which you then inquired about the relocation warranty. ****** immediately called into the office, spoke to management, and worked out a 2020 price of $18,400 to which you agreed to and provided a deposit check. The *** sent you the contract digitally to be signed.

A few days later, you then told the *** that based on your internet research you felt the pricing was wrong. The ***resentative then worked again with the owner to provide an additional discount. They adjusted your contract price to $16,823. That was an additional discount of $1,577. You ultimately chose not to move forward with this offer.

I apologize that we could not see eye-to-eye on pricing, and we do admit that we do not have a breakdown for your 2020 job. Due to covid, a lot of our ***s were not allowed either in home or in office due to distancing and quarantine, so paperwork was lost. I would also like to add that the relocation warranty does not cover the price of labor or the price of permitting. Those costs naturally increase year over year.

For reference, in 2020 your project included 10 windows and one entry door. You were charged $1,200 for labor and $19,800 for the products, averaging approximately $1,800 per opening.

In 2025, your request was for 9 windows. The labor cost for this scope of work would be approximately $800 at the low end, resulting in an average per-opening cost of $1,780.

Once again, I apologize for the confusion. We did what we thought was best to keep a long-time customer happy by using a law of averages and then tried to beat it.

I purchased windows and doors from Weathertite windows in February 2018. Shortly thereafter I notice some damage to begin to appear above the doors on the 1x2 board. Oer the remaining years I have seen it get worse. The company sent someone out to inspect it about three times over the last several years. They take no responsibility for the damage even though the warranty clearly states they warrant the door frames. They say it is from a leak. I don't see that. At one point I had an inspector, that was here for another reason look at it. He quickly said that he worked previously with a window company and that the damage should be covered by the warranty. I pulled some of the board back and looked at it. It was neither sealed nor painted....just raw wood. This improper installation led to the damaged board.I have given them multiple opportunity to remedy the issue and stand by the warranty to no avail. The complete job was over $17,000. This small area is only a portion of it.

    Business Response

Mr. **************** are very sorry for all of the trouble you are having around the door we installed in July of 2018.  I see from our records that you had us out on September 16, 2019 for splits in the caulk and you told our service tech you thought there was a roof leak over the door.  Then on July 16, 2021 and again on October 16, 2023 we went out and our techs showed you where the leak was coming from,  a gutter that terminated over the door.   Our most recent visit on March 11, 2025 was for a rotted piece of wood over the same door in the location where the gutter was leaking for all those years.  From the pictures the tech took at our most recent visit it looks like there were roof repairs done with included the removal of the leaking gutter.  The leak that was present before any repairs were done was and is the cause of the rotted wood.  The damages caused by the leak are not the responsibility of Weather Tite Windows or any of the work we have performed at your house over the years.

Again, we are truly sorry for the issue you are having with your home.

I am rejecting this response because:

As I stated the wood was NOT seal/painted prior to installing ( as any ********* would tell you to do) in an area that is exposed to the elements. It was an improper install from the beginning. If it had been done right any water would have not damaged the frame....Think about how a wood frame house is protected by painting. By the way, as I had mentioned to them before, the doors do not close properly. He said id was due to a s**** that was blocking proper closure. That was not the case. The s**** is stripped out. Another sign of poor installation.

In August 2021 we had a large custom window replaced with a smaller one and now the walls they installed around it are failing. Due to the smaller size of the new window, the opening needed to be filled in. Instead of block (like the rest of the wall), they installed wood framing (2 ft) on either side of the window. We initially refused, sent the guys home, and called the office. We were told it would be another 8 months to resubmit for the new job. Meanwhile we had large holes on either side of the new window that would be left exposed during hurricane season while we waited. It had already taken 8 months for the initial installation. So we reluctantly proceeded. We applied concrete sealant over the exterior, however the wall started cracking on the inside and outside 3 months after the job, WeatherTite came out and caulked it. But it started to crack again soon after and now it appears to be buckling on the inside.WeatherTite is telling us that it just needs to be painted and it isnt structurally a problem because the county approved the plans. Not sure how paint is going to structurally prevent the wall from further slipping. The only resolution WeatherTite offered is applying drywall mud over the cracks on the interior. Absolutely not, thats only a bandaidjust like the caulk they applied the first time it cracked. While the window itself is good, the installation is unacceptable and not worth the $7,800 we paid! So much for the companys policy of lifetime warranty on installations.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/08/2025

Mr. **************** are very sorry this has happened to you.

As you are aware, this work was completed in August of 2021.  Our agreement called for Weather Tite to close in two openings with wood framing, drywall and stucco.  All of the work was designed by an engineer, permits were obtained, and the work was inspected a number of times by a City of Tampa building inspector.  The agreement specifically states that the work would be left in paint ready condition, which it was as evidenced by photos we have of the work.  Any sealing and or painting was specifically excluded from our work in the agreement.  ****** is an extremely porous material. Rainwater may run off unsealed and unpainted stucco, but the stucco tends to absorb quite a bit of water and moisture. Sadly, what has happened here is the result of the stucco work we completed not being sealed and then properly painted.

One of our install managers came to your home on 03/26/25 to investigate the situation after you called our office.  At that time,he noted that the stucco had cracked but had been repaired and it seemed that the stucco has been sealed.  We were not given the opportunity to see the conditions before the stucco was reworked by others.  Out install manager used a moisture meter and determined that there was no moisture in the interior walls.  He offered to have us come out and touch up the interior wall with joint compound as well as texture the wall to make it ready for paint again.  This offer still stands.

Regarding our warranty, we stand behind the work we were contracted to do.  As stated above, the stucco sealing and painting were not part of the work in our agreement.  Any consequences of not sealing and painting the stucco work cannot be our responsibility when it was not part of our agreement.

Again, we are very sorry for what happened to you and stand ready to do the drywall work that has been offered.

    Complaint: 23160134

    I am rejecting this response:

The purchase agreement we received is not very legible but I can decipher that it mentions wood framing; although I thought we were talking about the frame directly around the window. However, the WeatherTite Measure Sketch Sheet provided has an image drawn of the area that specifically says block in on either side of the window. So definitely a failure of communication on your companys part.
The area was sealed with concrete sealant after installation and still resulted in cracking 3 months after the installation. The cracking wasnt just in the stucco but also the interior of the installed area. Someone was sent out to fill/caulk the cracks at that time. However, it started cracking again afterwards and the cracks got wider after the past hurricane season so I applied further intervention on the stucco at that time; I assume this is what you referenced in your response as stucco was reworked by others. Its very concerning that we paid for a hurricane impact window and yet the area around the window doesnt seem to be hurricane safe.
The install manager that was sent recently stated that we should have required you to hire a contractor independently to fill the spaces before we installed the window; we are not general contractors. This was the first time we were told the job was beyond the scope of work for the company. If we had been told we would have gladly had the wall fixed to be window ready.
While the cracking was an issue, its not the primary concern. The wall around the window installed by your company is falling backwards. Your install manager acknowledged the wall was falling back but claims the possible leak has now been fixed and isnt an issue at this time.
I do not believe the lack of paint is the reason for the wall falling. We have another area that was done a year prior by another company. A previous door was replaced with a window requiring part of the wall to be filled in. This company used concrete block instead of wood, it was sealed but not painted and theres been no cracking or any other issue. The wood framing your company used is not sufficiently holding the window in place.
I am requesting resolution in the form of at least partial reimbursement to have the area with wood framing replaced with concrete block, stucco, and drywall.

    Sincerely,

    **** *****

We purchased windows for our entire homw in October of 2023 from Weather Tite Windows. We gave a down payment of $8000.00 at the time the salesperson (*****) was at our house knowing the final balance of $27985.00 would be due after instllation. The were finally installed at the end of March of 2024. We are very happy with the quality and look of our windows, except for one issue that has been going on since the end of March in 2024. The picture window that looks out to the backyard and swimming pool had debris in between the panes of glass. They have come back with 4 new windows, all with this debris in betweened the panes of glass. The last time they came out was November 13, 2024 with another window containing debris in between the panes of glass. On November 14th a customer represenative by the name of **** reached out to me letting me know he was "on top of the situation" and would be getting back with me soon. I waited untill February 4th of this year and hadn't heard anything. I called ***** and he said he was waiting to here back from *** about the new window. *** is the manufacturer. He said he would call me back the next day with an update. Not hearing from him for three weeks, I called him on the 25th of February and he said he is still waiting to hear from PGT. I told him this was not acceptable and I was going to file a BBB claim. If needed, all calls are recorded so you can listen to the call. He called back within 10 minutes and said they were supposed to have another one at the end of next week. Aslo we were supposed to received an energy credit of approxitmatly $2500.00 from *********** by installing these windows. My *******, *****, said he would have the office send me the form to fill out and send it to Duke. I was informed since we didn't have an energy audit done first we would not get the credit. ***** didn't tell us about the audit. We are seeking a good window as we paid for and the $2500.00 energy credit.

As you are aware, PGT is handling the replacement glass themselves.  We have contacted them, and their service department tells us their technician is expecting the glass at the end of March.  Once their technician has the glass, they will inspect the quality and then an appointment will be scheduled to bring the glass out and install it.  We will keep in contact with *********** and as soon as there is an update, we will contact you.

Regarding the *********** Rebate, this is not something we control.  If there was a miscommunication between our representative and you, we apologize.   This is a transaction though between you and ***********.  The maximum *********** rebate is $400.00.  All information regarding their rebate can be located on their website. As an act of good faith and to keep you as a loyal customer we want to offer this to you for customer satisfaction. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Again, we are very sorry for these inconveniences.

Here are the details:On January 31, 2024, we contracted with Weather Tite Windows for the replacement of 35 windows in our home. The total quoted cost was $39,400, which included $200 per window for wood replacement of the outer frame. This wood replacement was necessary only if there was damage during installation or pre-existing damage, such as water damage.Out of the 35 windows, only 7 required some wood replacementnot the full window shroud. Given that the cost was specifically for the wood and not for installation services or the windows themselves, we believe we are entitled to a refund of $5,600 for the windows that did not require any wood replacement.Despite our request for a refund, Weather Tite Windows has stated that they feel they lost money on the job due to discounts offered and will not issue a refund. I have an email from their billing department confirming that the amount due would be settled at the end of the job, and that accounting would address any refunds owed. It wasnt until I followed up that I was informed we would not receive a ********* a disabled veteran with a growing family, I feel we have been taken advantage of and that our trust in a well-known company in ***** has been misplaced.

    Mr. *****,

We are very sorry for the confusion. We work very hard to avoid situations like these and pride ourselves on being a customer-oriented company. We take complaints like these very seriously and the feedback is appreciated. Much of our business is driven by referrals from previous customers so to hear that we have upset you is tough to hear.

On February 1st, 2024, you signed a purchase agreement with our company. The purchase agreement calls out that we were to remove all the old windows and replace with 35 non-impact windows. The agreement also goes on to list the type of windows, the locations, and the frame colors. It lists the estimated delivery as well as our policy on third-party rebates and shutter removal.

On February 12th 2024, we came out and did a final measurement so we could confirm your order for production. While we waited on delivery, we checked your order for accuracy, reached out to you regarding your HOA, and we submitted the necessary paperwork to obtain a permit with the county. When your product was delivered, we unloaded it off the trailer, checked it make sure we had everything we needed, then called on June 20th, 2024, to arrange a date best suited for you for installation.

On July 8th, 2024, your installation took place. During installation we try to reuse existing trim if we can and remove and replace trim if it is damaged. Our objective is to have every job weather tight and paint ready. Please note, there is nothing in the purchase agreement calling out options or specific charges for material on an as needed basis. Every window needs an array of different materials (screws, caulk, tape, shims, wood, sometimes siding and even stucco) to avoid confusion and ambiguity at the end of the project we charge a flat fee of $200 per window to cover the installation. This amount is included in the total contract price of your agreement.

On July 26th 2024, your inspection passed with *******************, and they issued a Certificate of Completion and closed out the permit. If you would like a copy of this document, please let us know and we would be happy to email it to you.

Our goal is never to upset, and we are sorry that you have lost trust in you. We completed the project in a timely manner and delivered on all aspects outlined in the purchase agreement. We are very sorry for the confusion, but we will not be able to provide the refund you are requesting.

I am rejecting this response because: it was told to us (me and my wife) the $200.00 per window was for wood replacement and not all the other items you just wrote about and that is the first time sharing that after all the contact I have had with your office. This is a plan and simple case of Unjust Enrichment where you charged a fee for something and now that you are asked to refund that money due to it not being needed or used, you are keeping it. Even the installers spoke about not needing the $200 per window due to the good condition my wood was around almost all. I have an email from your internal office telling me all refunds will be processed after the job is closed and full payment is made.
further more your reply to this complaint is not inline with the feedback from the sales person who got heated when I ask for status of the refund where he said it was not coming back to me due to him not getting a bonus for the sale and that the profit/loss on the job was too low. Same goes for your internal note as stated to me by another representative, where it was in the system that I would not get a refund due to some discount applied to my job that justified keep my money that was over paid per window.

I ask once again, to return my difference in the cost per the statements, system notes and work done to end this dispute. You have the opportunity to do the right thing, take the  ext step.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

New windows paid for 2/17/22, $15K worth of windows. Fast forward 2.5 years, and two of the windows have manufacturer defects. The company is willing to provide replacement glass, but will not install it. The glass has been ordered and provided free of charge due to defect. However, vendor refuses to install. Statute of repose requires the vendor to stand behind their work for 10 years.

Mrs. ***** - we are sorry to hear about your glass however we are surprised about this complaint. When the Windows were purchased on 1/19/21 the products you chose had a 1 year "LABOR" warranty and a "manufacturer's warranty" for the product. Your work order clearly states, "Manufactures warranty only with a 1- year labor warranty".

Our service team has ordered the glass from the manufacture as per the agreement. When purchasing the products you agreed to the 1-year labor warranty. Therefore, we feel this complaint is unwarranted. You do not call out a specific statute only a legal term that does not apply to the product itself. Workmanship and product warranty do differ, and your service is for the product not for the workmanship. We are sorry for any frustration or confusion however we have lived up to the terms of our agreement.

I am rejecting this response because: I have 2 windows that are defective. I appreciate the glass was ordered and an acknowledgement was made that it is indeed defective. However, the lack of willingness to install the glass given the defect is concerning.

Section 558.002(5), F.S., defines a construction defect as follows:

[A] deficiency in, or a deficiency arising out of, the design, specifications, surveying, planning, supervision, observation of construction, or construction, repair, alteration, or remodeling of real property resulting from:

    (a) Defective material, products, or components used in the construction or remodeling;

Given the windows are 2.5 years old, I would expect your team remedy the defect under Florida statute.  Installing the glass would remedy the defect, one of the viable solutions to resolve claims against construction defect per the statute

    Sincerely,

On Nov 10, 2022, I had Weather Tite out to my home to look at the window that was leaking in hopes of having it repaired. I was immediately told it needed to be replaced as the current window was installed improperly and could not be fixed. With this guidance I got an estimate to have this replaced and a sliding door, which would bring down the cost of just doing the window. We agreed on a price of $9,500 to do both and post installation of both and full payment in June of 2023, the window continued to leak. An inspector came out and I was told that the issue is in fact having to do with small cracks in the wall joints around the window and they were not responsible. Despite the salesperson apologizing for giving the bad advice to spend $9,500, the company will not give me any compensation for replacing a window that did not need replacing. They told me to write a letter to corporate and when I did they called and pretended to be interested in hearing my accounting of the situation, but said they will not provide any compensation even though they have a guarantee of their work. The bottom line is that I had a leak, I was advised to replace the window for $9,500 and the work is guaranteed, and I still have the leak.

It is always the goal of Weathertite Windows to make sure our customers are happy. Unfortunately, with construction some things are out of our control however, we work with the customer to make sure in the end everything is proper to the best of our ability.

in the initial request, Mrs. contacted us for a sliding glass door and stated she also had a window that was leaking that she would like us to look at. As per her contract, we replaced the sliding glass door and the window. Unfortunately, even though the window was replaced, the leak still occurred. It was discovered that she had structural issues that need to be handled with her condo association. This is not a faulty installation issue. We are unable to process a refund as the window was replaced as contracted. She should work with her association to have the reimbursement provided by them.

    Complaint: 21739972

I am rejecting the window company's response to my BBB complaint for the following reasons:
    1. The original issue of water leakage through the window remains unresolved, despite the
replacement of the window and subsequent repairs to the exterior of the building.
    2. The company's claim that the issue is purely structural is not supported by the facts.
After their installation, I had the exterior cracks repaired as they suggested, yet the leaks
    persist.
    3. The company sold me a new window, stating this would resolve the leak. If the problem
was entirely structural as they now claim, they should have identified this before
recommending and carrying out an unnecessary window replacement.
    4. I have incurred significant expenses for both the window replacement and the exterior
repairs, yet the original problem remains unresolved.
Given these points, I believe the window company bears responsibility for:
    1. Failing to correctly diagnose the source of the leak
    2. Recommending and carrying out unnecessary work
Not standing behind their work and recommendations I am seeking the following resolution:
    1. A thorough inspection by an independent expert to determine the true source of the leak
    at WindowTites expense.
    2. If the leak is related to the window installation, I expect the company to repair or replace
    the window at no cost
    3. If the leak is unrelated to the window, I request a partial refund for the unnecessary
    window replacement.
I look forward to the company's revised response addressing these concerns

    Sincerely,

It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy at the completion of their projects.  The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them.

Mr. Otiss installation was originally completed in September. There were several small issues that still needed to be addressed so Mr. refused to make payment.  We tried for several weeks to reach Mr. ** complete these items and Mr. was unresponsive and then out of town and then unresponsive again. By law we have a certain amount of time after installation to file a lien to protect our investment. This was told to Mr. at the time of contract as well as a document he signed that he understands this law. We understand Mr. had family matters that were unfortunate and for that we are sorry to hear, however we must follow the laws that are set forth. Once Mr. received the lien, he contacted us and the service was completed and final payment was made. At that time the lien was removed from his home.
